"Hollywood sources tell LA Weekly columnist Nikki Finke that former President Ronald Reagan's medical condition has suddenly worsened. "He really took a downslide today," the insider told Finke Friday evening. "Doctors are at the house. Things aren't good." At the start of the day, several news organizations chased down a rumor that the ex-president had died, but it wasn't true... Family members gathered at the Reagan's Bel Air home late Friday"

He lived a long productive life. Never agreed with his politics since he was Gov of California. But I certainly wish suffering on no-one.

I watched my grandfather go from Alzheimers and in the end it was a blessing and we celebrated all the good he gave to so many.

I was still leaning Democrat when he was in office. Hated everything Republican and believed all the press, especially about Nancy.

In retrospect, I may have been mis-informed by the media I trusted with way too much naivetee...

I will be glad when his family's suffering is over.

I certainly didn't agree with his politics either, but this is not political. I happend upon this on Drudge this morning and figured I would pass it along. He was a major figure in US History. I hope that if this is accurate that he can finally be at peace.

yep. agreed.

Thanks CNCG I will pray for Both Him and his family ...

why do all the Good Presidents have to go and the EVIL ones ( Bush) get to stay?? makes no sense...*sigh*

I liked Reagan...

I liked the way he faced down Gorbechev and the 'Evil Empire' and I liked the way he conned everyone with his 'Star Wars' project and I liked the way he took a bullet from a would be assassin and was almost fully fit within weeks and most of all...

I liked the way he talked to people not down to them...

He used his actors skills of course but his foreign policy wasn't bad either...

If he does go soon, let it be swift and painless...

Sad news indeed...morning Studley.

There are times when decent people put politics aside in appreciation of our common humanity.

This has been a long, hard struggle for him and his family. If it is soon to end, as it seems it is, I wish nothing but peace for them.

I liked Reagan
Not all his politics...but I think he was a decent man at heart
and no one fucked with the U.S while he was in office.

He will be remembered as a major political figure

"My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing will begin in five minutes. "

LOL! That was special.

It is so nice to see people who may not agree ....agree with one thing....

May his passing from this life be easier than the past few years have been for him..

You have to admire the man's sense of humor and they way he could communicate with people...Wasn't he called the Great Communicator??

:)

I have never liked Reagan or his politics. However, I did always see him as trying to do what he thought was best for the country. I could debate what some people have said about him, but this is not really appropriate at this time.

I hope his passing will be slow enough for his family to say good-bye, but quickly enough for him (and them) not to suffer any more.

Hugs,

Kat

His fatherly advice wasn't too bad either..

Dear Mike:

You've heard all the jokes that have been rousted around by all the "unhappy marrieds" and cynics. Now, in case no one has suggested it, there is another viewpoint. You have entered into the most meaningful relationship there is in all human life. It can be whatever you decide to make it.

Some men feel their masculinity can only be proven if they play out in their own life all the locker-room stories, smugly confident that what a wife doesn't know won't hurt her. The truth is, somehow, way down inside, without her ever finding lipstick on the collar or catching a man in the flimsy excuse of where he was till three a.m., a wife does know, and with that knowing, some of the magic of this relationship disappears. There are more men griping about marriage who kicked the whole thing away themselves than there can ever be wives deserving of blame.

There is an old law of physics that you can only get out of a thing as much as you put in it. The man who puts into the marriage only half of what he owns will get that out. Sure, there will be moments when you will see someone or think back on an earlier time and you will be challenged to see if you can still make the grade, but let me tell you how really great is the challenge of proving your masculinity and charm with one woman for the rest of your life. Any man can find a twerp here and there who will go along with cheating, and it doesn't take all that much manhood. It does take quite a man to remain attractive and to be loved by a woman who has heard him snore, seen him unshaven, tended him while he was sick, and washed his dirty underwear. Do that and keep her still feeling a warm glow and you will know some very beautiful music.

If you truly love a girl, you shouldn't ever want her to feel, when she sees you greet a secretary or a girl you both know, that humiliation of wondering if she was someone who caused you to be late coming home, nor should you want any other woman to be able to meet your wife and know she was smiling behind her eyes as she looked at her, the woman you love, remembering this was the woman you rejected even momentarily for her favors.

Mike, you know better than many what an unhappy home is and what it can do to others. Now you have a chance to make it come out the way it should. There is no greater happiness for a man than approaching a door at the end of a day knowing someone on the other side of that door is waiting for the sound of his footsteps.

Love, Dad.

P.S. You'll never get in trouble if you say "I love you" at least once a day.

One of my favorite quotes..

"Sometimes our right hand doesn't know what our far right hand is doing."

Alzheimer's disease is a horrible disease for everyone involved. I wish the family peace.

My grandmother's twin died last year from Alzheimer's. It was horrible. She was one of the nicest people on the planet. In the end, she didn't know a single person.

I miss my aunt cathy.
