Get over to the Awards and Contests forum and simply name the single poet who has effected YOU most in 2005.

The 7th Annual Literotica Award Nominations: Most Influential Poet

The way the nominations thread works is that the nominations are tallied up for each person named there, they are next counted and only qualifying poets are mentioned in the voting thread.

A word of caution, simply because a poet has been nominated doesn't mean they will qualify, the greater number of unique mentions the better for your champion...

Really, I'd rather just win the lottery. It would be so much easier.

I'm glad for whoever I influence. You all influence me. If it weren't for you and you and you and especially him, there are about 1,000 poems I'd never have written.

Now you all go nominate (and vote) your conscience.

I had a comment, but I sort of lost heart. Not that it was a slam or anything, it was actually a compliment of sorts.

Anyway. Just to go on record. I think both of you are pretty damn attractive and I hope neither one of you ever shut up.

:rose:

I feel like a bit of a thief for casting a nomination, since I've barely been a poet at all this past year. But I've read, on and off, and lurked, now and then. And been influenced by poetry in other ways than for writing it myself. I hope that's enough to make my vote matter.

Now I'm curious but I won't ask. And I do agree with what Ange said about everyone voting their conscience. I just think it's nice for someone who is as sweet and talented and helpful as Ange to get attention. Now, let's move on to some others.
Fool for President! :D

I'd vote for Randi Grail if it would convince her to hang around awhile!

I hate choosing....but if I have to....Pat Carrington... for his fine writing, constructive criticism, and consistently supportive involvement in the poetry threads......

One less means we don't get to read your poetry!

You assume I have written any. And kept it from you? I would nevah.
You're keeping poetry from me? Silly girl. :D Give it up. It has been nearly a year since you submitted a poem.

Didn't I say I would nevah? Yes I did. And irony on me is like a too big sweater; it makes me look like a doofus. The only thing written lately is one that got away. I just wrote about it in the Passion thread & submitted it today. :)

I just checked it out. Good stuff. I'll comment as soon as it shows up on the new poems list. ;)

Nice to see and read you Randi! Been too long....Happy New Year!

Before we are reminded

by Laurel or (perhaps rightfully so) obtain a new category for nominations: "Most Contentious Forum of the Year," it's probably good to remember that the nominations thread is supposed to be for nominations only. This is the place for discussion.

Anna, your point about nominating Pat (or anyone else who is not considered "active" because they don't have poems currently submitted) is good information. As I told you privately, in the absence of that info from Laurel though, I'd hate for anyone to feel discouraged from nominating whomever they personally believe deserves the award.

I am honored to be nominated though I think others are more deserving. For me, the nomination means more than winning a prize. That's why I nominated Pat. I wanted to honor him. Perhaps others feel the same way.

Did Pat have any poetry at all submitted in 2005--even if it's been taken down? If so, he should be okay for nominations. And so should fly. He had poems submitted at one time.

And monkey, thank you for the nomination. I'm old and icky now and no one else gave me a thought! (all you people are on my possum delivery list--don't ask.) So your nomination was a little like saying, "Eee! Eee! Ooo Eee! I'd wuv ya more if Eee Eee you were a banana daiquiri." Sigh... I feel the monkey love.
