Some of the basics:

Rounds:
Every round in UFC competition is 5 minutes in duration. Title matches have five rounds, and non-title matches have three rounds. There is a one minute rest period in-between rounds.

Weight divisions:
The UFC currently uses five weight classes:

Lightweight: (146 - 155 lb)
Welterweight: (156 - 170 lb)
Middleweight: (171 - 185 lb)
Light Heavyweight: (186 - 205 lb)
Heavyweight: (206 - 265 lb)

Cage:
The UFC uses its trademarked octagonal caged arena to stage bouts. The cage is composed of an eight-sided metal fencing coated with black vinyl, with a diameter of 38 ft, allowing of 30 ft of space from point to point. The fence is 6 ft high, and the cage is atop a platform 4 ft from the ground. It has foam padding around the top and between each of the eight sections and has two entry/exit gates opposite of each other.
The mat, painted with sponsorship logos and art, is used only once per event.

Attire:
All competitors must fight in approved shorts, without shoes or any other sort of foot padding. Shirts, gis or long pants (including gi pants) are not allowed. Fighters must use approved light gloves (4-6 ounces) that allow fingers to grab. These gloves enable fighters to use tremendous punching power with less risk of an injured or broken hand. The gloves also mean that a fighter who gets hit with a strong blow will likely go down quickly, reducing the risk of brain damage after a long career that is often seen in boxing, where heavy gloves allow repeated blows to the head.

Matches usually end via:

Submission: a fighter taps on the mat or his opponent three times (or more) or verbally submits.
Knockout: a fighter falls from a legal blow and is either unconscious or unable to immediately continue.
Technical Knockout: stoppage of the fight by the referee if it is determined a fighter cannot "intelligently defend" himself or by ringside doctor due to injury.
Judges' Decision: Depending on scoring, a match may end as:
unanimous decision (all three judges score a win for one fighter),
split decision (two judges score a win for one fighter with the third for the other),
majority decision (two judges score a win for one fighter with one for a draw),
unanimous draw (all three judges score a draw),
majority draw (two judges score a draw).
split draw (the total points for each fighter is equal)
A fight can also end in a technical decision, technical draw, disqualification, forfeit or no contest.

Judging criteria:
The ten-point must system is in effect for all UFC fights; three judges score each round and the winner of each receives ten points, the loser nine points or less. If the round is even, both fighters receive ten points. In New Jersey, the fewest points a fighter can receive is 7, and in other states by custom no fighter receives less than 7.

Fouls:
The Nevada State Athletic Commission currently lists the following as fouls:

Butting with the head.
Eye gouging of any kind.
Biting.
Hair pulling.
Fish hooking.
Groin attacks of any kind.
Putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent.
Small joint manipulation.
Striking to the spine or the back of the head.
Striking downward using the point of the elbow.
Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea.
Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh.
Grabbing the clavicle.
Kicking the head of a grounded opponent.
Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent.
Stomping a grounded opponent.
Kicking to the kidney with the heel.
Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.
Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area.
Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent.
Spitting at an opponent.
Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent.
Holding the ropes or the fence.
Using abusive language in the ring or fenced area.
Attacking an opponent on or during the break.
Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee.
Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat.
Flagrantly disregarding the instructions of the referee.
Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury.
Interference by the corner.
Throwing in the towel during competition.

When a foul is charged, the referee in their discretion may deduct one or more points as a penalty. If a foul incapacitates a fighter, then the match may end in a disqualification if the foul was intentional, or a no contest if unintentional. If a foul causes a fighter to be unable to continue later in the bout, it ends with a technical decision win to the injured fighter if the injured fighter is ahead on points, otherwise it is a technical draw.

Match conduct:

The referee has the right to stop the fighters and stand them up if they reach a stalemate on the ground (where neither are in a dominant position nor work toward one) after a verbal warning. This rule is codified in Nevada as the stand-up rule.
If the referee pauses the match, the match is resumed with the fighters in the position they were before.
Any grabbing of the cage will result in a verbal warning, followed by an attempt by the referee to release the grab by pulling on the grabbing hand. If that attempt fails or if the fighter continues to hold the cage, the referee may charge a foul.

This thread is going to be based off the T.V show Ultimate Fight reality show. If you haven't seen the show then PM me and I'll give you details. The only difference between the show and this thread is that there is no special guest coach. My character is going to be a permanent guest coach for the remainder of the show. There other difference is that women can also be fighters on the show.

Anyone who is interested in playing a fighter, regular coach, ring girls or camera crew post your bio here.
If you have questions or comments, please PM me.

Sweet ass sweet. I don't quite know how to work in the sexual angle but who the hell cares! It's UFC!!

I do have one question though...how MMA fighting is going to work on a board like this. I mean, how do you RP putting someone in a submission hold? Anyway I'll post my profile anyway cause my one true love in life is MMA.

Paul "Devious" Nevius
Age: 22
Ht: 6'
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Grey
Weight: 185lbs
Middleweight
Prefered style: BJJ and Kickboxing. Prefers stand-up.
Fighting out of: Team Quest in Greshem Oregon.
A student of Randy "The Natural" Coture and Matt "The Law" Lindland, Paul is a talented, hungry young fighter who moved quickly through his amatuer career and went pro with only one lost blemishing his record. Paul likes to stand up and slug and is skilled in using the Muay Thai clinch to throw heavy knees and elbows, but he is also able to submit an opponent using Brazilian Jiujitsu. His main weakness is against wresteling and his ground-and-pound defense is questionable.

The submission holds.............Hum.........Good point. We will cross that bridge when we come to it.......................lol........

Also no one goes home in this version. If everyone got voted off then this thread would go no where lol. The person that looses the match has to go to the opposite team.

Dante Smith
Age: 20
Height: 5'10
Weight: 163lbs.
Hair: Black
Eyes:Green
Welterweight Fighter
Styles: Muay Thai stand-up, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling

A relative amateur, Dante doesn't have a lot of professional fighting experience, but fought in many amateur tournaments before having the chance to compete for a spot on Ultimate Fighter. He was an underdog but surprised most people at the tournament when he fought his way up to the final round in the Welterweight category, winning on a surprising submission in the fourth round of the final when he trapped his opponent in an Omopalata, forcing his opponent to tap out. Headstrong and cocky he thinks himself invincible, though time will prove he is anything but..

Well in this season of TUF thats how they got it laid out. The fighters that lose still stay in the house and train and shit but they just can't compete anymore.

Ok, each bout is 5 minutes long and has 3 rounds. Just so that each bout doesn't last 4 pages, each minute of the fight will have a 2 post maximum with a restriction of two paragraphs per post. I don't want the component to be dead in the first two minutes of the fight because the posts were 780000 paragraphs long lol. Thanks for that suggestion FenixZero! Helpful!

As for damages when two components are in the octagon. Anything small, like punches to the arms, sides of the stomach, kicks to the lower legs, or kicks to the sides will be automatically taken by the component as long as the hits aren't coming at like 5 in a row. Lets play fair. Also, there will be an allowance of 1 dodge per post. Got to take hits somehow lol. Any hits or kicks like a kick to the face, direction kick to the front of the stomach, kicks to the thighs, a direct punch to the face intended to inflict damage, a punch to the face intended to KO,an elbow to the head where bleeding is involved or a punch to the stomach are to be included in your posts as direct hits. When this happens, the other player will not post until my NPC referee has posted. My NPC will decide if those hits count. If they count, my NPC will state exactly what is done to the character (KO, dazed, bleeding). My NPC referee will also post dodges for the other component. If a dodge happens then I will fix up the loose ends (where the component now is and such things) in my post.

Have any questions on that, PM me.

Alexia McCormick

Alexia McCormick is the daughter of legendary boxer, Joseph McCormick. While Alexia grew up, she watched her father fight in his matches and win 90% of the time. At the age of 16, Alexia watched at a front row seat while her father competted in his last match. It was then that Alexia realized this was what she wanted to do. She wanted to be the greatest female boxer that ever lived. But Alexia had one small problem with this dream. Most female boxers were tall and had great muscle definition. Alexia was 5'7 at the most and weighed about 120 pounds soaking wet but she was able to use this to her advantage. She moved up in the world of street fighting rather quickly and when Alexia had turned 18 a local coach scooped her up and perfected her fighting. By the time she was 20, she had made a name for herself and was on her way to the top when a sudden accident changed all that. During her last fight, her component landed a hard hit to Alexia's cheek. Everyone knew it was over at the point. Alexia went done hard and shattered her knee. She could never box again. Now at the age of 21, the Ultimate Fighter had grabbed her as the guest coach for the duration of the show. She knew she would be highly underestimated by the boys on the show but she would show them a thing or two. Alexia moved quick, could squirm out of any situation, could dodge quickly and when she landed punches, she aimed for the KO. Her came hard and fast then was back out of the way. Alexia didn't how the guys on the show would take to being trained by a woman but she didn't care. They would have to get over it.

Alexia:
Height- 5'7
Weight- 120 pounds or so
Body Type- Small and petite with slight muscle definition
Hair- Black
Eyes- Pale Green

((If you two are ready, Ill make the IC for ya!))

Sure, can't promise I have too much more posting left in me tonight, we'll see what happens though.
