We tried last year....
anyone want to try again?
I think I might be game just as long as it's not some pleather wearing latex fetish party. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but maybe at a DC bar where we can meet new people and drink some overpriced PBR?

I'd most certainly be interested so long as it is not pouring like it is right now! Many places to choose from -- I work right near G'town so that could work! When were you thinking BP?

...we'd need more people!
I was thinking maybe someplace like the black cat because it's chill, no cover, and near other places if people don't like it?
there are also lots of other places I've net yet discovered and open to hearing about!

It's been super difficult to get any of these Lit'togethers going. I wish you well.

I made a Lit-together in NC a few years back (I'm in VA). They are a lot of fun. Being Litigans, all the "social" taboos were off so the topic of conversations...well, you can imagine! They are difficult to arrange and get attendees, however. Perhaps if ya' arranged someplace accessible and safe but "off the beaten track". That way, attendees don't have to worry about being recognized and questioned later regarding their activities and whereabouts. Perhpas at one of the towns off an exit of I-95. There's quite a few bars, retaraunts, etc.

Anyhow, just my 2cents. Good luck to ya.

...i was thinking something somewhat metro accessable and around other places so if you aren't comfortable, or want to go to a different bar/restaurant with someone, you can.

I don't think people should worry about being recognized because we wouldn't have to be loud about being lit-ers

c'mon people might be fun

i have no problem being the center of attention;)

but you are, of course, right....

I guess I would consider going, if it was a convenient time and people show some interest. Maybe try linking this thread with the Virginia and Maryland threads to gauge more interest

bah they should find this thread, not the other way around;)

(just kiddin')

I am up for it

I would love to get together.......maybe I am just new enough not to know any better but I think it would be fun

literotica meeting in DC,VA, MD area

Hi all,

been browsing for a while to find a site dedicated to erotic fiction that seems serious about what it does.

Read through the MD post threads and was wondering whether anyone would actually be interested in a meeting somewhere neutral like a bar, which some people suggested. Since nothing concrete has been put forward I'll make a start. What about Cleveland Park or Dupont area in DC end of September beginning of October? It is fairly busy so gives people opportunity to escape if they don't like it or feel uncomfortable. Anyone know any quiet places where there's good chatting?

Could have a nice chat about erotic writing or whatever people wanna talk about or just to meet fellow literoticacionados from DC area.

hugs
C.

PS: posted same post on different thread to maybe "spread the word" a bit. hopefully we can work something out!

I'd love to get together with folks from the board. It would definitely be a fun time to have a beer or two and chat with like-minded pervs like myself *wink*.

...i was thinking some place not as quiet!
most places around dupont (i.e. `8th St. Lounge) are very overpriced...
$10 cover and $14 drinks. only fun when someone else is buying!

It would depened on what people are looking for to pick a place. kramer books has outside seating and drinks, but it's not really a bar...

I agree, but as I posted elsewhere, there WAS one about 3 years ago, so it's not impossible...keep me in the loop if you can!

Let's go!

Ok so we have people interested that doesn't seem to be the problem. Let's just pick a place in the middle- DC (easy to get to, easy to find) set a date and just go. If this works out once maybe it can become something that we have often. Like I said I am trying to meet some new people and make new friends!

Pick a place and a date, spread the word and see who shows up!

I agree...run it up the flagpole and see who salutes. ;)

Anyone going to take charge here? I propose something in early October, but that's cuz my schedule is usually crazy busy...

I'd be up for it if I can get up there...it's a 4 hour drive for me.

[hi-jack] Anyone in the NOVA/DC-metro interested in taking in the Maryland Renaissance Festival? [/hi-jack]

I'll post a place suggestion: Buffalo Billiards near Dupont
It's metro accessible, pretty much right in the middle of things if people want to skip out and go elsewhere. Those that don't like to sit still can do the pool or darts thing. The rest of us can sit, drink, chat etc..
