OOC thread for Aesops Grimm Look at Mother's Enchanted Forest

waiting

to see what other male characters sign up before posting again to the main thread. Feel free to post as you will in the meantime. As much as it is his nature, Mervin doesn't want to get into trouble this early!

If no one objects... i could post as the 7 "other dwarves" who booked the party for Red. Im sure she could make, ahem, short work of them. I am excited to get the thread going.

From reading your posts in other threads, i am very excited to be in this one with such a creative group! I will try my best to keep up!

Robert is the owner of "Men in Green Gardening and Plant Nursery". With the help of his assistants John Little and Scarlett Williams, Robert keeps the finest gardens of all the land in pristine condition. They even deal with specialist problems like beanstalk trimming, providing straw suitable for weaving into gold, or flame proof roses for when a male Dragon has stayed out a little too late singing peasant houses and his dinner has gotten warm.

The only problem Robert has is that he is Robert Hood, the younger brother of a certain famous criminal. Younger by about fifteen minutes. Yes, Robin Hood, the dashingly handsome hero who robs the rich to give to the poor has a twin brother.

He's got the same heroic chin, the same twinkling blue eyes, the same flowing locks (he's dyed his brown which doesn't help the mistaken identity problem). The same everything.

Yes, he uses a sword to trim back pesky thorn hedges - it keeps an edge so much better than those cheap sickles. Yes, he sometimes uses a bow and arrow to keep birds out of the flower beds, but really he's an entirely different person.

OOC - Can I play?

Everyone

Welcome the newest resident of the Enchanted Forest... Robert Hood!

Can't wait to see where this one goes. Post your character in the main thread and enjoy yourself!

Love the Transylvania U. idea. Hope that thread takes off as well!

Okay, call me bitchy, but I wondered if we could not insult the intelligence of the other writers/readers by posting quotes?

I've seen, in other threads, one person's post quoted by the next three and even four others following. It makes me twitch -- not in a good way -- and makes me think of Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine gone wrong.

Posting your characters' names in the subject line ought to be more than enough of a clue as to whose character is coming up.

i sent

a pm to our lastest inquirer but Mama G has not posted yet so I guess there is not any further interest there.

I was thinking we need could use a leader for the FFTVA, if we want to turn it into a front for the villians. It could be a cool place to plot and plan under the cover of a 12 step program. ("Hi, I'm Mervin and I am a villian" ) We could circulate all kinds of unsavory rumors about the activities to keep the goodie two shoe types away from actual meetings.

Pam the pig has already laid the groundwork speculating about the activities taking place. Her gab session with the castle cook would naturally spread the misinformation like wildfire. The cook could be a natural misinformation hub for the entire forest.

I didn't originally plan to have Guido stick around, but the dwarves could challenge the rival fftva for control of the forest's business affairs. But I think for that aspect to go anywhere we would need a strong lead to run the show. a somewhat wicked but competence challenged king or queen or other overlord wannabee would have to step up.

any thoughts? Any ideas of how anyone wishes to see their characters develop?

I would like to see some discussion taking place here to coordinate posts. Details of encounters should still take place in pms so that the rest of the cast can enjoy the surprises and laughs.

Especially in cases where we refer to other characters, lets be sure to make sure the owner of the character sees the actions in step with that character before going ahead. I have been guilty of this starting a practical joke struggle between the rabbit and wolf without clearing it first and I really should not have done so. I apologize to Chris for that.

Keep up the good work. I get many pms from readers commenting on our thread. If you know someone who has a flair for this nonsense, please feel free to invite them to play along.

Thanks to all.

Well, Red is wandering through the woods fairly aimlessly...anyone want to try something with the charming young lady...?

Well, I might just join you.

But, where did everyone go? I thought we were doing great, haven't seen much of anything for more than a week.

Is there still a FFTVA meeting to go to? I don't want to show up only for nothing to happen.

...

hello?

Felix Manosta

name: Felix Manosta, the boot wearing cat
gender: Male
race: Cat
age: 20
occupation: Boot wearing cat, fencer extrordinaire
hieght: 3'8"
wieght: 75lbs
Orange fur, calm green eyes.

Felix was a standard street cat until he ventured a bit too closely to a wizard's house and ate a strange tasting lab rat. After that his ability to walk on two feet and talk came to him. He soon learned of the death of his owner to a mysterious sword fighter and then swore to himself that he would become a great sword master himself so that he could avenge his master by approaching this fearsome foe and uttering the words "My name is Felix Manosta. You executed my master. Prepare to perish!"

That was years ago, and he has since lost his way. He does odd jobs for people when the price is right, arranging meetings between young maidens, and strapping young males, slaying ogres, that sort of thing. He has become little more than a sword for hire, still dreaming about one day finding the man who slew his master, but always doubting that he would ever find this beast.

In his early years he was rumored to be a bit of a coward, and as a result he was given the horribly embarrassing title of "Puss in boots". He has worked long and hard to spread word of his courage and charm throughout the land, but every now and then the nickname will catch up to him and he will either lash out at the person who uses it, or go off to sulk in a corner.

He introduces himself as "The Master Cat" to any perspective employers, and quickly lists off a few of the many things that he is willing to do...if the price is right, everything from kidnapping to assassination. He has loose morals, and follows the largest purse, but those who attack his pride rather than his desire for gold will find it much easier (and cheaper) to utilize his skills.

He just followed me home... honest

Dear Woofie,

Can we keep him? Purdy please?

*whispers* He can Adapt-a-Quote "The Princess Bride". *waggles eyebrows*

Love,
Gladiola, The Mildly Wicked :rose:
