From a blurb in the Friday Detroit Free Press that might appeal to Lit Lovers in the Southeast Michigan area:

The 17th Annual Erotic Poetry and Music Festival is set for February 14 at Alvin's in Detroit. There will be a combination of erotic art, kinky poetry and hot music.

The event will be hosted by a dominant duo, the Impaler and Mistress Donna. Music acts include glam rockers City Call Girls, eclectic cabaret act Terror At The Opera with Sweetheart, flirtatious rockers Choking Susan and Roshambo, and the accoustic act Fig.

Featured poets include Jimmy Doom, Cindi St. Germain, Blair, Soulspeak,, Vic Toledo, Tuka, Rod Reinhart, and more.

Artists with works on display include Jeff Hocking and Faith Gazic, with additional display of erotic wares from Karma and Suzy & Sandy's Relationship Enhancements.

Doors will open at 8 PM and admission is $8 with proceeds going to benefit Paws With a Cause. Alvins is located at 5756 Cass, Detroit. Call 313-831-4577.

Bump!

Just bringing this back to the front for those who might be interested ...

Miltone ...

Looks very inviting - for the evening and possibly for connecting with others in the area who enjoy immersing / taking plunges into the erotic ... but not sure if my wife and I will be able to make it.

If we go, I'll look you up, if not, I'll contact you.

Thanks,

Sky'

Epilogue ...

My wife and I attended an erotic poetry/art/music benefit, at this small shadowy venue in Detroit, in honor of Valentine's Day. Skirts hiked, hands wringing ... the air heavy with cigarettes and stale beer, and wonton gazes. How romantic, huh?

Turned out a few of the scheduled poets were no-shows. Left the MC grappling to fill a few minutes. I took the plunge, offering one of my short poems, stepping up to the mic', nervous, thankful the glare of the spotlight blinded my view of faces in the mulling audience.

Aye sweet Shoshana, aye you are potent.
I'll drink you up as you're willin'
And if you've gone in the mornin'
I'll lick me chops
And scratch me loins
And know 'twas real.

My offering was graciously received, especially by my wife, of course, who knew nothing of this poem. I saw the beam of her smile as I walked back to join her, then noticing the surprise in her eyes, fearing it could have a little something to do with the fact her name is not Shoshana.

But loath me not any gentle reader, I would not taint my loving and still passionate relationship with my wife; the name, I assured her, was of a dear faceless friend on Lit. who inspired the poem.

I am quite honored, Sky.

Hopefully, Lady Aradia understood and you got the proper reward for your bravery. ;)

Hope your day was good, hun.

In gratitude

Shoshana ...

You are welcome.

Lady Aradia seemed understanding at the time. When we returned home she got her lighthearted 'revenge,' to my delight. ;)

It has been my delight to share sultry "frolics" with you on Lit. I've learned more about flirting from you, been inspired by your mysterious spirited nature, and now lavished upon in the bedroom because of your name.

Shoshana, the karma of the universe must truly be ready to smile upon you - in all aspects, including intimacy.

Honored by our friendship,

*hug*

*BLUSHES PROFUSELY*

I hope you are right about the karma of the universe as it has been frowning intensely for the past month or so...

I am glad you had fun, hun.

Lady Aradia is a lucky woman. I am sure that she appreciates everything that you are and will become.

*hugs for you both*
