20 years later

Hard to believe it's been twenty years since the release of nelson Mandela. I remember singing this song back in highschool.

I have friends in South Africa, so I am keenly aware of the many problems they still face but I find Mandela's story heartening. When I find myself thinking that one person can't make a difference, I remind myself of people like him.

This is a good read.

For a person to be treated like he was, and still want to change the country and make a difference shows how amazing he really is! I was only young when he was released so I don't remember a great deal, but that doesnt stop him having so much of my respect.

I don't think I will be rushing to see Invictus though!

I'm a big fan of the Specials through their various incarnations. Honestly, they did a huge amount of good with this song, as they introduced so very many people (including myself) to the issues in South Africa with this tune.
