Frustrated Trump reverses himself in 38 minutes during unhinged Saturday evening on Twitter

President Donald Trump reversed his position on sending asylum seekers to sanctuary cities on Saturday.

At 7:30 p.m. in Washington, DC, Trump argued that The New York Times story reporting he was considering sending asylum seekers to sanctuary cities was “knowingly wrong on almost every fact.”

At 8:08 p.m. — thirty-eight minutes later — Trump threatened to do exactly what he’d just denied considering.

Biographer David Cay Johnston rips into detractors who didn’t heed his warnings about ‘dictator Trump’

An author who literally wrote the book on Donald Trump’s shady financial history went off on detractors who failed to heed his warnings even prior to 2016.

Pulitzer winner David Cay Johnston told CNN’s Ana Cabrera Saturday that the laws governing the release of presidential tax returns are “incredibly clear” — and noted that Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is “really sticking his neck out” and risking jail time in his refusal to cooperate with congressional investigators seeking to get them.

“Why would he be willing to potentially go to jail, potentially be removed from office by rejecting this request from the house ways and means committee?” Cabrera asked Johnston.

“Because Donald Trump appoints people who either lack moral character or who are willing to pledge personal loyalty to him,” the biographer said.

Why are all of those Trumpers this deep in the Trump shit (and with a view of how he treats his subordinates) still suckling him? Don't they have any sense of self-preservation whatsoever?

New panic at White House after briefing on Mueller report: ‘There is significant concern’ over obstruction

White House officials have reportedly been struck with “significant concern” after they were briefed on special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation report.

ABC’s Jonathan Karl revealed on Sunday that officials at the White House now know what’s in the Mueller report.

“They have been briefed but I’m told in broad brush strokes,” Karl explained. “They’ve been briefed enough to know that the White House will not invoke executive privilege to try to get further redactions.”

“But there is significant concern on the president’s team about what will be in this report,” he noted.

“Even the stuff that will be un-redacted?” ABC News host George Stephanopoulos asked.

“Yes,” Karl clarified. “There is significant concerns about what will be in here — new information — on the obstruction of justice question, what the president was doing regarding some of the big questions.”

Pucker Factor 11! "OMG he's guilty!"

:D:D

I await the color-coded redactions in the Mueller report, made with ink that’s easy to read through.

What a surprise. (to the Trumpettes)

Stephen Miller was furious Trump’s own officials are taking so long to implement illegal policies

President Donald Trump’s officials are taking far too long to come up with a way to bar all undocumented immigrants from entering the United States.

According to the New York Times, senior White House aide Stephen Miller is “furious – again,” because administration officials are taking so long to carry out Trump’s demands, which violate the Constitution.

A New York Times piece last week revealed that Trump’s biggest problem with his Homeland Security leadership was that they would tell him they couldn’t do things because it was against the law. Trump didn’t care; he wanted his demands met.

Ohio swing voters are turning away from Trump — but the Democrat they like isn’t even allowed to run

Ohio voters who backed President Donald Trump in 2016 but voted for Democrats in the past say they want a return to normalcy, but their preferred candidate isn’t even allowed to run for the White House.

A recent focus group in Bowling Green that included 12 swing voters — half of whom voted for Mitt Romney in 2012 and then backed Hillary Clinton, and half who backed Barack Obama and flipped to Trump — are ready for change but nostalgic for the recent past, reported Axios.

Five out of six Obama/Trump voters said they would vote for the last president again, if he wasn’t constitutionally barred from running again.

Trump lawyers look ‘desperate to hide’ his taxes in latest letter to Treasury Department: legal expert

Legal expert Susan Hennessey on Monday mocked President Donald Trump’s legal team for its latest effort to block the release of his tax returns with a letter to the Treasury Department that she said reeked of desperation.

In the letter written to U.S. Treasury Department general counsel Brent McIntosh, attorney William Consovoy argued that the law does not actually state that the Treasury Department shall hand over any American citizen’s tax returns upon request from the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, despite stating clearly that “upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means… the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request.”

“Highlighting the word ‘shall’ is a talking point, not a serious legal argument,” Consovoy argued.

Where are the Marshals, subpoenas and handcuffs? There are supposed to be handcuffs in law enforcement!

William Barr misled Congress the last time he summarized a controversial legal report

Just Security reports, Barr has a history of misleading Congress.

“On Friday the thirteenth October 1989, by happenstance the same day as the “Black Friday” market crash, news leaked of a legal memo authored by William Barr,” writes Ryan Goodman.

“He was then serving as head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). It is highly uncommon for any OLC memo to make headlines. This one did because it was issued in ‘unusual secrecy’ and concluded that the FBI could forcibly abduct people in other countries without the consent of the foreign state. The headline also noted the implication of the legal opinion at that moment in time. It appeared to pave the way for abducting Panama’s leader, Gen. Manuel Noriega,” he writes.

When members of Congress asked to see the full legal document, Barr pledged to give an account that ‘summarizes the principal conclusions.’

Trump’s Interior secretary under ethics investigation — less than a week after his confirmation

Less than a week after President Donald Trump’s new Interior Secretary David Bernhardt was confirmed by the Senate, the agency’s inspector general has opened an investigation into him, according to The New York Times.

Bernhardt, a former agricultural and oil lobbyist who served as deputy secretary under his predecessor Ryan Zinke, is the subject of complaints from eight Democratic senators and four ethics watchdog organizations.

Here we go again!

Republican Bill Weld announces primary campaign against Donald Trump

On Monday, Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld (R) announced that he is running for president in 2020.

“Ours is a nation built on courage, resilience, and independence. In these times of great political strife, when both major parties are entrenched in their ‘win at all cost’ battles, the voices of the American people are being ignored and our nation is suffering,” Weld said in a statement on Monday.

Oh how will the Trumpster react to being primaried?

Putin's Favorite Oligarch Investing His Unsanctioned Rubles In ... Kentucky?

Approximately five minutes after the US Treasury ignored Congress and lifted sanctions on the Deripaska-owned aluminum giants RUSAL and En+, the companies are partnering with local Braidy Industries to open up a huge new aluminum plant in Kentucky. No doubt Mitch McConnell, who's up in 2020, and Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin, up this fall, are grateful for the boost. How generous of the Russians to keep helping Republicans out with these pesky elections, huh? No wonder both Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell voted against extending those sanctions. Oh, look! Here's Senator Integrity himself going on the Fox Realest Real News network to lobby for better relations between those poor, misunderstood Russians and patriotic Americans.

And speaking of whores, we see you, Kentucky trying to depress turnout with this off-off-year election shit. BUT WE DIGRESS.

Trump’s trade war with China has crippled farmers, consumers and now the tech industry: report

A report by Bloomberg illustrates in hard cold numbers the devastating effect the trade policies of President Donald Trump have had on the national economy– stretching from the soybean fields of the midwest to Silicon Valley.

According to the report, Trump’s tariffs and threats of economic retribution against America’s trade partners have crippled the economy as prices have increased — ultimately hitting consumers in the pocketbook.

Congressman rips Trump for allegedly offering his own officials pardons to break the law: ‘That’s lawlessness, not America’

On Tuesday, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, laid into President Donald Trump on CNN’s “OutFront” over allegations that he offered his Customs and Border Protection Chief a pardon in return for illegally sealing the border to asylum seekers.

“He does not have the absolute right to close the border,” said Cohen to host Erin Burnett. “There are laws, the Immigration and Naturalization Act which requires asylum seekers to be offered an opportunity to come to the country and to have a hearing. So he can’t close it to them. But there’s international laws as well. That’s as far as the law.”

Trumpers Scared Of Mad Daddy When He Finds Out What They Told Robert Mueller

THE DAY OF THE BIGGEST COVER-UP OF ALL IS NIGH! It is on Thursday! We are all anticipating the release of whatever Sharpied bullshit version of the Mueller report Attorney General Bill Barr has decided deletes just enough Trump crimes -- both the obstruction kind and the kind that involves bad behavior with the Russians that for whatever reason Robert Mueller decided he couldn't prove rose to the level of a grand conspiracy. (And we will be live-blogging the release! That's right, we are going to liveblog NOTHINGNESS.)

And as the week goes on, we are starting to hear just how freaked out everybody in TrumpLand is, because they know that even 400 pages of fully redacted ink will make them look super fucking bad. (Especially 400 pages of fully redacted ink, actually.) Trump has been on the Twitter stepping on rakes like he always does, live-tweeting his fear and lamentations for days now. We got news this weekend that the White House is particularly freaked about what former White House counsel Don McGahn, who spent at least 30 hours with the special counsel, told Mueller's team.
-

Today, when you say your thoughts 'n' prayers, try to take a moment to remember these poor souls. Or, you know, fuck that, and just rejoice in their misery.

TICK TOCK UNTIL THURSDAY, ASSHOLES.

What will the redaction color scheme be? Red, white and blue? Yellow, cyan and magenta? Pastels in an Easter theme?

Non-sense; none of us trumpettes are worried about the Mueller report. You should be very concerned about 2020, the left's belligerence and the inability for democratic lawmakers to govern is going to cost you. TDS will be your demise. The american people don't care about the Mueller report. Constant complaining doesn't change policy or laws, legislating does. The democratic party will not beat Sanders (socialist) Let me ask you this, do you really want all of these foreigners allowed into our country without being vetted? I wonder who you would blame if a city was attacked with a dirty bomb rendering useless for 50,000 years or some kind of a pathogen released among the populous possibly killing millions. That threat is out there. Overwhelming our border to the point of not knowing who enter's is suicidal. Most rational people fear that possibility but until it happens we ignore the possibility.

Non-sense; none of us trumpettes are worried about the Mueller report. Y-.

Balder fucking dash! I am not afraid of your fear mongering. I am afraid that if we don't apply our own laws equally that we will lose them all together. If we let Trumpster erode our government systems and post his toadies all over the place we do more damage to ourselves that the 9/11 terrorists ever did.

If we had lined the Neo-Cons up against the wall for their war crimes and enforced our international treaties we would not be in this mess.

If the FBI had been watching the fuckery of all the Manaforts and nailed them for it years ago we would not be in this mess. If the Justice Department had enforced the fraud charges against Trump U and put Trump in jail for his fraud, we'd all be bitching about President Jeb!

You don't have to fear my fear mongering but you'd best be aware of the threats around us. There are people out there that would just as soon slit your throat than look at you, regardless of your political affiliations. The people that attacked us on 911 had they had a nuclear device or some deadly pathogen they would have used it.
There are three branches of government, all independant and all have overlapping responsibilities and oversight. So, I'm sure you're including Barack Obama as a neo-con; right? because he sanctioned quite a few drone strikes in his day. Manafort is going to jail under Trump's admin, what more do you want. Your not saying Obama's admin should have caught Manafort. Trump U, how about the Clintons pay for play scheme with their foundation, after all they left the white house broke and now they're multi millionaires. I wonder how many classified bits of info got into enemy hands because of conducting state business on an unsecured server?

If the Justice Department had enforced the fraud charges against Trump U and put Trump in jail for his fraud, we'd all be bitching about President Jeb!

I certainly would be far happier bitching about President Jeb.

Barr to release ‘lightly redacted’ Mueller report with ‘detailed blow-by-blow’ of Trump’s conduct

‘More than inappropriate’: CNN panel crushes Bill Barr for helping Trump spin the Mueller report

MSNBC’s Morning Joe drops the hammer on Bill Barr as ‘unfit’ — and challenges Dems to do something about him

Bill Barr is probably wondering why he wanted to be AG, if all he's going to get is a sore bum. He hasn't released the report yet and is being pilloried for supposed crimes. Wait until this afternoon and the press will be picking his bones on the Capital Hill!

:)

Pelosi and Schumer call for Mueller to publicly testify on Trump’s ties to Russia

“Attorney General (William) Barr’s regrettably partisan handling of the Mueller report,” the Democratic leaders said, “including his slanted March 24th summary letter, his irresponsible testimony before Congress last week, and his indefensible plan to spin the report in a press conference later this morning — hours before he allows the public or Congress to see it — have resulted in a crisis of confidence in his independence and impartiality.”

They offered one solution to boost public confidence in the investigation into President Donald Trump’s campaign ties to Russia.

“We believe the only way to begin restoring public trust in the handling of the Special Counsel’s investigation is for Special Counsel Mueller himself to provide public testimony in the House and Senate as soon as possible,” they said. “The American people deserve to hear the truth.”

:) Sounds fine to me. It's Muller's Report on his investigation and he should present it to Congress and the Public in his own words. After that the spin misters can get all wound up and generate the click bait. :D

‘This is cowardice’: Many outraged after ‘feckless’ Steny Hoyer declares ‘impeachment’ still ‘not worthwhile’

Many are outraged after Democratic House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) declared that even after everything revealed in the Mueller report, impeachment of President Donald Trump is off the table.

“Based on what we have seen to date, going forward on impeachment is not worthwhile at this point,” Leader Hoyer told CNN’s Dana Bash. “Very frankly, there is an election in 18 months and the American people will make a judgement.”

Tom Scocca @tomscocca

Truly amazing to see the Democrats extend their theory of "People will get mad at us if we do the things we're supposed to believe in" to encompass not just things like poverty relief or healthcare but the basic requirements of the constitution

Hoyer is willing to let the Trumpster ride until the People rise up and remove him, because he has not the stones to take on a difficult task. If the people have to do all the work to guide the Republic why do we need Hoyer to stand on the sidelines wringing his hands crying, "Oh Dear, Oh Dear, won't someone clean up this shit?"
