“Uncle” comes to town (mind control)

Stacie is pretty excited: her uncle is visiting!

Only thing is, she doesn’t have an uncle. Any time she or her family try to think where he came from, they suddenly lose interest in thinking about it. But hey, it’s okay, while he keeps to himself, she always feels good when she talks to him and he’s even helping her with her with some of her problems at school, including getting her a couple girlfriends who she thought were unattainable.

Yeah it’s a bit odd that he has so many lovers over, including some of her classmates, but hey, he’s a bit of a player, nothing wrong with that. Now, time for her and her mom to give him a good oil massage.

Idea: what if there was a guy with mind control abilities or tech who travelled from town to town, setting up shop with a well to do family as their “uncle.” He stays for about a month, then heads out.

I figured though that the story would be told from the people he’s controlling, who are unaware that they are controlled and keep making up lies to fill in inconsistencies.

For limits, I figure the guy has to make physical contact with someone to make his commands last more than a day and needs to keep having contact with someone to make his control long term. So that’s why he sets up shop as opposed to just being constantly on the move.

At the same time, he tries to treat his “host family” well. Sure, he’ll use their stuff and have sex with them if they’re his type...but he’ll try to make their lives a a bit better by the time he leaves and won’t be overtly cruel, either because he likes to think he still has a moral compass or because they eventually will gain a resistance to his abilities (which is why he only stays a month) so giving them happier memories of the experience means they’re more likely to play along even if his control is weaker.

I think this is a very nice idea that may result in a story I would like to read.

Why he have to move, one way could be the fading effectiveness/resistance of his ability, the other that things just get progressively more complicated as he let way to his desires. When the absurdity becomes more and more obvious, he just disappears. Another might be, that he is actually on the run from some other force, perhaps a lettersoup agency after his tech or abilities, so he have to both blend in and disappear from time to time, but each (or specifically this) time he hopes this may be where he will be able to settle, and that adds to why he is trying to be tame and good to his hosts.

I think the hottest part is his arrival, and how the house rules seamlessly change from coldish accommodating of a little creepy stranger to unquestioning catering to every his whim. For example, after a short while no one bats an eye that daughter's classmate and new best friend moves in with Uncle, and neither of the girls wear much if anything at home anymore, like they wasn't there when shyness was distributed. I mean, the new normal can include elements that would be absurd at start and probably feel like that after he's gone, but in the meantime it is just how things are, unquestioned.

What kind of story?

For a stroker, mind-control without consequences for the controller is fine.

For a drama, the controller should pay a price: Each mental 'push' costs some bit of health-lifespan-vigor-appearance-etc. Their MC shield shows 'normals' an attractive figure, not the wretched spectre they've become. And MC powers fade with age unless replenished by sucking souls -- i.e. psychic vampirism.

Stroker MC is magic. Dramatic MC is tragic. I like the idea of the controller on the run from greater magic, whose mages can sniff-out any MC action within range. 'Uncle' had best not radiate fully. How strong a field can he emit without the witchhunters finding him? Maybe he should stick to subtly twisting emotions, not dictating actions -- a gentle "love me", not a strong "fuck me".

Just my thoughts.

Uncle is a vampire

"Uncle" is an three hundred year old vampire who is being hunted by a descendant of Van Helsing.
He travels from town to town staying barely one step ahead of the beautiful but deadly
Vilma Van Helsing.

Uncle picks an attractive, middle aged woman to hypnotize into
believing that he is a long lost relative who is in town for a few months and needs
a place to stay. Once he is invited into a home, he quickly hypnotizes every family member
and convinces them all that he is Uncle Draco from Romania.

None of the family members question why Uncle Draco always wears a full length coat,
leather jeans, gloves, a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses during the day.
They also don't wonder why the males in the family all seem to be so weak
and pale all of a sudden.

Meanwhile, the females all swoon when he walks in the room.
Draco's vampire body emits a powerful pheromone that makes all women horny.
When he starts to feel that Vilma Van Helsing is getting close to discovering
his whereabouts, he will move on to another no name town and begin the
process all over again.
