Yikes! Looks like one slipped through! I reported it as well, Charm, just this afternoon. I noted to the webmasters that the underage sex occurs on the 2nd page. I think if some one reviews only the first page, they will dismiss the underage thing as simply being part of an age-play scenario. That might be what happened here.

Anyway, we shall see...

15 year old sex

I am surprised this story was posted. My only guess is, the author used the "reporter relating another person's story" device. It worked for Bram Stoker in the original "Darcula". Maybe Laurel let it pass with that reasoning.

It will be interesting to see if it stays.

I reported it within hours of it being posted and have had not even an acknowledgement of my email.
Several other people have talked about a similar "no reaction" to email to info@literotica.com and I begin to feel that mere readers, and mere posters no longer matter to the "powers that be" as long as the advertisers are happy.
It has happened on other sites, and if it happens here I, for one, will depart (again) to pastures different.

Yes.

My worry is the very tight application of anti-paedophile laws here in the UK. Only yesterday 3rd July a report appeared (www.dailytelegraph.com) of a sixteen-year-old boy looking on the internet for pictures of pretty girls in his own age group, who was prosecuted and convicted for downloading paedophile pictures and was put on the "Sex Offenders Register" because someone sent him child porn pictures which he immediately tried to delete.

Keep in mind Laurel is a busy woman. Her and her husband have JOBS outside of Lit. (I know it may come as a shock to those who live on Lit and are addicted.) Lord only knows how much mail this woman gets a day from story/poetry submission, to questions, concerns, and complaints about Lit, and even personal e-mail from friends and family. Typically ALL mail to her takes some time. I have things I sent even months ago I have never heard about yet. Has anyone tried starting a NEW thread in the Author's Hang Out to get Laurel's attention?

Anytime I have reported a post or thread, I have pmed Laurel and used "underage poster" or whatever in the subject line of the thread.

She responds within a day.

Starting a thread of potentially illegal stories/posts would be a great way to organize this stuff, but would also give anyone checking up on us and easy target.

While we know this stuff happens, I am not sure someone investigating would be too lenient if there were six posts to such a thread in six months time. It isn't much when you consider the volume of stuff that lit includes, but the law is the law.

Regardless, I am sure Laurel will respond and take care of the problem as soon as she is made aware of it.

geeze

I've had stories declined that DIDN'T include underage sex with the reason that they DID have it, so it sort of irritates me that others which did have the underage activity could slip through. However, I agree with tiggs' alternate personality which is too long to type, so I'll stick with "tiggs" even though I could have typed the new name in less time...anyways, Laurel is allowed mistakes from time to time...let's not stone her yet = )

While I can respect that Laurel is busy and has a life outside of Lit, I have heard of folks receiving answers to email and PMs within 24 hours or less. I've not been one of those people. Fact is, none of my emails or PMs to Laurel has ever elicited a response. (This does not include items that I've notified the mods about, of which Laurel may very well have been one)

To start a thread about under age sex to get Laurel's attention? *looking at title of this thread* Hmmm. Seems it has already been done. Or do we need to post a similar thread on each forum in the hopes of acheiving what at the very least two emails have not already done?

I feel I've done what I can. Charm - I used a different email than you have, we'll see who gets a faster response, if any. However, I am not going to sweat it. I, as a rule, do not write about characters under the age of 18 anyway, so it really doesn't impact me as far as what is fair or not.

EDITED to say: Just received notification that my email was received and the story will be taken from the site. I admit - I do have more than one egg all over my face (and I HATE raw eggs!), and owe Laurel a HUGE apology!

Laurel, if you see this - my apologies, and kudos to you!

Other sites to post to

For what it's value, there are other erotic story sites that have no concerns of story subject matter, age restrictions in particular. www.asstr.org has numerous links to webpages where under-age and other banned themes are neither judged nor censored. Not making an issue of what anyone reads or writes, only offering up the options availible.....My compliments and gratitude to Literotica to allow us this forum.

The reason I suggested someone starting a similar thread over in the Author's Hangout is because, to the best of my knowledge, Laurel does not check this board. As is, this thread will turn into a lot of people bitching and nothing being done about it.

You've had NON "kiddie porn" classified as such and denied on Lit?

yes, it involved only characters 18 years and older <specifically reffered to them being over 18> and it was denied due to underage sexual activity. we straightened it out, though...just freaked me out for a few days, there...

Whats the deal anyway...

I don't understand why everyone, especially in this thread, seems to get so upset over stories with underage sex in them -- I think the rule is absurd.

Everything on this site, especially in the stories section is all about fantasies and letting go of inhibitions and limitations, not about really acting on the loosening of restraints, but about thinking about it and conversing with others about it.

I don't understand how a site that condones raping someone -- the Non-consent category -- can then say underage sex is horrible or taboo. If its about not encouraging pedophilia, lets not encourage rape either -- its completely arbitrary and the reason that underage sex is censored on this site is obvious to me -- its not about standards or morals or whats right or wrong -- its about politics and the overseers of the site covering themselves from the backlash of child decency associations everywhere.

Also, underage sex in Literotica terminology encompasses sex that in many places is perfectly legal.

I'm insulted that this is even an issue.

with all the crap going on in the media and the government we just don't want anything to go on that officials can point at and say "see! NOW SHUT THEM DOWN!" cause then...where would we spend our time?

Age of consent

I had a surprise recently, as I live in the moraly-conscious and very sexualy repressive state of Indiana and in such have accepted many socialy enforced 'norms, this new development threw me.....With the arrival of July, the state legislature here announces which new laws were passed in the previous session, seems that now Indiana has lowered the age of consent to fourteen from what had been a very long standing statute of sixteen. We now share something in common with Kentucky other than a river and a few mutualy funded bridges crossing such.....Should this change of thought be viewed as perhaps a lifting of the Puritanical atmosphere or just an admission that one can't legislate morality effectively......

If you think it's "absurd", then don't come back guest. Laurel and Manu have the say in what they want for their site. End of story. If you want kiddie porn, start your own site or good luck finding a FREE kiddie porn story site.

You got that right, MDJ. I was on the General Board last month where a guy posted a similiar thread that I did in February of this year. I stated that he, basically, stole my thread but his defense was that he wasn't on the Lit board in February.

However, he has alot more posts in the few months that he's been in Lit than I, who have been in Lit since about 1999.........LOL.

I would imagine that the underage sex rule has more legal ramifications than it does moral ones. Although I have to say, deflowering 18yo virgins does seem to be a bit absurd to me. When's the last time you ran into an 18yo who hadn't had sex?

For a good author, it can be done...

I think that there are probably a good number of 18 yo virgin's out there. And yes, it CAN be done and it CAN be done well. I'm just not good enough to be the one to do it = )

Under 18

The question about age and sex is tricky, since every state/country has its own laws regarding the legal age for having sex, which effects its citizens opinions about maturity.

Here in Sweden, it's legal to have sex once you've turned 15, but it's illegal to show anyone under the age of 18 in pornographic material. I don't know if it's also illegal to write about 15-17 year old people having sex, but it's usually frowned upon.

However, if Literotica has a rule that says that you mustn't write about people under the age of 18 having sex, then I suggest that we all respect that, and if anyone wants to write about 15-year-olds, then publish them somewhere else.

No fighting with either side - I'm a Swede, remember?
