Politics is corrupt and even more so on the campaign trail. Politicos an their minions will do anything to get those crucial campaign dollars and votes. Special interests will do anything to get the support of politicians. And some just have fun. The idea is to explain why politicians seem so happy all the time :D

A candidate for Governor is holding a fund raiser. Before she goes out -yes, she, I'm looking for a female candidate- before she goes out to greet the crowd, there is the usual negotiation behind closed doors. There she talks to potential contributors, political pressure groups seek her support and her staff assists in the task -some taking major contributors aside for a "private" chat. The even is organized by a long-time supporter of the candidate, me. [Insert cheering here]

First and foremost we would need a governor, who has a staff at her disposal to make her happy.
The staff who wants to please Her (male and female)
Wealthy folk who are to be "convinced" to donate (male and female, it's an equal opportunity thing)
And activist groups who want her to side with their ideas (and will "press the flesh" to do so) (male and female).

Anyone interested in being seduced by power? Corrupted by the proximity of riches? :D

(Hopefully it can be a-political :p )

Background - Rouge is acting as aide to Candace, trying to help her achieve her goal of becoming governor. He is very much an 'organiser', deals with some of the hopeful governor's PR, looks for possible ways to gain publicity and simply oversees the welfare of her campaign. Relatively young in comparison to some other political aides, which puts him under fire from opposing parties, but his debating skills make him a valuable asset. Has a strong attraction to Candace but keeps it private as he worries he'll lose his job as it would be deemed 'unprofessional.'

Recently started getting involved in both local and national politics, in that she became the face of her clients when it came to campaign support. Her meteoric rise was due to her own intelligence, street-smart ways, and quite probably attractive good looks. But even she has been surprised at how twisted the background scenes of politics could be - and she was happy to use that to her advantage. Will be attending the campaign fund-raising event held in a few days' time.

James Madison (sorry).
35, Proprietor of the hotel and connected businessman. Enjoys politicking, but has a couple of skeletons in the closet that keeps him from the limelight. As such, he lends any possible assistance to his good friend Candice MacIntyre. As local Party delegate, he organized the fund raiser, introducing the key players to the candidate or staff accordingly, and making sure things go according Governor MacIntyre's best interests.
He's tall, has a warm rumbling voice and easy smile. But when things go wrong, his blue eyes can shoot fire, and his cropped sandy hair bristles. His chiseled features fit both these roles.

And it looks like you need investors, so far the campaign staff outnumbers them. But you have no lobbyists, and no activists, when it is such a fun role. I mean really has anyone not seen Thank You For Smoking ?

So here we go let's have a lot of fun and be a lobbyist for I dunno let's say Pharmutec, the makers of high end, bad back medicine, cough syrup, and a number of legal steroid/growth hormone/protein powders and muscle builders.

And hey at least it's more original than say the defense and military supply industry.

Ben Kittring has dark thick short cut hair that sets of the rest of his square jawed face. Sharp blue eyes watch easily and lazily. After all they don't have to react to 90m/ph pitches anymore. He has impossible five o clock shadow which is perpetually there, never really becoming stubble or staying clean shaven. Navy and Charcoal Power suits fit well over him and he still has the muscle to drive the ball, but plays in a different field now for much bigger paycheques.

Yes he is male and yes you can edit to be on my staff. I mean really he's just the face and the talker someone has to actually know what all that stuff will do to you.

That is very true.

Lobbyists are important, and they will have lots of fun. That is, of course, if they work hard, and firmly for the Governor ;)
