Supposedly it is real this time. At least they are thinking of a series instead of cramming everything into one film.

well, i can't speak for everyone, but i'm fucking sick of remakes, reboots and rehashes. also, i got about fifteen maybe twenty minutes into the ghost in the shell movie before i zoned out and stopped caring, so, yeah, western remakes of anime classics really don't seem like a great idea to me at the moment.
