For casting DAvid Arquette and Carrot Top in their commercials, and then ensuring that they run on every channel, ninety times an hour, they should pay. Brutally.

I suggest a thousand hours of "Muskrat Love" on loop, on headphones, at 150 decibels.

Or having to engage in a reasoned debate with yoyotwat.

That's for starters.

The only reason I'm not kiling them slowly and deliberately is beause they had the good sense to cast Mr. T. He's damned funny.

Sweetie,

Me thinks you watch too much television!

:D

I admit to being a TV-aholic. I'm not home a lot, necessarily, but more often than not, when I am, it's on. I live alone, and the mindless chatter is kind of reassuring.

I do turn it off at times to listen to some choice CDs. But, unfortunately, that damned commercial runs through every one of my favorite programs!!

Whooooweeee I agree. And I do watch too much TV there isn't much else to do.

Carrot Top claims Charlotte as his home town. Se we get a lot of him in our local media.

Who ever writes those commercials needs to be punished.

Who ever schedules those commercials needs to be punished.

They suck. They annoy. And they are on all the time, all day, all night.

They won't go away!

I like Marlon Wayan better. He's funnier.
Carrot Top is corny but he was pretty funny when he was on "The Weakest Link".

I turned on the television out of desperation to kill the insomnia a couple of nights ago, and I finally saw one of these infamous commercials. I agree with JazzMan on this, Muskrat Love, or maybe Celine Dion, "My Heart Will Go On" as done by Carrot Top, might be appropriate. Whatever the reasoning was, I'm dialing 0 the next time I have to make a collect call, just out of spite.

I see 1-800-COLLECT and JMJ as the thread starter and my first thought is uh-oh, he didn't read his whole phone sex thread.

And then it's all about those damn annoying commercials.......

This is just not right.

:D

I don't like carrot top either

BUT.... the commercials obviously work. Even here, there is a thread about 1800COLLECT with over 130 page views in the past 20 minutes alone. And that didn't cost them a dime.

I have heard, that when it comes to advertising, any attention provided it is not "stomach turning" negative, is good. In this case, everyone who sees the commericials even remembers the phone number.....

I'd say their commercials are briliant....... I hate them, but they obviously work....

How about dropping a quarter into the phone to make the call... It will be cheaper...

How much is it to make a call in the states???

Problem is, long distance calls are not just a quarter, and most people don't think to carry a phone card around with them. It's also anywhere from 35 cents to 50 cents to make a local, 15 minute, call from a payphone these days. For long distance from a pay phone, your best bet is a prepaid phone card. There are ones that are 1 cents a minute, up to 10 cents, or even more a minute. The best bet I've found is the 7-11 prepaid phone card. 7-11 phone cards come in $5, $10, and $20 dollar amounts, and are 1.9 cents a minute with a 79 cents connection fee. Other charges may apply for making a call from a payphone.
