Well, I'm just posting to say hello and introduce myself as the new guy of the site. I joined up several days ago, but have only been waiting for my first story to get approved (which it finally has) and now I am viewing more of the site.

I have to say, I love your writers resources, they are absolutely terrific. I am looking forward to getting to know some of you, and to sharing my works with the members of Lit, as well as reading yours as well (which I've not yet gotten around to starting, I intend too soon, been busy)

Well, I take my leave now. Be well everyone :)

Hi, tolyk. Welcome.

After 99 more posts you can get a nice little avatar, and everyone will know what you look like. Till then, build up the mystique.

Hola, tolyk. Welcome from me, that was a sweet intro. You might want to start with the Valentine contest stories, or those works nominated for readers choice awards, just a thought.

regards, Perdita

Welcome! Take off your coat, pull up a chair, and stay awhile! I love a person who starts with Romance as their first category. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my To Do list for the weekend.

Tolyk's Stories

(Stories instead of Story since I assume you mean to eventually have more than one. Easy for me to say. I have none. :) )

Hello and welcome, nice to meet you, glad you waited until your story was up and didn't ask 'THE' question.

As Min says pull up a chair and stay a while, but under no circumstances abreviate Svenskaflicka's name. Oh and avoid reference to sheep, or garderobes.

pops..........

Thank you all for such a warm welcome, it raises my impression of this site all the more, and I didn't think that was possible.

Joe, thank you. I was wondering exactly how one got the ability to use Avatars. That answered my question before I ever even asked it :)

Perditra, I was too late to enter the Valentines contest. I didn't really navigate the site much and only stumbled onto the contest after the close date had already passed by. I will definately be entering the next contest that comes up however, and am contemplating the Survivor contest, though thats a doozy.

Mindy, I will for sure have more than one story, all in good time of course. I also plan on submitting what is known as Sufi Poetry if you have ever heard of that. As for my first entry, I was completely baffled as to what category it should fall under, and to me, Romance was the closest one, and my good friend Vic agreed with me, so thats what it went to :)

Hey Pops, thanks for the warning about the long name that I cannot abreviate which I dont' feel like typing out, but by avoiding typing it out I encured much more typing in actuality. By the way, I happen to like Sheep, they are so cute ;) But I have to say, I'm quite baffled as to what " 'THE' question" possibly is?

Thanks again all :)

Hello, yourself, Tolyk and welcome to Lit. There are a few things to remember; first, don't abbvreviate Svenskaflicka's name, especially not to te first syllable. Do not address Perdita as Perdy. 99 more posts and you can have your own avatar, normally shortened to AV. Use almost anything you want, that isn't already in use.

As Perdita said, if you want to read some high class smut, start with the Valentine's Day contest entries and go from there. It is too late for you to enter the contest but there will be others. I will read your first post this weekend.:)

tolyk,

Just another, greetings and salutations. We can always use some new blood around here, so to speak.

Pop and Boxlicker covered the important warnings--believe 'em. As for our Valkyre's name, the important thing is to avoid four-letter short forms. I'll just add that Killer Muffin is always right, so is Weird Harold. Otherwise, just remember this joint's kinda like Lake Woebegone, except all the women are smart and good-looking, most of the men are neither, and all the writer's are above average, but of what, no one's sure.

And remember, don't ask "THE" question.

Awww, but Perdy is a good nickname ;) And the other one I've now had three warnings on, so I'll be sure to heed that one. I'm almost afraid to meet this person *grin*

Rumple Foreskin, great to meat you ;) I have to say, I was very shocked to see your name when I was going through the writers resources and was looking forward to encountering you, since my true last name is in fact Rumpel. I found it quite humourous in fact. Oh, and as to new blood, there is so many ways to twist that statement, that I'm just not going to bother. :D

I think that even if Killer Muffin wasn't correct, I'd let her be anyways. *grin*

No!!!!!!!!!!

No never do that with Muffie, once she gets on top of you, you've had it:D

With a last name like "Rumpel" you should be a stout British barrister working in "the old Bailey."

*chuckle* No, far from it. My lineage is in fact half German and half French, but I am 100% Canadian and a student working nowhere currently :) YEAH! Partying it up!! WOO WOO ;)

Well you've picked a good place to do it tolyk. Parties abound on Lit. Unfortunately some of them are political parties and so dull they make you want to go read some smut, which is handy.

Come in and sit a spell.

Welcome to the zoo.

I was about to be offended, but having just taken a break from the political parties to read your smut I find it would be mighty hypocritical of me.

Ignore the naysayers, Gauche. I loved your V-day entry. I got lost a few times, I admit, but the amazing imagery in your writing makes it so very worthwhile. (and the getting lost really reflects more upon me as a reader than it does you as a writer. )

Thus spake she to whom "THE" question must not be asked. For some the passage of time is an inconsequential concept in the great scheme of things. Those are hints tolyk-take 'em.

Svenska's a softie, just don't get on her bad side.

And yes, Perdy is a good nickname. :)

Hi Damppanties, I like your nickname probably as much as you like mine, if not more ;) I've been using my nick name since I made it up, almost 12 years ago. Makes me feel ancient, but it is just that I was young ;) Honestly, I was the first Tolyk online, now there is tons :(

Oh no, you abreviated the name that shalt not be abreviated!!!! *GASP* *peers at Damppanties* Well, your head still seems to be attatched.... Very well then.. doesnt' seem all THAT dangerous yet :)

Glad you agree about Perdy ;)
Take care, thanks for the welcome :)

Welcome to Lit!

The Author's Hangout is a terrific place, by the way. You'll find stellar wit and interesting discussions on varying topics.

And sometimes we even talk about stories!

:D

ROFL! Well, you *can* abbreviate it, just not to.. er... umm.. the first four letters of it. You can make it SF or Svenska or Flicka or Lit. Goddess or HP lover... ;)

Right.. I'll just stick with my current on running joke of calling her the one who must remain unnamed/not abbreviated.

Thank you muchly Sarahh, and I will be very glad to read about stories, but the wit and humour is worth it as well :)

Welcome to lit fellow author. And just so it is spelled out for you here: Never call Svenskaflicka Sven, as she isn't a man, and never ask "How long does it take for a story to be posted after submitting it?" because Mathgirl will pull out your tongue, and shove it up your arse. (You don't even want to know what Svenskaflicka will do if you refer to her as Sven.) As for calling Perdita Purdy, Perdy, or Pretty, I'd chose the later if I was you. She is all of that and more. You'll find that the woman here harass the men, but in a good natured manner so be warned, don't get on their bad side. I don't mean to say that you need to turn into a pussy, just don't let your testosterone write a check that your ass can't cash. Other than that, all's fair as long as you respect everybody here. And KillerMuffin isn't always right, but when you think she's wrong then you missunderstood her sarcastic, subtle, rapier wit, or you just stepped on her sore Ironic toe. The toe that suffers fools lightly.

As Always

Awww, you ruined my game of keeping the name that shall not be abbreviated from being abbreviated :) C'est la vie, I shall survive and find a new game.

Thank you for finally answering what 'THE' question was, the rest of the information was just common sense, but thanks nonetheless. As for the question anyways, I would never of asked that, I have been an admin in places, and know what it is like. I know how sometimes it can be slow, and sometimes it can be instantanious, so it isn't as if there is a set time on such a thing anyways.

Thank you Dirt Man.
