10 ways your brain sabotages your writing

My biggest problem with writing erotic fiction results from my background in computer languages (LISP (not a speech defect, but a high-level programming language popular with AI (Artificial Intelligence) researchers) in particular, because of it's recursive nature, which utilizes often deeply-nested stack frames (executable data constructs which redirect process flow (not unlike the sentence you are reading now) to reduce verbosity (unnecessary syntactic complexity (a parsing algorithm's worst nightmare)) at the expense of human (as opposed to compiler) readability)) coupled with an inexhaustible supply (by most people's standards (whether they voice them or not (not that I care (would you?)))) of cheap vodka.

I have had to go back and rewrite sentences like that for the reading-impared.

damn that LISP is sexy.

Damn fine articles. They really go to the heart of the matter when it comes to not writing. Both the 'Curse of Knowledge' and 'Information Addiction' are my personal bete noire(s) when I'm writing, but I'm working on that. ;)

Sigh. Procrastination and then frenzied adrenaline-high writing is my friend.
