Name: Rachel Brewer
Age: 25
Ethnicity: Japanese
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 126 lbs.
Measurements: 34D-25-36
Appearance:
http://sexywomen.gvortex.net/wp-content/gallery/miwa_oshiro/normal_miwa_oshiro_2.jpg

Personality: Innocent and a bit shy, Rachel is nonetheless a very easy person to get along with, carrying a polite smile on her face.

Biography: Born Rika Ozawa in Hokkaido, Japan, she was was adopted into an American family and her name was officially changed to Rachel. Rachel has spent nearly all her life in the States, growing up in Long Island, New York. Her father, Mark Brewer, works as a columnist for a local newspaper while her mother Lisa helps out at an animal hospital. She had a 'normal' high school experience (dates, parties, dances, boyfriends, etc) and would eventually go on to study at Siena College where she would graduate with honors. The exposure to the world outside her adopted home instilled a desire to travel abroad, though Rachel decided it would be best to see all, if not most, of the United States.

---

Rachel walked down the ever busy sidewalks of New York City, the tall buildings practically blocking the sun and showing only the clear blue sky overhead. She had a pair of headphones in her ears, her favorite band playing as she kept in step with their music. A somewhat worn backpack was strapped loosely on her shoulder, the contents of which varied from gum, some loose change, make-up, clothes, etc. For the time being Rachel decided it was nice of a day outside to simply wear a pair of faded blue jeans and a white t-shirt.

Smiling at a uniformed guard posted outside of Grand Central Station, she reached out and took hold of the door handle and opened it up, walking inside. It was here that she would literally pick out a destination and go. She had no travel plans, no set places she planned to visit. Rachel would let her intuition guide her actions. The Station, however, was rather large and not knowing where to go, Rachel stood there scratching her head.

"Now what?" she asked herself.

Weight: 136 lbs.
Measurements: 36D - 29 - 35
Appearance: Normal build, shoulder-length wavy reddish-blonde hair that she often wears in a loose bun (see attachment), freckles, green eyes

Biography: Catherine was born and raised in New York City, being a real big city girl. Her father is a doctor and her mother works at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, being a great violinist herself. Her families good situation made it easy for her to excel at school and pursue her dream of graduating in medicine. Now at the age of 24 she has not finished her exams yet but looks forward to working at a hospital just like her father.

"I is beyond my understanding that a train company would employ people like you who are incapable of making an exception to the rule just because the computer doesn't allow it!" Cat almost shouted. The elderly ticket clerk behind the counter did not seem to be too impressed though. He calmly responded "As I said rebookings of double tickets have to be made at least 48 hours in advance of the journey in question. I'm sorry I can not help you." "Very well, I'll be off then" Catherine snapped, giving the counter a kick that hurt her more than it had an effect. She stormed off, mad at the train company, the ticket clerk and herself for not controlling her temper. Perhaps she would have gotten the refund if she had acted a little bit more charming... She could have put that money to a better use for sure.

As she passed a men in a business suit and dodged a group of Japanese tourists with photo cameras she bumped into someone.

"Can't you pay attention!?" she raised her voice but stopped when she looked at the excusing smile on the girl's face. She was Japanese and a real beauty. "I'm sorry" Cat murmered regretting her rudeness immediately. "I'm a little agigated. That ticket clerk... well I don't wanna bother you. Sorry! I'm Catherine"

She extended her hand.

Running a hand through her dark hair, Rachel was looking at the schedule of trains and was deciding where she would go first when all of a sudden she felt her body move sharply when someone had bumped into her. She was able to keep on her feet, however, and turning her head she looked to whomever had ran into her.

"Can't you pay attention!?"
a loud voice yelled out at her, causing her to flinch slightly. A woman, who looked like she was the same age as Rachel was with reddish/blond hair and freckles, was standing in front of her with a surprised look.

"Sorry." Rachel apologized, repositioning her backpack with her hand as it became loose in the small confrontation. She had hoped to avoid causing any commotion and this was certainly not the best way to go about achieving that.

"I'm sorry. I'm a little agigated. That ticket clerk... well I don't wanna bother you. Sorry! I'm Catherine"

"No it's ok. I guess I should watch where I'm standing. This place is really too busy to just wander around aimlessly." Rachel admitted, a little embarrassed.

"Oh, I'm Rachel." she said, taking Catherine's hand and politely shaking it once she realized that it had been offered.

"Sorry Rachel. That was really my fault. I can be quite harsh when I gat in a temper, you know..." Catherine shrugged.

"Care for a coffee?" she asked motioning to a near Starbucks shop. "My treat of course. Maybe I can make up for that awful first impression. If you're not in a hurry, that is. I can be quite a nice girl you know. It's not my habit to bowl down people and blame them for it afterwards."

"No it's ok. Like I said if I was paying attention then we might have avoided that little scuffle." Rachel said, trying to accept a little bit of the blame. But it was in the past, so there was little either of them could do about it. Besides, Catherine seemed to be a nice girl and Rachel was without a friend at the moment.

Turning her head, she looked at the Starbucks, her dark eyes landing on the famous logo and the amount of people that were casually walking in and out of its small dining area. Turning to face forward she nodded her head.

"Sure." she said with a smile. "Though I don't mind chipping in. You pay more for the cup than you do the actual coffee." she said, mentally sighing because Starbucks is notorious for charging a lot of money for the smallest amount of liquid. It's just that they're so damn convenient! With one hand she held onto her backpack strap and the other was resting comfortably in her jeans pockets as they walked over. Naturally it would take Rachel at least a couple of minutes before she knew what she wanted.

"Iced Caramel Macchiato. Definitely." she said with a smile once she had decided upon what to order. It was a hot day out so the cold drink would help at least.

Catherine had put the time Rachel needed to decide on her drink to good use. Pretending to look around the small shop for a free table but secretly sizing up her new acquaintance she had come to the conclusion that Rachel was a really beautiful girl. She had a slim, well-proportioned frame which her clothes showed off perfectly. Her shoulder-free top put her wonderful soft-looking skin on display and Cat couldn't help but notice Rachel's ample-sized breasts. But what really hit the jackpot was her cute face with the dark hair, the almond eyes and her gorgeous smile. Catherine wasn't normally into women but that didn't keep her from enjoying the looks of a beautiful girl and she was very pleased with what she saw.

"Make it two then." she demanded after Rachel had placed her order and motioned over to a small table at the window. "Let's sit down over there." They both grabbed their drinks and settled down, shoving the backpacks under the table.

"I think it's only fair if I tell you why I was so upset." she began. "Me and my friend were going to do some hiking at the Great Lakes this summer. We have been planning this since January and had booked a double compartment in the sleeper on the train to Chicago. Everything was set up and then my friend's aunt died yesterday. Of course she has to stay here for the funeral and we decided that I would go there alone and she would follow me next week."

Cat sighed and took a sip of her coffee.

"Anyway I tried to change the double ticket for a single one to get the refund but this guy there really had a bad day or something. 'Advance bookings have to be cancelled 48 hours prior to your journey'" Cat tried to impersonate the ticket clerk, rolling her eyes.

"And now it looks like I'm gonna have lots of space on the train for a hilarious amount of money. It's quite a lot for a student, you know..."

"But I guess you have better things to do than to listen to my rants. Where are you going?"

Rachel had decided on her order, and it seemed that Cat had been thinking on the same thing when she ordered two Iced coffees. Turning her head to look at the seat by the window, she nodded her head and smiled.

"K sounds good." she said, but remained near the counter till their drinks were ready. Grabbing a few napkins she wrapped them around the outside of her drink and picked up an extra straw. Walking over to their seats she tossed her backpack on the floor near her feet and kicked them under her legs.

"Really? I'm surprised they wouldn't refund you given the circumstances." Rachel said after taking a few sips. She had to wipe of some whipped cream that covered her straw, otherwise it'd have gotten all over her face, probably making for a pretty funny moment.

"But yeah, that does seem like a lot of space to have for yourself." she added, nodding her head and then shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't know. I don't have any set plans or anything, I figured I'd go wherever I felt like going. Kind of like I'm on an extended vacation, but without a travel guide."
she said with a giggle. Chicago sounded like a nice destination to hit up, if not at first then somewhere down the line.

Cat thought a moment about this. Normally she was an intuitive person who trusted her first thoughts. This chance meeting could solve her problem as well as provide her with some company. Of course she knew Rachel just for 20 minutes now but she sure enough seemed a nice person. And what harm could there be in trying.

"Well... I know this comes a bit sudden but maybe you could accompany me? I got a compartment for two, you wanna go on vacation and we both could use some company on the train." she proposed. "And I promise not to lecture you about the states like a travel guide." she added with a wink.

"Are you in for it?"

Rachel smiled after she took another sip from her iced coffee.

"Really? You wouldn't mind?"
she asked. She had no real plans or anything, but the offer was pretty surprising considering they had just met not more than 10-20 minutes ago.

"Well I mean, yeah I guess so. I mean as long as you don't mind my going along, that'd be nice." she said with a pleasant smile, but she also had a look as if she was asking if it was really ok.

"I just don't want to be a burden or anything, cause I'm out here on my own so you know, sometimes I feel like I'm in the way of things and I just wanted to get out and stuff, but yeah. You sure you don't mind?"
she asked again. Rachel was the kind of girl that wanted to know that people were 100% committed to things and while she was starting to come out of her shell she was still a bit timid, feeling as if she was always a burden to others around her.

"No you won't be a burden, I'm sure. It's no big deal really. Look, the train will arrive by tomorrow morning. So if it doesn't work out it'll be quickly over." she smiled. "But if it does work out we both may have a good time. And you'll never know if you don't try it. My friend and me have booked a cabin at a really great place near Chicago - that's worth a look!"

Cat could really understand Rachel's hesitation. After all being asked to go on a train ride with an unknown stranger had everything in it for a Hitchcock movie. On the other hand she didn't think that she looked like a maniac mass murderer. And a little voice inside her head told her that she and Rachel would have a good time.

Glancing at her watch she started. "Whoa! The train leaves in 15 minutes so we'd better be going. You still can change your mind on the way to the platform..." Cat winked as she saw Rachel still uncertain look. She waited till the Japanese girl had gathered her belongings then grabbed her hand and went for the platform.

Rachel nodded her head and smiled again. It was good fortune to find someone nice on her travels. At least she wouldn't be alone that way, having someone to talk to and confide in, even if they only knew each other for a couple of minutes. It was one of the neat things about traveling... you never know who or what you're going to meet.

"Ok then. Let's give it a whirl."
she said in agreement, and when Catherine noted the time, Rachel instinctively looked around to the nearest clock to find out what time it was. 15 minutes and she didn't even know what platform to go to. Leaning to the side, her hands reached down to pick up her bag, and before she could even stand up from her seat Catherine had grabbed her hand and they dashed off in what she took it as the direction to where the platform was. It was a little exhilarating running through the various travelers and she even smiled, as this was the type of scene that happened in movies: two girls ducking through the crowd to catch a departing train.

She brushed aside some of her hair and tucked it behind her right ear as they finally slowed down to a light walk, the crowd of people becoming less thick as they neared the train. The loud sound of the engines getting ready and the constant chit-chat of everyone around made it particularly hard to hear. She looked around and saw the different assortment of people that had gathered, and she felt a little more at ease.

"Oh, do you have the tickets on you?" Rachel asked, remembering that she hadn't received one and she would need it when they were asked before boarding.

Cat smiled at Rachel. She seemed a bit anxious all the time. Perhaps it would do her good to relax and let go. Maybe she could ask her later about it Cat thought, making a mental note.

Cat took off her backpack, opened the front pocket and produced the two tickets which she presented to the conductor who stood at the platform entrance. He had dark skin and was not older than thirty and Cat could literally feel his eyes on her body as he glanced at her, then at Rachel. He nodded, smiling, and Cat was almost sure that his eyes lingered on them after they had past the gate and headed for the train.

They found the right coach pretty quickly and looked for their compartment. It was right at the beginning of the coach so that they only had one neighbour compartment. It contained two benches that could be converted into beds for the night, a door led to a small bathroom which they had to share with their neighbours. It wasn't the Hilton but sure enough it was more comfortable than an overnight coach ride.

Catherine threw her backpack on the luggage rack and let herself fall on one bench, resting her feat on the opposite one. Sighing deeply she smiled at Rachel who still stood in the compartment door.

"Come on, make yourself comfortable." she said patting the bench beside her.

Rachel obliged and sat down next to Cat after she too had got rid of her backpack.

"Did you notice how that conductor sized you up?" Cat inquired. "I'm sure he wouldn't have objected to sharing this cabin with you."

Rachel smiled at the conductor as Catherine showed him their tickets, then walked by him while following her friend. She felt as if his eyes had followed them all the way into the train, which they probably did. Luckily their compartment was rather close, and stepping up to the door she peered inside. It didn't seem that large: just a few benches, bathroom, some luggage racks, etc.

Catherine seemed to be making herself at home, and after being beckoned inside she dropped off her own backpack and sat down, not as reclined as her friend but relaxed enough that she could probably doze off for a nap if she wanted.

"Did you notice how that conductor sized you up? I'm sure he wouldn't have objected to sharing this cabin with you."

Rachel couldn't help but smile.

"I don't think it was just me, but yes I did notice. Kind of creepy but at least he wasn't like 65 years old." she replied, folding her hands behind her head and making herself a bit more comfortable. Heck she practically closed her eyes for a good minute or two as she got used to their room.

"Thanks again for letting me come with you." Rachel said with a pleasant smile.

TearsoftheWorld said:

"You're welcome." Cat smiled back. "I'm actually glad that I don't have to spend the whole journey on my own."

She shifted her position so she could see Rachel better. 'What a beautiful girl' she thought once again. How she sat there, her arms casually folded behind her head, her eyes closed and a quiet smile on her lips, made her look like an angel. Cat could see her new friend's chest rise and fall as she breathed calmly, the sunlight that fell through the window made her hair glisten and Cat could almost feel the heat Rachel's body radiated after their short sprit through the station.

"Maybe" she began "... we should get to know each other a bit better. Are you up for a little game? I think of a question and tell you how I would answer, then you answer. After that it's your turn."

She grinned as she saw Rachel's puzzled look.

"Uhm, sorry... I never could explain very well. Let's do an example. The question is: 'Why are you on this holiday?' For me it is that I really needed a break from studying and exams. And I wanted to enjoy the time with Chloe, my best friend. We didn't have much time together, lately and wanted to catch up a bit. Her family owns a cabin there near the lakes and we wanted to relax there, talking, hiking, having fun. Well maybe she'll make it in a few days."

"So..." Cat gave a little laugh. "Now, how come that you're here?"

"I'm actually glad that I don't have to spend the whole journey on my own."

"Yeah, I'm sure this ride would be boring by yourself. I can't sit still in one place for too long, never mind spending a night by myself on a train."
Rachel said in agreement, shuddering at the thought. Turning her head to the side, she looked over at Catherine.

"Game? Um, sure."
she said before Catherine explained how it would work. It sounded like an ice-breaker type of question that one would find at camps and such, though she was still a bit puzzled at first. After the example Rachel smiled, finally getting the idea.

"Why am I here? Well the technical answer is you invited me to come along." she said with a giggle. "But um, I don't know. After college I just wanted to take the opportunity to travel around. You know, see the sites and all the cool places. I have no real reason for going, other than I want to. I thought it'd be fun." she said with a pleasant smile.

"Ok well I guess it's my turn."
she said and then thought for a moment, her head arched back and staring at the ceiling as she tried to come up with a good question. She was never really good at these kinds of things. She let out a polite chucke as she was stumped for a little bit.

"Mmk I've got one, though it's pretty cheesy." she said with a smile. "What's your favorite memory? For me it'd be this time back in like 8th grade. Our school took a trip to see Washington D.C. and we were at one of the museums at night, I can't remember which, but my friend Sam and I were walking along near the water and we just started singing this song and thinking that we'd be friends forever. I don't know why, it's more of a bittersweet memory now that I think about it." Rachel said, her voice growing weaker. "She died a few years back..." she said softly.

TearsoftheWorld said:
"She died a few years back..." she said softly.

"Oh my God, I'm sorry!" Cat said with genuine sympathy softly touching Rachel's shoulder. She fealt a bit helpless, not knowing if she should quickly skip that topic and answer the question or if she should go into it. She decided for the later.

"Well you... do you want to talk about it?" she started, feeling very stupid. "I mean, it's ok if you don't. But ... I just thought... " She took a deep breath. "When my grandpa died I didn't wanna talk about him anymore because it stirred up all these feelings inside of me. And then my mum told me that it is good to speak about those that we miss. We honour them with it in a way because we keep their memory and cherish it instead of shunning it and putting it all away."

Cat bit her lip. She wasn't sure she'd said the right thing.

Rachel shivered just slightly when Catherine touched her shoulder. She turned her head and managed an apologetic smile.

"No it's fine. I'm sorry to have dampened the mood but I'm ok." she said. "It's been a while, so I've had time to grieve, and I still remember everything we went through. But I mean her passing was tough, yet I was able to handle it." she said, her voice growing stronger.

"But I appreciate the offer. It means a lot. Besides, let's enjoy this little right before we both end up in tears. So, what about you?
" she asked.

Truth be told Cat was grateful that Rachel seemed to lighten up again. Her offer to talk about Rachel's friend had been honest but she had no idea if she could have handled Rachel breaking into tears...

But she also had noticed the real warmth in Rachel's words and it somehow heightened her opion of her new friend even more. Cat tried to focus on the question letting her gaze wander aimlessly through the compartment.

"Well it's quiet difficult to pick an absoulte favourite. One memory which makes me very happy every time I recall it is me sleeping on my fathers belly when I was very little. I was only three or four years old and when he lay down to take a nap I would climb on the sofa, lie on his belly and sleep there." She smiled, shrugging. "That's it I guess... Thinking of it always reminds me that there are people who love me unquestioning, in spite of all my flaws."

"OK, next question... Something a bit more intimate." she winked. "How many boyfriends did you already have?"

Rachel chuckled politely at the question that was asked. Well such questions were bound to come out eventually. What else are two girls supposed to talk about? Nails? Yeah right. Tilting her head back, Rachel had to think about this one. She had dated Michael back in Junior High School, but that was for about a week or two. It was mostly a relationship because it was just that: a relationship, and such things made people ten times more popular. Michael dating Rachel, Clark going out with Michelle, etc.

Her longest relationship was just about a year long, back in her freshman year of college. Karl was romantic and caring, but he knew what he wanted. She tried to stall him long enough, but he had become overbearing and it frustrated her. She wasn't a very outgoing person, and she didn't want to just be his 'girl' to be paraded in front of his friends. What was it with the guys she had dated?

"Well, probably only about 2 or 3 that lasted more than a month, but other than that... not too many." Rachel said, shrugging her shoulders.

"Most guys I know just either push too hard or don't care at all. They're male, nuff' said." she said and shrugged her shoulders again and then turned her head to the side, looking at Cat.

"How about you? Any better luck finding Mr. Right for you?"

TearsoftheWorld said:
"How about you? Any better luck finding Mr. Right for you?"

"Mr. Right? No! Nothing even near to it. I dated ..uh... six I guess, some more seriously than others. But somehow nothing worked out. The last one, Jeremy, was really nice and I thought everything went well." Cat sighed.

"And then he ditched me for some cheerleader from his football team. I guess I wasn't good-looking enough for him..." She let her hand absent-mindedly glide down her body. "I mean I'm not very athletic but it just was pretty unfair."

"OK, your turn..."

OOC: Short post so I apologize =(
---
"Yeah, it's hard to find Mr. Right. And I'm sorry to hear about Jeremy. I think my mother once told me: 'God bless the morons and keep them far far away." Oh well, I'm sure the really good ones are somewhere around the corner. Just need to look or wait for them to find us." Rachel said and shrugged her shoulders. Truth be told, Catherine wasn't unattractive. She was quite the looker, the freckles adding this extra cuteness that was hard to explain.

"My turn again, huh? Hard to think of good questions. Ok, do you have any regrets? I have one at least, though I really shouldn't regret anything I do since all my decisions lead me to some place. But anyways, I once turned down this job offer from some law office while they were still starting out. Now they're a really successful and competitive firm and well, imagine if I had said yes. The cars I'd be driving and the houses I could buy... oy!" Rachel said with a smile.

"Something I regret..." Cat frowned as she tried to think hard. "I don't know... I think that everything that happens has a meaning in it even if I don't see it at the moment. So I'm not the type to regret things. They always teach me something that I would have missed otherwise. That's why I usually try everything. Like that bungee jump I did last year. Some people say I'm brave or bold but it's rather curiosity."

While speaking she got up and stretched up to the luggage rack, fumbling at her backpack. She produced two beers and offered one to Rachel, cracked hers open and sat back down.

She grinned. "On the other hand I regret all the things I didn't try or that I did never have the opportunity to try. Like uhm... well I'm not sure if I should tell you that." Cat blushed a bit and took a quick sip. "There was one opportunity I never took and I often thought about whether that was right. I will tell you but only if you want. It's a little strange maybe..."

When Rachel nodded she carried on, looking out of the window. "About two years ago there was a party to which I went with one of my friends, Sheila. She's a really nice girl. We had lots of fun, dancing, drinking, firting with the guys and afterwards we went to her room in a hall. I had agreed to sleep over because my way home would have been really long. When we got there she suggested that I could sleep in her bed so we coud 'snuggle up' and erm... 'feel good'."

Cat paused her gaze still fixed on the landscape that rushed past the windows.

"I refused and slept on the sofa. But later on I wondered what would have happened... I mean normally I'm not into this but somehow it was a missed opportunity and I know Sheila would not have made a big deal of it. She never brought it up again however."

Catherine's voice trailed off. She was not sure if Rachel was shocked or disgusted by her story and she didn't even dare look at her. Maybe she shouldn't have spoilt their nice ride... She took another gulp and kept silent.

"Heh, I don't think I'd be able to bungee jump. I'm scared of heights." Rachel admitted, taking hold of the can of beer that Catherine offered her. It was rather cold, so she figured it had been acquired at least recently.

"Thanks."
she said, flipping the top off and taking a quick sip. She absolutely hated warm beer, although who in their right mind wouldn't? She felt a little color rise to her cheeks, enhanced probably by the slight buzz she was developing as a result of the alcohol in her system, when Catherine talked about the missed opportunity to 'snuggle' with one of her female friends. It was an experience that Rachel had never had, nor considered. She had plenty of good looking friends, but she had never looked at them as possible sexual partners. When Catherine finished talking, Rachel simply sat there in silence. What should she say? Her hands held onto the cold beer, a small trickle of perspiration dripping down the side of the bottle and onto her hand which she wiped away.

"Well, um. I'm flattered that you trust me with knowing that, but I'm not sure what to say. I mean I don't think having those regrets is uncommon or anything. I think that any guy or girl would be lucky to have you, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about." she said, trying to piece together the right combination of words to soften the mood. She wasn't very good at it though.

Cat blushed quite a bit at the flattery and smiled at Rachel. "Thank you very much. I feels good to get compliments from a girl as beautiful as you."

She paused, searching for the right words.

"Look I really think you're cute. But... um... I can understand perfectlyif you don't wanna keep this topic. I like you and I don't wanna spoil this ride for neither of us so... "

Cat sighed heavily.

"Gosh. Maybe I already did. Shouldn't have started babbling."

Rachel herself felt a little rise to her cheeks when Catherine called her beautiful. She had been called beautiful before but it was usually some guy at a party that spoke the words and not some girl on a train.

"You haven't done anything to spoil the ride so far. I mean it's been really nice and relaxing just sitting here and talking. I don't get to do that much nowadays." Rachel said, stretching her legs out and taking another sip from her beer. The container was about a little under half empty, and she could feel a slight buzz.

With the awkward silence that had developed she tried to come up with something that they could do. She had a deck of cards in her backpack, though she doubted Catherine would want to play any card games. Her friend seemed really quiet, and it seemed as if this uneasy rift had begun to develop between them.

"Well, I'm at a loss as to what to do." Rachel said with a hearty laugh, her hand scratching the back of head.

"There isn't much two crazy girls can do cooped up in a train, that's for sure." she admitted, a smile on her face.
