first hour past midnight, and you are still up, online, why arent you somewhere
writing? Right here is a good place to start. Or not. But if you have the devilish

urge, to cook something up, some 13 o'clock poetry stew, be my guest and post

here, I might post some two

I saw some sites, looking for dark poetry, without light? horror? narrow, wmpty shoe box poetry? shoe poetry? eeeekkkk!! I hate shoes...

is without passion.

Spotlight disappears into the corner
seeps under the cellar door
followed by black shell insects that craw
from this scene

This is the anti-interrogation room
sucking light from your eyes,
we are not interested in your confession
nor your price

have you ever heard the pitch change,
as the circular saw moves
from flesh into bone
motor strains, hesitates,
frequency rises to that
high screech
arm trembles and falls easily
through the other side
motor slows, purrs, sputters...

this is the sound
you will remember

from the blade,
as the light seeps back under the door

O-dark-thirty's come and gone
and Dad says there's no monster
under my bed.
But what about the closet?

There's always something
hidden in that midnight light
in the hall.
I think I saw it move!

Black fingers creep along
beneath the dust ruffle
while gasping breath echoes
in the silent room.

Brilliant tooth-fairy glimmer
sparks behind wide open eyes
until at last the lung explosion
comes and tears leak out.

Now ya did it,
they know you're here.
Whaddya hafta breathe for?
Feet fly across the floor.

Out the door, down the hall,
safety waits in a snoring mound
on the bed.
Can I sleep with you?
