-----OVERVIEW
In the year 3020 the universe has finally been populated. While humans still live se they are a rare species and have mixed with other races to ensure their survival. Along with the mixing of races, vast amounts of developing projects have taken place resulting in, space hotels, inns and eatries for the weary traveler.

And with the development of space comes the laws of the universe. In such a future, there has to be law makers and those who uphold the law. Of them is the Intergalactic Navy who keep the peace between worlds. Capturing vagabonds and dangerous outlaws, the Space Control Correctional Facility is just the place to erase minds and reconstruct these villians into upstanding citizens...

However, not many of the inmates aren't very thrilled about having their brains tampered with. During a botched maintenance check, power to the facility is cut in the sector holding the means and cruelest of inmates. Using this time to escape they head for their freedom "stealing" the Fleet Admiral's most prized and newest ship: the Infinite Improbabilty Drive.

----PROPOSAL
The following was just a premise of what the story is about. Generally speaking I'm open to players throwing in their ideas to help mold this story even further. The basis of the story is a fast paced ride through space with 4 to 5 escaped inmates. Each inmate with a backstory to tell, and lively personalities to both clash and mold with each other.

Of course we need key players, a captain, pilot, etc... The major thing to know is that the ship itself is a living breathing entity. So to speak... Infinite itself is a machine but in order to work properly its core must be inserted into the system. This core, is what we call the Infinite Improbability Drive.

I will be taking on the character of Iid who is infact a living being. As for the remaining cast that is up to you the players... so give me some profiles and lets see what kind of crew we come up with.

With cyan blue eyes, a lilac shade of skin and a humaniod form, Iid is quite possibly a magnificent beauty. Otherworldly one would say, despite having various barbs and branches attatched to her body, she seems to have a flawless complexion. No hair anywhere on her form she instead has feathers that play upon her head. Her body is lithe and agile allowing her to bend and mold to any new additions to the ships inner chamber.
--Abilities: Iid is a bio-organic creation used to power the Infinite. Within the ship is a chamber filled with soil and furtilizers. Once inside the chamber, Iid fuses with the organic materials provided allowing her to power the ship in its entirity. She can bring the defense and weapons system online as well as navigate the vastness of space.
--Personality: Off hand she seems cold and aloof, no emotions what-so-ever, it seems Iid was created to simply server her crew with no questions asked. However, upon her maiden voyage in space she displayed some interesting hidden emotions. While noted, her superiors decided to ignore them deciding it was a glitch in her programing... or was it?
--Backstory: From her creation, Iid has lived under the tutelage of the Admiral. Trusting no one else with such a delicate tool, the Admiral kept her close at all times schooling her at home and in labs. Her life consisted of training in simulated chambers and constant tests in laboratories. Back and forth from military base to the next, Iid is used to the sickening smell of the military and she hates it more than anything. While she detests the sight of the Admiral she has not once betrayed him or shown any signs of doing so, as her programming does not allow her to disobey orders from her superiors. Even so she holds some hidden emotions within her that beg to be set free; as shown in her maiden voyage aboard the Infinite... what may become of this is anyone's guess.

Pilot.

Well I do like space operas, and I don't need glory.

So I'll be doing a pilot in the style of Hoban 'Wash' Washburn. Talented but distracted, prone to comedy in inoppurtune times and all around good guy.

He was jailed for a crime he actually did commit caught doing a smuggling run, of general hospital equipment and medical supplies. And drugs. He is unapologetic about it as he said; he was paying the bills.

I'll get a sincere Bipo up soon but I'm out for the rest of the day.
 
And anyone can go for captain but I do want a bad ass captain. Gotta have guts if he's going to command a crew of inmates. Hehe.
 
hmm just as an idea for the starting settings we can probably have the prison be an isolated space station far from any civilized planets.

Power goes out, each convict escapes and finds that the only availible ship is the "Infinite" where the fleet admiral (or whoever was currently controling the ship) was stationed for the prison inspection/ botched maintance.

Ablities:
Other then his normal form Caid has has three diffrent modes from which he may enter.

1) Cyber assult mode: A thin screen falls over Caids eyes like a pair of shades and glows in an assortment of colors. Mode enables him to hack, rewrite, destroy or even improve performance of *most* electronical devices quickly with minimal access or assistance. While in this mode Caid is unable to move and proform any other action.

2) Repair mode: Enables Caid to locate, identifiy and repair malfunctions within other machinery with his own personal repair kit embeded within his left arm.

3) Battle mode: Caid usally dosn't fight, perfering to fight his eneimes from behind the sceans in his Cyber assult mode. However when cornored and out of options Caid engages his auto defensive system giving him a light layer of defensive armor and a small pulse gun that's built into his right arm.

Personality:
Much like many androids Caid has an off standish personality with little emotion or understanding of organic life forms and their unlogical feelings. He reacts and acts around events based upon given logics for the most productive results for both himself and those who is most benifical to him, everyone else is concidered expendable.
One thing that sets him off as diffrent from most androids however is his uncanny curiosity to everything around him and his desire to learn and go beyound his orginal programing which he himself has hacked and reconfigured.

Backstory: Created deep within the labs of the Intergalactic Navy's intellegence department, Caid was artifically built through the means of combining both organgic and mechanical parts. Their goal was to create an artifical android capible of sneaking into hostile territory undetected and bypassing their security codes to steal and spy on enemy information.

Unfortinitly before project Caid could be deployed his creators noticed strange readings from within Caids mind and found that he himself had the ablity to rewrite his own os and scripts and make new ones where he shouldn't. Reporting their findings to the Intellegence department they decided to abort the mission fearing that this turn of events could jeperdize everything and even through their nation into war.

Caids fate was to be terminated along with any retaining documents of his creation however before Caid could be shut down perminitly Caid murdered his creators and destroyed and rewritten everything retaining to his deactivation code.

Having finally been captured and the navy realizing they couldn't simply shut Caid down anymore, he was taken to a prison (the current prison where the story begins) where he was to be terminated by other means.

Hmm this is a hijacked ship, yes? And so the captain is presumably a criminal as well, or at least someone willing to work in cahoots?

Nice character Inki, sounds like he'll be fun... Just don't make him overbearing okay. Other than that you're onboard.

The general idea I had in mind was what you presented so that works out fine for me. The only twist is that I'm not making it easy for the inmates to escape, so Iid is not on the ship and is in fact with the Admiral and his crew. Therefore, someone's going to have to come up with an elaborate way of luring Iid away from the Admiral and into the ship...

You'll also have to keep in mind no one knows what Iid's purpose is so dragging her to the ship wouldn't seem logical to an outlaw unless he/she knew about her or it was necessary for survival.

Haha, that works, I can play a former Intergalactic Navy captain that was put in the brig for a crime he didn't commit. Needless to say five years in jail puts thoughts of revenge into his mind.

Hmm we could say there's a specific voice protocol that will cause programming that would otherwise require her to not following anyone else's orders (especially a Court Martialed ship captain) to be overridden. 'Course 'Jack', with his knowledge of the Fleet Admiral back when the Fleet admiral was but a senior officer, moreover they were fairly close. Threatening the fleet admiral's family would get the job done.
 
Of course there is voice recognition protocol and passwords to consider but we'll get to that bridge when we near it...hehe.

Not a problem, just think of him as the high tech engineer of the group with limits and faults just like everyone else.
I'll keep my character in check as I usally do and if somethings off just let me know and I'll be more then happy to edit my post.
 
It's all about the tone and depth of a given character. Each character will have his or her boons, skills, but they'll also have their limitations and flaws.
 
Sounds good to me, now then we need to snag more players perferrably female ones.

Need someone to play the Admiral (which I'll do for the time being) but for later it'd be nice to have a constant entity trying to track the group.

And there's no limitations on where they group goes. Various planets, inns and all sorts of places.
 
Our Pilot

Ok yes his name is a horrible pun, but considering how much of him I'm lifiting from 'Wash', out of firefly, this was only the next logical step.

Name: Airdrie 'Tumble' Heathrow
Age: 28
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 160
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Blue

Tumble got his nickname in prison, where his general foolishness and otherwise little used tumbling kept him safe. He was fortunate to go to one of the few completely open Jailing planets, imprisoning Men, Women, and Robots. While the population was kept mostly segreegated, there were escapes and this cut down on the sodomy.

He kept Jovial and got the reputation of somewhat a prankser yet strangely survived, no one seemed to think he was worth the effort of killing and he made them laugh. he was also a fairly decent repair man, able to work on anything form Guards personal transport (Under heavy supervision of course), to inmates watches. Over time they foresaw a problem with letting skilled people have access to machinery and transferred him.

He worked in the cafeteria and passed things between people for a certain fee. He had been caught for smuggling. Illegal Drugs along with medical supplies, It seemed like a good idea at the Time but they all did. He'd served five years of a sentence and was really aching to get out among the stars again instead of living on this planet, slinging hash.

Skills: Tumble is surprisingly dextrous even for a ship pilot and he makes the jokes that he can fly or drive anything. He's almost right. He knows a good bit about repairs and his hands are always busy. He cooks and juggles and has some talent as an gymnast but nothing more than sideshow amusement. He feels most comfortable behind a control deck with a ship responding to his touch. He's a fair shot but very uncomfortable in a fight, it just isn't his way. he prefers to leave that to the bigger people.

--Abilities: She's talented with guns and most weaponry. She's a born leader and she knows how to get people to do what she wants them to. Normally she only has to point her gun at them and tell them to get their asses moving. Motivational speaker? Check. She can be quite persuasive without her gun as well...

--Personality: She is a firecracker. If she does't get her way and right then... well get the hell out of her way because hell is about to rain down. She's got a little temper and rarely forgets a thing, holding a grudge is definitely one of her many 'things'. She doesn't put up with any shit and she hates waiting. She does have a good understanding of time and how long something should take so she doesn't think of herself as demanding. She has been known to fly off the handle but doesn't show many her sensitive side... it's weakness it is. She can seem almost friendly but that's only if she's in a really really good mood.

--Backstory: Juniper had been caught. It had been so stupid, at least in her mind. She had been pulling off crime after crime and was on her way back to meet up with her crew on her ship but they weren't there waiting. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem except there was an entire fleet of military and police ships waiting for her. She immediately threw herself into reverse and took off at top speed. She had flown down to a small little backwater planet hoping to hide out but it wasn't meant to be.

She was caught an hour later when some civilian clipped her and their ships got stuck together. June was furious. Of course she fired a few shots at the man but it was hard to get a good shot in with the police hauling her into one of their space cruisers.

"How could they leave me?" She was heard yelling as she continued to fight. "I'm their Captain dammit!" She screamed.

She was too good for most of her 'jobs' to get pinned on her but fighting the police and shooting at them found her badass in prison.

--Abilities: Spending more than a decade of his life, starting with ISF Officer's academy, his knowledge of the vast array of ships in the ISF's inventory is deep and his knowledge of astronavigation and tactics was once considered indispensable on the front lines of any conflict zone. In addition his knowledge of close quarters combat has grown since his interment in prison.
--Personality: Once a soft spoken, quick thinking young man Jonathan, Congo Jack as he was known in the brig, has grown into a gruff, outspoken and headstrong individual who isn't above holding a grudge. Although his time spent imprisoned has not had all bad results on his once demure demeanor, Jack is now a progenitor of listening to what those around him are saying and interpreting the information to be useful in the situation.
--Backstory: Jonathan was on the fast road to the top, he spent four years at ISF Officer's Academy on Sigma Epsilon Four, each year he earned the highest marks of his class, and graduated with honors and an assignment on a a C47 Transport Corvette. After spending two years transporting cargo of all types, from the mundane necessity to highly classified prototype weaponry he was finally promoted to Captain and transferred to the Battlecruiser Green Dragon, and sent to the front lines to help quell rebellious behavior in a recently (about 100 years) established colony on the edge of 'civilized' ISF Control.

While there the Green Dragon under his skilled command participated in twenty-seven engagements with rebel forces, six of which were occasions where he was heavily outnumbered to the tune of two to one. Many times the Green Dragon suffered significant damage and was docked for repairs, but in each of these occasions it was noted by ISF Fleet Admirals that very few casualties were suffered aboard the Green Dragon, and the morale rate was very high.

During one engagement Jonathan ordered his guns to fire on a group of vessels he was perusing, unbeknownst to him a close friend of the Fleet Admiral himself was aboard one of the vessels, despite the fact that all aboard were supposedly working in cahoots with the rebel actions he was reprimanded and confined to regimental Headquarters for further investigation. He was eventually Court Martialed and sentenced to two decades in Prison. It goes without saying that Jack has had some time to grow a little sore at the Fleet Admiral, a man he once knew quite well and considered a close friend.

Alright now that I got a few interested parties I'll go ahead and get this thing rolling. Anyone that wants to jump in later is more than welcomed BUT we will need to keep a tight lid on players aboard the Infinite.

I'm open to anyone playing the Fleet Admiral, would be nice to have an actual player rather than NPC. And I don't mind other additions just be sure it has something to do with the story. Or you can have a character connected to someone elses (be sure to PM them first to make sure its okay).

As for the captain I think it would be fun to give it to Juniper. So here we go.
