Austin Mini-Meet Feb 7th

Ok, boys and girls. It's that time again.

No clue where, but I've got the when. I'm not doing a big production, just a little thang to meet some of our newer Austinites, although Miss Red_Rose has promised to come in from Dallas to attend (<--note for her fan club).

It's a safe bet that it'll be at 2pm on Saturday, 7th of February...the where to be determined by me, not by committee, though I'll take suggestions via PM (but don't be offended if I say no) and only after I have my grubby little hands on the who and how many.

If you're not a resident of Austin or the surrounding area, you won't be getting an invite. You are MORE than welcome to come, but you'll have to PM me or post here to let me know that you are interested.

If you have local friends on other boards here on Lit, please link 'em to this thread. I won't be posting it on other boards cuz I don't know those people and they don't know me. To circumvent Someplace coming in and saying that I'm a board snob, please note: they are welcome. They just have to come in here and post that they are interested or send me a PM.

For the newbs: As soon as I can find the link, I'll be posting my favorite thesis, "Why Lit-meets are not orgies" so you'll know what to expect.




All this being said, please note that there will be an All-Texas meet being held in April (most likely) in Gruene hosted by Miss Sarapet and myself. If any of you guys are saving your pennies, wait and travel then, not to this.

If our Texas weather decides to go ballistic that weekend, i'll either cancel or postpone this, but hey...who the hell can predict what Central Texas is going to do in February, weather-wise?

Lit togethers are meetings in public places that are fun for the whole family (although nobody's ever brought their kids, that I can recall...spouses/sig others/chick or guy you picked up outside/umm..friends are always welcome). We do not publicize the location of the meets on the board. If you want to go, you have to PM the appropriate Den Mother (see below) who'll let you know the time and the place. We do this to keep lurkers who may or may not be scary people from stalking/harrassing/etc the folk who want to come.

We meet in restaurants, have lunch, giggle, gossip, and many of us drink (although not all and it's not a requirement). These have a tendency to last into the evening hours, often a large group will split up and do other stuff. At the last Austin meet, a group of us stayed at the poor restaurant 'til midnight watching Nike and Red_Rose karaoke. Unfortunately, none of us had a video camera!

We usually meet in the mid-afternoon to accomodate those who travel for these get togethers. The core of the group has been doing this periodically for about a year or so. We always welcome newbs, given sufficient notice (it's hard to trust someone with 0 posts who pm's you for info the night before the meet, ya know? But each of the "den mothers" has her own way of handling that situation). Meets range in size from just a few of us getting together for lunch to full scale meets of 20+ people. I've never heard of anyone having a bad time at one.

If you want to give a Texas den mother heart palpatations, just say to her, "So when's the orgy?" Grrr! They're obviously not orgies. Public nudity and obscene behavior tend to be frowned upon in Texas. Unless you're in government, of course. This isn't to say that the topics of convo are appropriate for Sunday School, but we do try to comport ourselves in a manner appropriate for public consumption. Unless Someplace gets drunk, then all bets are off. *runs and hides...she's gonna KILL me for that!!!*

The group ranges in age from early 20's up. I don't think we have any septegenarians, but give us time (or give BubbaJ time to ripen*ducks*). We're business people, homemakers, military, students, lackies, tech geeks, and a lawyer or two (to kick around, of course). There are couples, singles and married folk; straight, gay and uh...other (in a totally heterosexual way, of course!). The gender split at the ones I've attended have been about evenly split, although with a slight skew to more females than males. One memorable mini-meet was 6 girls, 2 guys. (I think the guys liked it 'til we started talking about yeast infections... JUST KIDDING!!!)

It's a pretty nice blend of people, and we've found that it's a simple way to meet people whom you may not have met otherwise. We also find we have way more in common with other than just posting on a porn board.

Nora if anybody understands organizing get togethers and what not I can assume that you might have felt that some day this thing could grow into a massive get together. Right now your???/tonie has about 65 people attempting to attend. Several NY vicinity people are in the works of going. It would be fun to see if some Tx people can make it.

Besides Nora if you don't make it that would give me more of a lead of people met from lit. Ya can't have that happen.

And I also noted how you adroitly slipped in that reference to my overimbibing at a long long ago lit-together. I'm never gonna live that down, am I?

For the record, at the last lit-together we attended, I was the ONLY female who did NOT publically display body parts not normally intended for public viewing. Isn't that RIGHT? *nods*

days I will make a Tx get together. With that said I was wondering if any Texans are planning on attending the NC, Charolette get together the weekend of May 14 to 16.

Nora I know you understand the organizations of these things and I assume like me you probably felt that some day a get together might be on a grander scale. I think this one could be the start of something annually besides the ones we have held in our neck of the woods or places traveled.

I hope you attend as I know several NYers and vicinity people are going to. Now you don't want to ruin your chances of catching up with the number of people I have met do ya?

OK have fun and keep me inform on the April get together. Have a drink for me on the next get together.

i don't think this particular one's going to be all that huge (although already bigger than I thought!), but hopefully we'll get a good turn out for the one in April in Gruene.

Yo. In prison, we'd hold a swap meet every third Saturday in the gymnasium. I once got three bundles of smokes for a Last Supper paint by numbers that I'd done. It was a good thing too because I found some hubcaps for my Yugo that day and used my earnings to purchase them. Things have a way of working out like that.

I guess I missed that one, because I have never shown my private parts at a Lit-Together. Rubbing fully clothed boobies with Nora and SaraPet does not count, by the way.
