Hottest ever recorded temperature. 135 degree average temperature.

I hope they're watering the lawn.

I hope they have a/c I like it hot, but that is ridiculous.

If I had to live in that I'd be pretty fuckin' pissed at the universe too.....

The high temp was 128 or so. The heat index (temperature and humidity) was above 160.

When I was a lad, they never had this heat index bullshit!

;) ;)

Fucking Red Flag days never existed.

I remember when they were fairly new (Red Flag days, that is) and the colonel at the WTB at Quantico just hated that he couldn't work his Marines in the heat. In the hottest part of the day, he'd go for a run and glare at people who were sitting like they were all a buncha pussies.

I've really been enjoying the the 90 or so degree temps we've been having here, but I can't say that I'd feel the same about 165.

I'm pretty sure that the sadistic bastages that I trained under would have simply ignored it.

I mean, they beat me when they felt like it and they put me into a the barracks armory to fight it out with another boot only opening the door when the sounds of combat died down.

Another minute and I would have killed the idiot with the choke...

:D

But I was a green Gomer Pyle Marine, not one of these newer, more sensitive camo Marines.

;) ;)

No Marine here. Just got to hang out and shoot with them for a few weeks back in the summer of '73. I do not recall camo.

That came about after I finished boot.

;)

They gave us a $30 allowance to buy $200 worth of new uniforms.

I soon found out that you could never starch the fuckers into looking sharp.
