19 shootings overnight in Obama’s home town of Chicago
19 people were shot in Chicago between Thursday evening and Friday morning, with 13 of the 19 shot in a span of just 30 minutes. Chicago’s murder rate has gone up 31 percent since 2011when Mayor Rahm Emanuel was elected.
The Chicago Sun Times reports that 8 of the shootings occurred during a drive-by due to “warring factions” of the Black P. Stones gang.
Barack Obama, in his home town of Chicago for lavish fundraisers two weekends ago, remarked that “Chicago is an example of what makes this country great….witness this room [of donors].” This was the same weekend that he was a no-show at the historic African American Bud Billiken parade.
This community that he skipped out on that weekend in town is the one bearing the brunt of the spiked murder rate. Obama’s schedule was empty the day of the parade, which was held in is his name this year, despite the fact that he cited “scheduling conflicts” as the reason he could not attend and despite dedicating that Sunday to fundraising on the South side.
In the wake of being abandoned and misused by Obama and their community leaders, a new movement is building among African Americans in Chicago, The Broke Party:
Broke Party spokesman, Paul McKinley, told Breitbart News, “The Broke Party ain’t feelin’ Barack Obama… We are protesting Obama because of gay marriage, and violence in the black community, which is caused by starving our community and not providing the resources necessary to create jobs in our community.”
In the meantime Mayor Rahm Emanuel is enlisting the support of the Nation of Islam, in the form of an army they are providing to police the streets of Chicago:
For the last two Mondays, black men in dress suits and bow ties fanned out across violence-plagued Chicago neighborhoods — first Auburn-Gresham, then South Shore — to form a human wall of protection against any sudden outbreak of gunfire.
The army of men, know as the Fruit of Islam, were led by Farrakhan, who ordered the show of force in response to last month’s brutal murder of seven-year-old Heaven Sutton.
Emanuel’s decision to steer clear of Farrakhan’s history of anti-Semitic remarks is a far cry from the 1994 controversy that followed former Mayor Richard M. Daley’s private meeting with Farrakhan
