Little background: we'll have mainly french traders, and no fighting, some settlers way out there but this will be mainly about the tribe itself. Consider the time period when posting, it's pre1776 so no revolution or much in way of settlers.

Indian woman

I tended to the cooking fire as news was brought in, a French trader was on his way. He would set up his trading post away from village but was invited to join us for the evening meal and to show us his wares.

I had never met a trader I was always out tending to fields as an unmarried woman. I hoped the hunting party would be back, so that the meal would be filled with stories and fun. I silently wondered which man I would take to my bed. I had yet to choice a lifepartner, and was about to point where I needed to choose.

Chief Thorhammer

The chief was feeling his age. Hunting with the younger braves was no longer the enjoyment it had been when younger. The hunt, however, had been productive. Meat, and some fine pelts for barter with the French traders. The tribe was at peace, with treaties in place with the neighboring Algonquins. Running Wolf, as usual, had excelled in the hunt. He might be a worthy successor.........
