I'd like to start a big, sort-of fantasy thread about a girl who is taken hostage from our time by two brothers from another (time? dimension? whatever?). A devastating war rages in their homeland. They're being ruthlessly conquered by a military force called The Castle. The two brothers, notorious thieves, have been promised lifetime immunity from the law if they bring back this girl. She has something that can stop The Castle dead in their tracks.

The story would start with Afton, the girl (that's me), and the two brothers, one of whom should be thirtyish, the other about twenty. But from that, a million different characters could pop up.
I'd like to try to post as often as possible, to let the story develop.
It would be cool if this could read almost like a novel. I was also thinking that it should be similar in tone to "Neverwhere", if you'd read it. So..if you're up to the challenge, lemme know.

I would like to play the younger brother. 24 year old Vindil. If thats okay let me know.

Hi I like the fantasy story.......up for playing a night or adventurer type. Maybe some one who finds a gate from our realm....comes through with flash lites, an SUV and 12-gauge....lol

I am open minded......I know you probably don't need another guy but I love the concept.

Why did they take you? What about the castle?

Some random info for folks who are both in the thread and reading the thread:

The word "Saorsian" is pronounced "SHEER-see-an".

The Castle is a huge military force of humanoid automatons, so named because of the formation they take when taking a city or fortress or whatever. Imagine the Orcs from the LOTR crossed with the foot soldiers from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and you'll be close.

Also, Afton Creeley is most certainly not a princess, in case you were wondering.

Awesome. PM if you have ?s or want to join or have an idea.

Can I join?

I too would love to join this thread... if there is still room. I'd like to play character I used to use in most medieval threads, Creeps. Creeps is a thief, a good thief, donning a black cloak. He's in his twenties, dark straight hair, and quite agile. Barely anyone sees his face, and is usually armed with a small crossbow, and two long knives. That's right, no steel armor, no big swords, those things just aren't his style. All I ask in return, IF you let me join, is if maybe some of you can join my "Cube: The Pink Rooms" thread, and maybe give me a brief summary of what has happened in your thread. I mean, I read through it all already, I just need something brief so I can catch up properly.

There'll be plenty of room for a char like Creeps. Possibly as some shifty go-between in the city. I think they may have a long way to go before they get there.

As far as what's happened so far: Not much. If this were a novel, we'd be on, like, the third page.

Oh yes please, this really looks like a story I´d love to be involved in. I´ll give a short description of my Idea for a character and if you like what you see please tell me if, when and where I can join in.

Selia Ni Aelwyn:

She´s a young elven maid, a sylvan or wood elf indeed, the more rural and less arrogant kind of the fey-folks.
She has been trained to have the skills of a scout or ranger, but this had been far away, in the woods she calls her home. Some day she had decided that the world is her´s to be explored and wandered away from home. Curiousity is her sole companion by now - there are sooo many new and exciting things to be found!
She´s friendly by nature and doesn´t like fighting (also she can defend herself and is a crack-shot with her bow), still clothed in the exquisite suade leather costume that´s typical to her kin (but doesnt hide very much of her delicate skin).
She looks slender and young (about nineteen according to human stanards) but with a very female figure that`s a bit unusual to the lithe and thin elves as the commoner knows them. Eyes and hair are of a vivid reddish chessnut- colouring but her most capturing asset is her ever friendly smile. Don´t mistake her, she isn´t that naive as you might guess by her appearance!

They'll need all the help they can get when they get to the city. Elves included. There's no elves in the city, so your character, as a wanderer, could just stumble upon everything and decide to help. There's going to be a lot of fighting.

Sweeet! I'll jump right in. Be sure to check out my "Cube: The Pink Rooms" thread if you can.

Hey guys. The thread is going along very well. It doesn't seem like we can add anymore characters right now, because the story needs time to develop.
But, if you want to join, all I ask is READ THE THREAD and try to work inside of it instead of just throwing your char in there.
Seriously. PM me or post here if you want to join.
