Got any?

Mine are to have stories posted in the following (all new, to me) categories:

Exhibitionist & Voyeur
NonConsent/Reluctance
BDSM
Fetish

(aside)
Ideally, I'd like to eventually hit every category -- but I won't write for Interracial Love simply because I see it as a total non-category. Who gives a flying fuck anymore? Put it in "taboo" (if'n ya feel that it's a naughty little secret) or "fetish" (if'n ya only get off with someone of another race). Either way, there's no need to perpetuate a racially divisive atmosphere by giving it its own category. (I'm ranting. Sorry. It must be the weather.)

My goal: To have a story submitted. Period. I've been taking my time trying to improve my writting techniques and style. Every time I get something going and feel good about it, I send it off for some feedback and keep getting the same responses about poor grammer and such. So, I'm going to work really hard to improve and become a writter and not just a word scribbler. Then I'll get some stories up and running.

i have no goals
*whimper*

no really, i would like to contribute to the following:
how to
(im thinking a how to manual re: the angst of man and his remote control)

letters/manuscripts
(real life will influence this one)

humor (i already have but would like to do so again soon. my gunter story is STILL in the works but im faltering ...)

voyeurism
(this is my kink. erm... one of them anyway...hoping to expound it in a story soon)

ok.. i think thats plenty, dont you?

I don't have any goals either. That way I don't have to worry about failing at them. :)

Actually if I just finish this current story I'll be happy. And if it's any good... I think I'll faint.

Mine are more specific to stories and writing. They are:

1) Finish one particular story that has been very challenging.

2) Finish a second that might have some shot at publication, then stop dithering and submit.

3) Ditto on the poem.

4) Practice and develop a greater ability to create, sustain, and intertwine supporting plots in longer works.

5) Develop a more consistant and realistic idea of my audience and learn to write more effectively for them.

6) Begin the most commercially viable of my envisioned projects and get far enough this summer to submit proposals to publishers.

But I've already done the really hard step ...

7) Explain to the head of my dept. that I plan to concentrate on writing creatively and don't plan to focus on certain other duties, with the understanding that this might lead to my dismissal.

He was frightfully decent. I got the proverbial "offer one can't refuse" and took it ;)

My writing goal for 2005 is to get paid (even just a pittance) for something I've written.
My dad calls me every month after my parenting is published and says, "Why aren't you sending these to national magazines - Rejection slips don't come in exploding envelopes!"
OK, Dad, I'm going to do it. I promise!

Getting all of the extant parts of TSM edited and loaded correctly onto this site.

Finishing Part one of the damned thing would also be nice.

Interesting you should say that. One of my hidden goals is to collect rejection slips. That which does not kill me, eh? I took heart this past year from this: that Samuel Beckett, whom I admire intensely, had "Murphy" rejected 31 times before it was published. And he suffered from depression most of his life. I figure, if he can take it - I can take it. I'm aiming for the big 3-2 on something.

 to you, Shanglan, for your lofty and noble goals.

 to Carson for being Carson.

We'll see where those lofty noble goals get me. If it's down the pub, I won't mind much ;)

Ooooooo -- a "rejection slips" thread would be cool. ;) I have none to contribute*, but I'd love to read others'

*Not because I've never been rejected, but because I've not submitted anything. ;)

These two are fantastic! They're all wonderful, but these two really struck a chord with me.

For 2005, I want to:

  • Send out lots of queries, then
  • Send out a few (3 or more) articles for publication
  • Get paid for the articles that are accepted.
  • Work on my first book/novel.

Lit-wise: I plan to put the finishing touches on a story I started last year and get it published here sometime during the fall. Then I'll get started on the series that's been running through my head for the last few months, which is why I love #'s 4 & 5 Shanglan.

Anyway, good luck and remain steadfast during this new year everyone! :rose:

I would share, but it's rather long. Oh, that and about as pleasant as having the gae bolga shot into one's vitals. Other than that, I'm good with it.

(This was about four years ago.)

well my goal is to take my writing a tad more seriously and actually submit bits and pieces to places that might actually pay me ;)

*sigh*

I have a goal...of finishing three stories that I have been working on. They are for submission to an agent...and I'll see if I have what it takes then I guess.

Other than that, I want to write in a couple of different catagories at lit this year as well.

Sci-fi/fantasy
Gay Male
Lesbian
First time
BDSM
and maybe even
romance.

The gay male and lesbian...I want to go with a purely lesbian or gay male story, no heterosex at all. I seem to have cheated in the past...always ending up bi-sexual instead of true gay/lesbian.

Sci-fi...I read star-trek and other types of sci-fi literature, and I guess I'd like to try my hand at an erotic version of a few of those genre' of stories. Even a story that goes back in time to perhaps dragons and soccorers.

The hardest will be doing the story/ies for publication or to be sent to an agent. Not even sure how that all works for sure yet...and it is intimidating as hell. Lit has helped me to build confidence, but one needs a certain amount of skill too, which I am not certain I have as of yet.

*shrugs*

Oh well...we will see what happens I guess.

Spock-Kirk gay male would be a fun read! Three category story (celeb, GM, sci-fi) :)

You could interweave dozens of actual quotes from movies/series, such as:

Please Captain, not in front of the Klingons.
- Spock (Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)

(Damn, shut up, Imp! Givin' away good ideas, here!)

Done: Enter the Literotica Valentine's Day content. One down many many more goals to do.

1. To write every day.

2. Finish more of the stories I start.

3. Try writing in different genres.

4. Get published in print.

5. By the end of year start working on a book.

Kind of nice to put them down. Kind of makes the goals seem more real.
