RIP Robert Palmer

Aw..... now HIM I liked! Most of the stars who have been dying lately didn't matter much to me one way or the other. But I liked Palmer's music.

All the money and fame in the world can't save you if it is your time to go though.

:rose:

Wow .... what a beautiful , sensual man ...

he was a sexy souful singer ... I LOVED His music ... listening to this is one, of my favorites!

You overwhelm me,
When you move your body next to mine
Won’t you tell me
How you always know what’s on my mind

It’s a fever you know how to soothe
And a calm contentment
Only you can get to

You overwhelm me
Oh babe I think you look so fine

I may be turned around
You’ll show me the way
I may be tired of trying
You’ll show me the light of day
My imagination is fired
I had only dreamt love could be so inspired

You overwhelm me
When you move your body next to mine
It’s a fever you know how to soothe
And a calm contentment
Only you can get to

You overwhelm me, baby
You fill my soul with desire
Only fools aren’t afraid to be burned by fire
You overwhelm me,
When you move your body next to mine
Won’t you tell me
Oh babe I think you look so fine

You overwhelm me yeah
Wont you tell me
How you always know what’s on my mind

Every Kind Of People

Said the fight to make ends meet
Keeps a man upon his feet
Holding down his job
Trying to show he can’t be bought

Ooh it takes every kinda people
To make what life’s about, yeah
Every kinda people
To make the world go ’round

Someone’s looking for a lead
In his duty to a king or to a creed
Protecting what he feels is right
Fights against wrong with his life

There’s no profit in deceit
Honest men know that
Revenge does not taste sweet
Whether yellow, black or white
Each and every man’s the same inside

It takes every kinda people
To make what life’s about, yeah
It takes every kinda people
To make the world go ’round
Doo doo doo......

You know that love’s the only goal
That could bring a peace to any soul
Hey and every man’s the same
He wants the sunshine in his name

It takes every kinda people
To make what life’s about, yeah
It takes every kinda people
To make the world go ’round
Mmmm, every kinda people
To make what life’s about

   :rose: I'll miss him.....

STILL IN YOUR HEART
Power Station

The night you met, it was a magic start
All the connections were made in your heart
Following you everywhere, you could feel her eyes
A glimpse of somebody took you by surprise
Another place and day, now where's she gone?
You can't forget her face, or things you left undone
Re-run memories from the start
The time has flown
All the time you've been apart
And she's still in your heart
Try as you might the recollections stay
Like a photographic memory of each day
You can feel her by your side in an empty room
And words like 'forever' you spoke too soon
Another place and day, now where's she gone
You can't forget her face, or things you wish you'd done
Re-run memories from the start
The time has flown
Where's the ending and the start?
She's still in your heart

Rock singer Robert Palmer has died in Paris of a heart attack at the age of 54.
This is sad. His music gave so much pleasure to so many people.

There seem to have been a lot of celebrity deaths lately.

Slim Dusty was buried today, here in Australia. He was given a full state funeral.

Indeed this was a man who touched my heart with his music and voice. I remember him when he was with ELP (Emerson, Lake and Palmer) saw them back in SF. I followed his work and it only got better. I will miss him, but he's left us all beautiful work to remember him by. RIP RP

54

How many 54 year olds die everyday?

Just because he's famous it's a big deal??

Come on...

and the older you get - the more famous people you know and love start to croak.

well, if you need some explanations young man here they are.

54 is very very young to die, you have to be close to that age or getting there to understand the concept.

Yes, we mourn him because he was famous, why? because he was bringing us something that is important to some: his music.

So you see we are doubly shock by his death, because he was too young to die and was a great singer, he was contributing to society.

dont diminish a death because it is someone famous or someone older than you.

sometimes

Yet another victim of the perfidity of the foul and most foreign French.

pleasure was too much for him, he was on a 2 days break from making a new album.

Musicians generally live longer than average. The lifestyle and work is regarded as low in stress and high in personal well being.

It's truly a shame.

*sigh*

Wooah

A hot summer night, fell like a net
I've gotta find my baby yet
I need you to soothe my head
Turn my blue heart to red

Chorus:

Doctor, doctor give me the news
I've got a bad case of lovin' you
No pill's gonna cure my ill
I've got a bad case of lovin' you

A pretty face don't make no pretty heart
I learned that buddy, from the start
You think I'm cute, a little bit shy
Momma, I ain't that kind of guy

(Chorus)

Wooah

I know you like it, you like it on top
Tell me momma are you gonna stop

You had me down, 21 to zip
Smile of Judas on your lip
Shake my fist, knock on wood
I've got it bad and I've got it good

(Chorus)
