Which were your favorites? Which did you hate? Or which did you just notice the most?

I always dug the training/studying/gearing up to the finale montages with obligatory ballad.

Chief among them, toward the end of The Karate Kid when Daniel's at the tournament and they play Joe Esposito's "You're the Best" during a montage of his fights...

Well, let's see about this...

Since there will be TOO many "Real Genius" and "Breakfast Club" references to come, I'd like to contribute a different favorite:

SUDDEN IMPACT
(aka Clint Eastwood's last good "Dirty Harry" flick)

"...I've been coming in here for a large black coffee. Today, I come in for my coffee, but it's got sugar in it. A LOT of sugar. So I came back to complain. Now why don't you boys just put those guns down...we're not just going to let you walk out of here...Smith & Wesson & me..."

Sure, "Go ahead, make my day" was shorter, but THIS line was MUCH cooler!

The bit where the nasty Vietnamese stick a sack with a rat in it on Chuck Norris's head and you see bloodstains seep through the sack and they take it off to find Chuckie boy has bitten the rats throat out. I fell about laughing at that one.

The sick jokes the good guys crack after they kill someone make me laugh. I think they started with the Bond movies, but Arnie does it in a lot of his films too.

Not sure if this is an 80's thing....

The tough guy takes a beating but wins the fight, never showing any pain or that he is hurt.
The next scene the beautiful woman puts a little alcahol on a wound and he makes a face like it hurts.

I'll be back!!!

and the long wait, and then Arnold drove the car through the front of the Police station, and killed damned near everybody....I liked it!!!

"It was a banner fucking year in the Bender household... Ehhhh! Smoke up, Johnny!!"

80s movie cliches - michael j fox :)

i could of just as easierly of said charlie sheen though

I like the everybody is pulling together to make this work to the beat of cheesey inpiring pop music.

Like the getting ready for the prom scene in Footloose or setting up the dance house thing in Breakin' 2. (Yes I've seen it. I admit it! Stop looking at me like that!)

The part where fun music starts to play and a party breaks out with people dancing and holding drinks.

Like in Caddyshack. And the Simpsons rip-off with Rodney Dangerfield.

The line may not be a cliche, but...

it seems that every rap and dance video took this advice:

"So what's the matter? Your shoes on too tight or something? Let's have some action! Let's see some asses wigglin'! I want some perfection!":D

Every longshot story where at the end they have to play some Rocky inspired crap music as the underdog pulls off the seemingly miracle of winning.

Bit of a tangent, I apologize, but I've got one for 80's tv shows. I love to hate the way they used to bring in some guest character who was going through some ordeal - parents divorced, drugs, abused, generally troubled kid. Then they have a main character in the show befriend that troubled youth, overcoming trust issues, and promising to be friend with the troubled teen for all time. Then you never see that troubled teen again. Uh huh...
