Interesting. I thought all senior politicians in the US had to at least pretend to be Christian. Does this man not believe in the concept of forgiveness?

For him to say he does not personally forgive is one thing, though I can't see how it affects him so personally. For him to say it is unforgivable is false theology - if he makes any claims to be Christian, that is - since it precludes the possibility of God's forgiveness. It's tantamount to heresy, if not blasphemy.
