1st Submission shows as "Draft", not "Pending"

Submitted my first story here, believe I did it correctly but it has been stuck in "Draft" for a week now. FAQ indicates it should have been labelled "Pending" right away. So I'm wondering if all I did was save a draft of the story and need to do some further follow-up work to actually submit it...?

(I tried searching this thread for answers, but found nothing)

An addendum to my above question:

The piece in question is entitled "Motherfriend". Orig. submission was 08/27/2017 I believe. I submitted it as a .docx file, perhaps this was an issue. I've just now resubmitted it in .rtf, knowing this will bump it back to the end of the queue if it was ever queued up to begin with.

Let me know if any other info would be helpful...I suspect the piece was submitted correctly, but if so the word "Draft" is seriously misleading. Anyway, thx in advance for any help.

And just like that I figured it out....because I downloaded a file (and the Preview button showed as greyed out), it wasn't clear that I actually needed to Preview my story first before it could be finally submitted.

All is good, sorry for the hub-bub.
