A racing legend is being mourned here in GA, where NASCAR is taken very seriously. One ol' boy said that losing Dale was as big as when Elvis died. There are tributes, wakes, and people are snatching up all of the Dale stuff they can grab. Convenience store across the state are flying their Slurpee flags at half mast.

Good bye, Sweet Intimidator. Georgia misses ya'.

<sniff>

A good friend of mine is a Nascar fanatic- specifically, a Dale Earnhardt fanatic. I had no clue what to say to him yesterday to cheer him up. What do you say to someone whose hero died?

For my friend, I copied 3 or 4 posts from the Earnhardt thread here (starting with Vi's) and sent them to him in an email. Kind of like a mini eulogy. I hope it helps.

Afternoon Ambrosious...What a way to start the racing season off...
