He surfed porn.. and when he got stuck in pop up hell something changed my "home" page from MSN to a porn search engine. Ofcourse I wasn't home when this all happened.. I happened to find it when I got home today. He was nice enough to email me from work and tell me what happened.

I went to Tools>Internet Options> General tab.. and guess what. I can't manually change the home page. If I go to MSN.com and click on the link that says "make this your home page" I get an error message.

So, How is this corrected?

I've ran an updated spyware and virus scan. Everything is clean.

clean out cookies, temp internet history instead of having IE open, go into Internet options from the control panel and make your changes there.

You could have a small executable in your start up that is responsible for the IE change.

Run MSCONFIG and C&P the entries here.

I also just noticed that it added some porn links to my favorites folder.

If I try to delete them.. they just come back.

Help :) Please. I beg someone to help me fix this.

start>settings>control panel>internet options> type in the address you want the home page to be and tell it to use current

then tell Mr Freaky to say NO

Give him a 38 calibre revolver and tell him that suicide is a valid option

FG, go into your favorites folder with your browser closed.

If you're running xp the path should be like this but with the logged on user's name.
C:\Documents and Settings\pornoholic\Favorites

nope.. nothing running that isn't supposed to be.

MSCONFIG has nothing new running.

Went to Control panel>Internet Options and I still can't change it.

Didn't work, already tried that.

LOL.. I don't care if he surfs porn. I just wish he'd stick to my favorites file. The ones I know are safe links.

LordLucan-Come back after you've taken your meds.

Must be a NASA employee!!! What a stud!!! Hope he wasn't on the last Columbia team.....Still scrapping those buggers off the topsoil LOL Thanks HEAVY

sounds like you got hit with the Js_exception.gen ********** Trojan Horse.

From PC World:
First, use Internet Explorer's Internet Options dialog box to reset your home and search pages back to what they were before.

Next, select Start, choose Run, type msconfig, and press Enter. Click the Startup tab. In the resulting list, look for a command with either the word 'regedit' or '.reg' in it (such as 'C:\Windows\regedit.exe/s C\Windows\System\radB9819.tmp'). When you find it, uncheck it, then click OK.

That's probably all you need to do, but to be safe, it wouldn't hurt to delete the file mentioned in that line. Don't delete regedit.exe--you need that--but delete the other file referenced there. And it wouldn't hurt to edit the Registry, searching for and removing all references to the offending site.

why not call him mr freaky.

Calling someone Mr freaky doesnt have anything to do with being married to them, unless her Last name is Freaky, she is actually the guy, he is the chic , they get married and she takes his name.

You are obviously on CRACK!!!!

It didn't change any of my settings FG.

It had to be the page afterwards.
