Welcome my fine feathered friends.
I present another Badamy thread.
This time it will have useless and random facts...or not.

So...you can ask me anything about ducks.

And I'll share nifty things!

What are the very bare bone facts we should start with, so that we can establish a foundation of knowledge to build upon?

Would you rather fight a horse-sized duck, or 40 duck-sized horses?

Are duck eggs better than chicken eggs?

Do they mind you taking their eggs?

When do you know when a duck wants to reproduce?

How many drakes do you have?

I suppose you would want to know whether or not you want to have them. Then will they be a pet...or dinner?

Tough call. It can change on a dime.
Trust me.

When you duck, how low do you go?

Have you ever had to duck and not gone low enough?

Is it sometimes better to jump than duck?

And to borrow from the Marx Brothers, "Why a duck?"

Duck eggs are more nutritionally dense than chicken eggs. More protein and generally bigger in size.

The ducks don't care that I take their eggs. I talk to them at night and tell them the quota for the next morning. They usually deliver. ( No kidding).

Once they hit maturity about 7ish weeks, depending on the breed, they are ready to get it on.

So I keep them separated. I'm not doing that shit.
I have about 8 drakes, 9 hens. But really there is only one Drake....

It's not why...
But when...

Well, damn...? Can I hold and pet them?

Ducks are more cold.weather hearty than chickens. They love the snow. One thing....they have little vascular activity to keep their feet warm, so despite them loving to sit in the snow...they can and will get frostbite.

Oh yes. Even as farm animals. They will imprint on you.
They are super affectionate, very nosey, they chatter with one another and will talk to you.demand things. Try hard to lobby for more outside time.

Fun fact...dried mealworms are duck crack.
No shit.
I have amazing leverage with a cup full in my hand.
