This is urgent!

What does a folk singer from the 1960s look like? I have half an hour to come up with a costume. I don't own jeans, let alone bell bottoms. So far, I have a blue cotton skirt that goes down to my ankles and a maroon wrap shirt with a deep v-neck. And a toe ring. What else do I need?

If you have long hair, brush it out and let it go wild!

No makeup (or very little)

beads?

Go braless!!

(Of course, I'm too young to know about the 60s, but I did dress like a hippie a few times)

Holy shit. A piece of my past has become "costume".

ALright, I wasn't old enough to be folk singer in the 60s, but I played one on TV.

In case you care, a folk singer in the 60s pretty much wore what folk singers today wear -- jeans and a T-shirt. It was only on TV they got psychedillic. (Image Dylan or Guthrie with beads and bell bottoms for crying out loud.)

The times they are a'stayin' the same...

the 60's?

you mean like in fringed vests, tie dyed shirts, love beads and flower children?
psychodelic rock and "peace" signs and the days of sit- ins and protests?
like in the "make love, not war" time?
richie havens singing "Freedom"
days of the original Woodstock?
Volkswagon vans painted up in wild colors and designs
black lights and posters
Iron Butterfly doing InnogoddaVida and that awesome 7 minute drumsolo? Steppenwolf
The days and times of the British Invasion?
nope, before my time, sorry! LOL
