I just watched a kid drive by talking on a-ok get this-CB radio! Man, that brought back some memories. It was like the equivilant of the cell phone back when I was in high school. We used to have contest, seeing who could broadcast further. Mine was an American Radio 40 channel SSB USB. Loved the Single Side and Upper Side Bands. You could talk for miles. Did any one else play with CB's?

My handle was Bojangles.

<singing> Mr. Booooo-jangles.

Oops!

We still use them...we have cell phones but...also use the CB's. They come in handy when we are hunting or just out and about in the Snolqualmie mtns...as you don't always have range with the cell phones.

Hubbies handle is "Outlaw" and mine is "giggles" yes...okay I laugh alot...makes it handy when you're tellin' a joke! Give me a drink and I'll giggle if you say hi!

Yeah...I rememeber them being cool in my day, too! God I'm getting old....*sob* I guess it's better than the alternative but.....not much!! LOL!

OMFGI just realized if you put all of my post together between the past few days....you will glean from them that I am a...a....a...a...white, redneck, hillbilly, who can't dance, but can hunt and uses a CB....OMG I have to go rework my profile! :D

Ambros, I still own a CB, though it's not a fancy one. It's just a Uniden hand held with a "bull tail" antenna on it. I used to spend afternoons, once school was out, cruising the back roads and talking on the CB. Hell, in fact, Ezzie did it a lot too! ;) Hee hee hee...

Him being a trucker... we still have one and we use it. My handle is *grumble grumble* "Attilla"

I used to have one that I only used on long trips. I remember a night drive across Ohio with a trucker talking the whole way about looking down my wife's dress. The guy offered to buy us breakfast, but we were in too much of a hurry to stop.

Oh god (hangs head) years ago (like 15) my handle was Snow White.

Mine was *Charlie Brown*

My girlfriend at the time was *Snoopy*

Our sign off was *Gotta go play hide the bone with my dog*

Hey, I'm only 22 and I've got a CB in my truck! ok, granted I don't use it much, but I would if it weren't in such a weird spot. (Behind the drivers seat.) I'm thinking about having my dad move it, cause I remember how much fun I used to have with em! And ok, I'll tell ya the handle my parents (wrestler & wrestler's angel) gave me, *really rotten* I shit you not! ~giggles~ I think if I'm going to start using my CB more I'm getting a new handle! Hum... this brings back some memories though... every year my grandparents used to have CB cookouts, and everyone that we talked to on the CB but never really got to see would come up and we'd sit by the fire & roast marshmellows & tell stories, and us kids would go play hide & seek in the junk yard. (~L~ ok, ya might be a redneck if your family owns a junk yard.) Hey, I'm not kidding, we actually did, had a tow truck and everything. Ok, I'm going now... :)

I've gone by the handles "Panther" and "Tiggs". ~sigh~ I guess I'm not too creative. lol

LOL The CB is still a practical form of communication for truckers. I used to have a home base with a 60' antenna attached to the side of my home. Used to talk to some people from incredible places. LOL and its much cheaper than talking on the phone!
