Since other parts of the country are planning Litogethers on
a large scale it seems.......and I am putting out this thread
to the Lit public.......there are many of us from the Northeast
here, and we ought to have our own Litogether.

Northeast region includes: New England (CT, RI, VT, Mass, NH, ME);
New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania. Upon discussion w/ a couple
friends, this get together would also be open to anyone outside of
those areas mentioned above.

Anybody interested in a Northeast Litogether this year, in
the summer perhaps? More people seem to be more flexible
then in travel plans and whatnot.

Discuss!

If there is enough interest, a separate thread would be set up
for deciding on where, when, etc.

I'm kinda new - but still think it would be lots of fun!

It is a good suggestion, yes......but there are people who
might want to join in on this that can't afford NYC.......there
are other possibles...such as Philly, Boston, New Haven, CT.......
they are all accessible by train, car, plane, bus :)

That's why its a Northeast Litogether....... ;)

Re: nyprince

i've always liked boston, if i ever leave the city it will only be for boston, how about a place like mohegan sun, or foxwoods?

I take it that you've been to Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods
before? I've been to Foxwoods once, but it was only a
day trip......nice place, but I've heard thru the grapevine
that Mohegan Sun was better. Either of those are good
possibilities.

I was thinking of Boston when I first started brainstorming
for this; the thing w/ the Northeast is that there's really
no central point, esp. in the New England area. Other
than NYC, there's Boston.

Let's see what others have to say about this. :)

Hey TJ....sounds good! Have you thought of maybe someplace at the Jersey shore? Beautiful place in the summer!:)

Greetings everyone! Jen and I were talking about this the other night, and we had a few destinations in mind. Boston, NYC, Philly, Atlantic City, and Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun. For those of you unfamiliar with CT geography, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos are in southeast Connecticut, only minutes from I-95. It's about an hour east of New Haven, and right near Mystic.

What does everyone think would be a good place? Are there any other suggestions?

I vote Yes for it.

I am in full support of a Northeast Litogether.......Yes.

I would like to suggest a central New England area away from the major cities. Except for some, primarily we are from New England. Therfore I suggest places like Brattleboro, VT. Make it a weekend thing possible reserve a campground for the weekend. Getting away from hustle and bustle of the city would be a welcome and relaxing change for me. Just remember this is only a suggestion.:D

It's a good suggestion. I think we started with the major cities because they're easy to get to (car, bus, train, etc.) and because there are a lot of things to do in these areas. I have no problem going to a rural location, as long as there are things to do, and places to meet. A campground is a good idea, especially if it is on a lake. If we do this during a hot weekend in the summer, a cookout and swim would be fantastic.

Maybe we should choose a weekend first? The date could help us with what we'd like to do.

I'll go either way city or rural. The reason I thought of Brattleboro is it is on I-91 so access would be easy. I was just throwing it out as a thought.
