Johnny Cash died this morning from "complications" with his hospitalization. Not all of the details have been relieced yet.. Once I find out more, I'll post them here...

Too late. Already started a thread. John Ritter and Terome "T-Bone" Hannon also died...

I was just going to say/post that very sentiment.

I hated country music most all of my life. Since 9-11 I've gained a new appreciation for it and the patriotism it wears on it's sleeve, so-to-speak. Of course, I won't listen to any Dixie Chicks. I transfered my hate of the genre to just one act. Kinda like STYX...

For Johnny's Family

Sung best by the Man himself

Amazing Grace

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

When we've been here a thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

RIP Johnny...my grandfather has to be one of your biggest fans, country music has lost a legend.

Where was I? John Ritter died? RIP Jack Tripper...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Johnny Cash, "The Man in Black" who became a towering figure in American music with such hits as "Folsom Prison Blues," "I Walk the Line," and "A Boy Named Sue," died Friday. He was 71.

"Johnny died due to complications from diabetes, which resulted in respiratory failure," Cash's manager, Lou Robin, said in a statement issued by Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

He said Cash died at the hospital at 1 a.m. EDT.

"I hope that friends and fans of Johnny will pray for the Cash family to find comfort during this very difficult time," Robin said.

May you have eternal life Mr. Cash :rose: :rose:

Peace in the Valley

Oh well, I'm tired and so weary
But I must go alone
Till the lord comes and calls, calls me away, oh yes
Well the morning's so bright
And the lamp is alight
And the night, night is as black as the sea, oh yes
There will be peace in the valley for me, some day
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow
No trouble, trouble I see
There will be peace in the valley for me, for me
Well the bear will be gentle
And the wolves will be tame
And the lion shall lay down by the lamb, oh yes
And the beasts from the wild
Shall be lit by a child
And I'll be changed, changed from this creature that I am, oh
yes
There will be peace in the valley for me, some day
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow
No trouble, trouble I see
There will be peace in the valley for me, for me

I'll Go Somewhere and Sing My Songs Again | Johnny Cash

Way out on the mountain near the sky hidin' from the cold realities of life
(Shaking that old road dust off my heels
I give my heart and mind a chance to heal)
Then I'll go somewhere and sing my songs again
More than likely ride back to the places I've been
(In fairness to my music and my friends) I'll go somewhere and sing my songs again

(A racoon stole my minnoes in the night I appreciate his need and his appetite)
But like me he doesn't have to roam and it's true that man can't live on bread alone
Then I'll go somewhere...

Oh it feels so good to have a simple wish where life and death is me and some old fish
(Poor king sits with a cold beer in his hand
And surveys a clear blue kingdom on the sand)
Then I'll go somewhere...
I'll go somewhere and sing my songs again

These Things Shall Pass | Johnny Cash

These things shall pass and some great morning
We'll look back and smile at heartaches we have known
So don't forget when shadows gather
The Lord our God is still the King upon his throne
A rose looks grey at midnight but the flame is just asleep
And steel is strong because it knew the hammer and white heat
These things shall pass and life be sweeter
When love and faith are strong they cannot long endure

These things shall pass so don't you worry
The darkest time is just one hour before dawn
So hold up high and face your troubles
And don't dispare if you must face them all alone
A rose looks grey at midnight...
(These things shall pass)

I met him once. (Saw him in concert at least 4 times) What a powerful presence he had. He'll be missed!

RIP Mr. Cash.
