Bakersfield prostitute strips attacker and takes him to police
(12-18) 09:59 PST BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) --

A skinny rapist met his match in an angry, 275-pound prostitute, police said.

Adrian Castillo Ramirez, 140 pounds, allegedly tried to sexually assault a 24-year-old Bakersfield prostitute who was nearly twice his weight.

But she took his knife, stripped him naked and paraded him in front of other prostitutes, after asking how many of them had ever been forced into sex at knifepoint. Then she tried to take him -- still naked -- to the police station, reports said.

Castillo was charged with failing to register as a sex offender, and with committing forcible sex acts on the 24-year-old and on a 37-year-old woman in a previous incident. He also was convicted of four counts of rape in 1988.

Castillo pleaded innocent Wednesday, and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail, police said.

Wow. He must have a rich fantasy life if he thought he could force her to do anything.

Go girl!

Perdi,

What is/are Putas and how is the word pronounced?

Puta is mexican for whore, I believe..

Leaving this wide open for 'dita to correct me, I think it's pronounced 'poota'

Dear Perdita,
I heard about that on the radio. They said the lady was a 270 pounder. Senor Castillo should have picked on someone his own size. Seems they used his car, ran out of gas on the way to the police station, and he tried to get her charged with carjacking. Ah, Bakersfield. What a garden spot!
MG
Ps. Raphy: I think she said, "Life to the whore," "More power to the whore," or something like that. Never can tell with them latinas, though.

I've only once passed through Bakersfield, on my way to Vegas. I can't say as I found it's gardens particularly memorable :)

And thanks, MG. I had no idea what she said in total, just a vague memory that 'puta' meant 'whore'

My memory of dockyard Spanish suggests that "puta" can be pronounced in a number of ways.

It can be an awed complimentary comment as "In the street she was modest but in bed she acted like a puta."

From memory I think I heard it most as an expletive spat out with venom. If the speaker was referring to one of your female relations his accidental death by impaling himself on your knife could be classified as "death as a result of his unsafe personal behaviour" or the French "Crime passionelle".

Og

PS: I'd translate it as "Up the Whores!" or "Whores rule, OK".

My fellow putaites. Raff's pronunciation is correct, and yes, puta means whore. The full word is putana. If you call a man a puta you mean he's a fag.

"Que viven las putas" means, non-literally, "Long live the whores!"

putanically, Perdita*

*aka Mexchick thanks to Yorkshire Gollum :p
