I find myself going more modern-day - Justified but with a PI rather than a Marshall. The big city ain't the one place with a claim to the corrupt and broken.

Does it have to be a new story?
Do you have an existing one you want in? Really, I think it should be a new story, or it becomes more like a rehash.
Can something be 90% noir and 10% fantasy and horror?
Which version of that good bit of music ?
I don't know how you people who have written 100+ stories on this site do it. I know that my story is going to get three Anonymous comments. "Why did you write a noir? I hate noirs-one star", "There should never be violence, this is a sex story site- reported.", and "There needs to be more violence and everyone should have got raped-1 star."
I started mine for that Amorous Goods event back in October but ran out time, so it has an occult vibe. Plus, the possible plot twist is that the PI is a ghost unknowning investigating his own murder, which does not fit the noir style. That would have changed the whole story of 'I,Jury' completely if in the final scene he found out, completely out of no where, that it was shape shifters or he was the guy killed at the beginning.
Can something be 90% noir and 10% fantasy and horror? I am hoping it does and that there is another Amorous Goods so whatever I throw together can be in both.
If something starts out a standard PI noir murder plot, most of it continues to be a standard noir mystery right up to the point towards the end when the characters realized they've entered the Twilight Zone, was it ever really noir at all?

"There should never be violence, this is a sex story site- reported."
I apologize if this question is already answered, but can submissions to this competition be in any category?
I am addicted to noir. I'd already read a number of the Mike Hammer novels. The plot almost always includes a femme fatale, one that turns out to be the leader of crime. All through the story Mike Hammer says that when he finds the person behind everything he'll kill them... and well, he does.
"Kiss me, Deadly"
I will have to practice a lot to have enough skill to write it.
September 2021, right?
"I was sitting at my desk when a sultry blonde walked into my office and pointed a pair of 38s at me. She also had a gun."
You have it ready for when the site says it's ready to take submissions, then follow instructions. Keep an eye on this thread, coz it will tell you when and what.OK, so once I write, and post into whatever category seems best to me, how do I actually sign the story up as an entry?

Stand alone story, yes.Just wanted to double-check.
This is for a single-story, correct? Not a series? I only ask because one of the main tropes of these kinds of stories is the chapter cliffhangers that can be used to great effect when done well.
