🔮 What are you doing right now? 🔮

Hello, friends! What are you all up to now? I’m watching a Hallmark movie on bed and crocheting pet bandannas for charity. The baby bird is doing well! She’s eating every three hours now. My dad and I like the name Isabella for her.

Oh no, you too?? It‘s the biggest pile of poop and I hate it with a passion. Access is so old it is not supported anymore by Microsoft. Yet it is still used….
Not true, the latest version is still supported Access '21 and I would suspect that Access '19 is also still supported.

Access hasn’t been supported for a long time. I still use it but barely.
Nope it is supported.

That sucks.... is there a reason why they wouldn't pivot to SQL Server or Power BI, which are Microsoft products?
Just my opinion but Access is actual a pretty good relational db for a small business, SQL server although way more powerful is also a lot more expensive to operate and maintain.

According to Google, Access is still supported. Access 2016 isn’t as of last month, but Access 2024 is “in development” (you’d think they’d finish it before stopping support for the old one!)
There is Access 2019 and Access 2021, which are still supported, 2016 is almost 10 years old so I would think it's right that it's no longer supported.

I think, if it's something that interests you, learning to set-up a relational db and understanding how it works can only be beneficial in the long term and maybe you could find you way to become an Oracle consultant and then join the lifestyles of the rich and famous 😂😂

Most of the rich and famous are total asswipes.
Were they always asswipes?
Or did their fame and/or riches change them into being an asswipe?

I know… it’s just not supported by my employer. We’re too cheap!
