My friend Lis lives in Garfield with her son, hunter, and a good man named steve. Steve makes collector blades. The ones that you put on your wall or wear when you are in a costume. Not the ones you would fight with or used to harm someone else. Most of these knives are actually not practical for that use. He sells these items on-line. He does not intentionally sell out of his house. Yet, if he does have a prospective customer come to his door and ask to purchase a knife, Steve, like any sensible man would not turn away the prospective buyer, but he would politely ask them in. I do not know where he actually makes them but in the grand scheme of things it should not matter. It should not matter simply because, If i were knitting a blanket in my house which i sold on-line or even to someone at my front door, would that be considered a business or an illegal action? No. Since there are no laws when selling a blade (like there is with guns and drugs) it should be no different than my knitted blanket. At no point has he sold to a minor, not to mention i don't know any minors who could afford to purchase an $800 blade.
ANYWAY. Their neighbor lady is a huge asshole and a nosy little fuck wad... so she has tried to get them in trouble multiple times, if that's not bad enough... SHE TOLD THE NEWS...
Ahh yes american media.. the joke of the world...
Even worse, investigative reporting. Those people have NO media ethics.
Here is where her "story" is located.
If it weren't for her outright manipulation of the truth there would BE NO STORY.

SO.. here is where i need you people, oh literotica... How can i spread the word about this cunt's rotten stench? How can i get this out to everyone under the sun that she is a piece of investigative trash?

There's a response section for her and I really just want to write this:
"Regarding the "weapons for sale" story:
You are the cheep whore of journalism. You lack all media ethics. Most everything you have said in your article has been a manipulation and can be refuted. You slandered a good person's name.
You are a horrible journalist. Too bad you didn't do any background work to figure out that these types of weapons are not used in any sort of combat, even fake combat, and these weapons would never be sold to a minor. Thus negating all the sensationalist value of your story.
I wish you knew how dumb you really are."

But i know that combating it without lots and lots of facts and intelligent language won't work... yet i can't imagine her actually reading or caring about any of the responses that are factual and intelligent.. which is why i want to get a large audience involved...

I'm trying to get as many people as possible to give her... uhm... feedback... so if you could...
Give her a pice of your mind.

(and yes, i know my grammer and presentation sucks)

My favorite part...Almost Shakespearean.

Well, the first thing is to use a spell-checker and write a complaint to the editor of the local paper. Of course, it might or might not get picked.

Second, it seems the trouble stems from running an unlicensed business in an area that is zoned as residential only. That could be cleared up pretty quick if the guy would simply get a license (of course, then he would have to pay tax on his earnings).

If zoning is a problem, he can apply for an easement. Part of this process is a public hearing in which he can hear his neighbors grievances and produce proof that he is not selling weapons to kids to take to school, etc.

I love ren-fairs and especially the costumes. However, accidents do happen (that's why they are called accidents), so they should be extra careful about children being in the area.

It's not the story that gets you, it's the cover-up. Him telling one person that he operates from his home and then telling another he doesn't just isn't good policy and could get him in hot water legally.

Hugs,

Kat

I have an ouchies now.

The reporter does not know anything about weapons what this guy makes you do not find on the streets a person would have it in a case.

There was a neat guitar ax i guess they are not an item you find anywhere.

Do you have $10,000 dollars for a sword i don't.

The reporter was an idiot.

The 'depth' of the investigation seems to have been attacking some guy over where he lives and what he makes. Obviously he isn't making these 'weapons' in his apartment...metal requires much heat, grinding, and other less than 'friendly actions towards apartment living' than he could have gotten away with for so long.

If it's about weapons then most media will swill it up and serve it as 'anti-whatever fills their bill at the moment'. Hope it works out ok for him.

Just because your friend says they're not for combat doesn't mean that they can't be used for that. A person could easily get a pre-ban AK-47 for their wall and shoot somebody with it. This isn't worth going and misspelling "cheap" for.

Okay, the neighbors are overreacting, sure. As a big fan of pretty sharp things (I wish I had the money to collect them), I have no problem with him running his business. He does, however, need to make sure he's got all his legal business licenses straight, and be upfront with the authorities about it. Apparently he's wrong about his neighbors having no problems with it, so he really needs to cover his ass.
