Oh how I wish I was on the west coast. I’m at the same stage in life and completely relate to your post. I hope that you find what you are seeking. Meanwhile, this Midwest guy will keep exploring.

Several years back I used to chat on Yahoo and other chat sites, but I haven't had that opportunity for a long time. These days, the best I can do is email and I don't really have anyone I correspond with regularly.
