Are they?

Do you care if someone has less than a thousand posts?

Or do you not take any notice unless they are a lit guru or have their own title?

I thought I'd do something different for my 2k posting other than 'Woo Hoo, I made 2K'

I went with the 'there's a post count?' option. I quit paying attention to things like that some time ago.

post counts are very important to me...as a newbie they make me feel inferior and weak...I dont know what I would do without them

Post counts dont' matter.

Nice boob meat av's do.

:D

Seriously, some have 16k posts and have said almost nothing. What is the point to using the post count to determine anything except for maybe lit time and lit energy?

There are newbies here with less than 15 posts who are really cool and I feel I know them better than some of our 20 k posters.

So....go figure!

I went with "whats said is more important than how many times they've posted". And I do notice post counts when its a name I don't recognize, but it ends there.

Well, at least I finally know how to get MissTaken's attention.

Ya but,

Do I have yours?

:D

Sometimes, I will search a user's posts to get a feel for them. So, yes, I voted with intrigued...what is said is far more important.

I love the 'from what I've seen of Lit' posts when the post count is in single figures.

Seriously, I think the post count serves only as MissT has said and that sometimes the speed with which they have acquired their posts occasionally gives you a clue to their depth.

Ohhhhhh baby...I am nearing double figures on my post count...(nipples are hardening with excitment)

Some people register along time before they post. I was dropping in for a few months before I posted.

Now I like that. I've been Registered since Nov 2001, and only have 2k posts. Bluespoke, you've been registered since Aug. 2001 and have nearly three times as many as me. What was that about speed and depth again? :D

I don't pay attention to post counts. If they can sound reasonably intelligent, spell correctly and flirt with me outrageously ....then I adore them. Whether they have one post or thousands.

I'm shallow that way.;)

And if they make you *coffeespew*? :)

I firmly believe my 15 posts are as deep and meaningfull as anything you might find written on the stall at the restrooms in any park in america....thats a gauruntee

Mad Jack

JL has 12,000 plus since September 2001.

So what it means is that I am a slow poster and you make a snail look impressive!:D

And she always says something meaningful.

If not meaningful, she is making someone wet or hard.

Priceless~!

:D

I hope someday to fall into an elite class of posters...my parents would be so proud

I'll just ditto that.

Post count is a useful but sometimes misleading token of experience here at Lit......it may determine a persons knowledge of his/her fellow posters, their personalities etc.

I can base my opinion of someone on what they "say", in that context, someone with 2 posts talking about a person here is unlikely to be given much credence.........

But at the same time, if that person is talking about a subject, ie war/love/dogs/anything not related to a specific poster, then their opinion is treated exactly the same way as a 20k poster....ie taken on it's value (to me)

I think post counts are good, I don't feel they should be blocked or hidden etc.......they are a very rough equivalent of age, age being applied in terms of time posting at Lit, and therefore a quasi token of experience

My mom is!

Well, might be!

Well, she thinks this is a site for writers and is proud of my interest in writing... or something silly like that.

:D

I really dont have anything meaningful to add here...i just want to up my post count, thank you

I remember being new. My life was different then and I was, and continue to be, more of a hit and run poster. I do go back and read any thread in which I have posted to see the denouncment. Post totals matter in how much I have seen someone, but there are people here that I have never seen with 15,000 posts.

I find that once I have bantered with someone, that is what matters most in finding them real. I like the people who seem real to me. Once you are real, then your post count doesn't matter.

So in a round about way:) I am saying that totals count but my interaction with them counts more!
