Magic Knights Rayearth--Ten Years Past

At a tower in Tokyo, three girls meet with plans of visiting friends, unaware that they are about to accidentally take a young man along with them. The young man, likewise unaware that he is about to be dragged forcibly out of the world and into a new one, sits quietly on a bench in the tower, reading a book about swords.

OC: I would love to play as the blue-haired Umi if you'd have me! I am completely unfamiliar with the story though, so if you have a link to a summary or outline or something, or I'm thinking this may be based on a fantasy RP? Just lead me there... or PM me a synopsis of the basics is great, too. And, since I'm completely unaware of the storyline, I'll let you intro it.

EDIT:
I've now followed the link and understand the story! The beginning of the article explains the making and model of the style of comics/animations themselves. Upon first read, I'd decided that it was Greek to me. I ran to get a drink, and returned to follow all of the blue links to the words I didn't know. After reading those, I read the first part again and it made more sense. The second part of the article describes the plotline of the story, which of course was very helpful. At the end of the summary, there is another link to the characters and I followed that one as well. I read each of the character descriptions, concentrating especially on the one I have chosen, and on any character whose description included my character's name. The descriptions of the character also further explain the storyline, and I feel more comfortable now than before.

If anyone is eyeing this thread but you are unfamiliar or only slightly familiar with the characters and/or plotline, I encourage you to read the link included above and reconsider joining. I think it will be an incredible SRP if we can get the players. Thanks for noticing!

1 Characters of the first season
1.1 Hikaru Shidou - (taken by Devilgrl): She is headstrong and determined, and in many ways very childish, but she is fiercely loyal to her friends. She uses fire-based magics, such as Fire Arrow and Crimson Lightning.

1.2 Umi Ryuuzaki - (taken by showdolly): A fencing champion, this quick-tempered and at first uncaring girl is perhaps the best-suited for the task at hand, but is also the most reluctant of the three Magic Knights. She uses water-based magics called Water Dragon and Sapphire Whirlwind.

1.3 Fuu Hououji - (taken by White_Jade): is more quiet and reserved than the other two members of the group. Her special skill is archery. She is also highly intelligent. Her magics, Winds of Protection and Healing Wind, are air-based, and are mostly healing and defensive in nature, although she has some other attacks, such as Emerald Tornado and Emerald Cyclone. She has an odd sense of humor and constantly points out the obvious, much to Umi's dismay.

***1.4 Clef - (OPEN): He is the chief of all sorcerers in Cephiro, and was formerly Princess Emeraude's attendant.

***1.5 Mokona - (open):a mischievous, nonsensical creature with a striking similarity to a white manju bun, with a red gem in his forehead above his eyes. From this gem he can produce a tent for the girls to sleep in, food, and other necessary supplies. He is unable to speak, aside from repeating the sound "puu", although Hikaru seems to be able to understand him somewhat. In the manga, Mokona is revealed to be the creator of the universe, along with Cephiro, and the other countries, as well as the laws for each of the countries.

1.6 Alcyone (this character dies so will not be available for our RP.)

***1.7 Ascot - (OPEN): unusual ability to summon monsters who he considers to be his friends. used the power of his own will to make himself into an adult because of his love for Umi. was able to tell Umi his feelings before she left to fight for Tarta.

***1.8 Caldina - (open): in addition to her dancing skills she's also an accomplished illusionist and hypnotist. In the anime she has great affection for Ascot, who she treats as a naïve kid brother. It is revealed in the second manga series that she is native to Chizeta. It's also been shown that Caldina is incredibly good at cards and other games of chance. Romantically, Caldina becomes involved with Lafarga in both versions of the series.

***1.9 Lafarga - (open): He is the captain of the Guard and charged with protecting the Pillar. Zagato hypnotized him into trying to kill the Magic Knights as a last-ditch effort to stop them before they challenged him personally. In the second part of the story, he is romantically involved with Caldina.

***1.10 Inouva - (open): sporting elven looks and manner. He was a devoted servant of Zagato's, is not, as he appears, human. He is in truth an animal-shaped elemental of lightning, but assumed a human form in order to better serve his new master. The animal form was rather like a giant dog with two tendrils streaming from its head, His weak spot proved to be the gemstone imbedded in his forehead in either form.

1.11 Emeraude - The PIllar, dies and is not available to play.

***1.12 Ferio - (open): The Magic Knights first meet Ferio in the Forest of Silence. Tough and possessing a sword taller than he is, he quickly develops a soft spot for Fuu which by the second season has evolved into love. Never completely honest with others, he made himself difficult for our heroines to trust. he was Princess Emeraude's one and only younger brother.

1.13 Presea - made weapons, died and is unavailable.
{In the second season in of the anime series, her twin sister, Sierra, poses as her. The only one to realize that Sierra is not Presea is Alcione, and she also recognizes Sierra's deception stemming from her love for Clef.}

1.14 Zagato - first season antagonist, dies and is unavailable.

1.15 The Three Mashin (Rune Gods) - (not played, but used as role props by their respective girls) These are the three legendary guardians of Cephiro. Umi's is Celes , who first appears as a dragon; Fuu's is Windam, a four-winged bird; and Hikaru's is Rayearth, a wolf with a mane of fire. The three Mashin have ability to combine, and form a greater and much stronger Mashin, the combined mashin is named Rayearth.

2 Characters of the Second Season
2.1 Eagle Vision - wants to be the new Pillar, ends up dying and is unavailable.
{At once an enigmatic but fierce warrior and a gentle and chivalrous gentleman, he is the leader of Autozam's invasion of Cephiro. His father is the President of Autozam. When Lantis visits Autozam, the two become close friends.}

***2.2 Geo Metro - (open): The second-in-command of the Autozam invasion of Cephiro. Muscular and good-natured, he acts much like an older brother to Eagle and has a weakness for sweets.

***2.3 Zazu Torque - (open): Zazu is the extremely short mechanic of Eagle's forces. He has an obsession with pretty girls (in particular someone even shorter or younger than him. Like for example:Hikaru) and machinery. He also has a strong like for alcohol and often bothers Geo to get him some.

***2.4 Lady Aska of Fahren - (open): Lady Aska is the First Princess of the country of Fahren, and the head of the Fahren invasion force that attacks Cephiro. She laughs constantly, and has the tendency to say "We" instead of "I". She is very young, self-assured, and somewhat bratty. Once wanted the Pillar position but later changed her mind.

***2.5 Sanyun - (open): Sanyun's is Aska's loyal servant and childhood friend. He's much more thoughtful and studious than she is and hopes to one day assist her in ruling Fahren.

***2.6 Shang Yung - (open): Chanan is a Fahren cabinet member and current ruler of the realm until Aska comes of age. He puts a lot of pressure on Aska to become a good ruler, which causes her to think of him as a 'preachy old man' and in the English version a 'bigmouth'. In the manga series, Chanan assists Lady Aska in her invasion of Cephiro. Throughout the second series, he constantly loses his temper with her because of her rash actions, and silly decisions.

***2.7 Tarta - (open): She is the hot-headed princess of Chizeta, which sends its forces to conquer Cephiro and extend its territory. She is especially good at sword combat and can summon the djinn Rakoon.

***2.8 Tatra - (open): Is Tarta's somewhat ditzy older sister who, when focused, is a formidable warrior. She can conjure the djinn Rasheen to do her bidding and go into battle for her. Later in the second season, it is discovered that she is actually quite a formidable opponent in battle, choosing to use a whip against her enemies.

2.9 Nova - : Nova is really a shadow of Hikaru's heart. When Hikaru couldn't get over the fact that she killed Princess Emaurade, Nova was created in that instant. Near the end of the series, Nova returns to Hikaru's heart, and thus is unavailable for play.

***2.10 Debonair - (OPEN): She pulls the strings in the second season, and awaits the day when Cephiro will crumble due to lack of support. Debonair was, in fact, called into being by the darkness in the hearts of Cephiro's citizens, and as such has tremendous power. She is an anime-only character, and acts as the series major villain

2.11 Lantis - (taken by SSJSonGoku): Lantis is the younger brother of Lord Zagato, who journeyed abroad and returned to Cephiro after meeting Eagle in Autozam. He is regarded with suspicion by the other primary magic-users of Cephiro, largely due to his reclusive nature. At heart, he is gentle, although his intimidating manner puts people off. He falls in love with Hikaru during the second season.

2.12 Primera - Primera is a fairy who has acted as Lantis's guardian ever since he saved her from a monster attack. She's very jealous and possessive of Lantis; therefore she harbors a deep dislike for Hikaru, but can still use low-level healing magic when necessary. As a fairy, probably too small for activities with our characters and is thus unavailable for play.

***2.13 Sierra - (open): Sierra is Presea's identical twin sister, and the only way you can tell them apart is the feather birthmark on Sierra's chest. pretending to be Presea to take away some pain of the Magic Knight's, while they blame themselves for not being able to help Presea, and of Ascot's, where as he blames himself for killing Presea. Sierra is in love with Master Mage Clef, which is the same as her sister Presea. She is revealed to be Presea's sister later in the series. Sierra can not make weapons out of Escudo, but she can help revive the weapons once they are lost.

That would be correct, my dear. But after re-reading later that night I did figure/assume that. LOL I'd mis-read dragon's post to begin with anyway. So now, I think I'll take it all as a compliment. HA!

How do we get this started? I dunno what the story should be like 10 years after.... I'll try to find out that info I mentioned via PM now, dragon.

Well.... If she's a lesbian, and at the time she joined the thread I was the only girl, she either doesn't care who she's with, or I can take it as a compliment. Or both.

Anyway, I'm researching the characters and anticipating what the heck this thread will exactly be about. HAven't met or chatted with anyone on here so far, so also looking forward to "meeting" a few new "people" (AKA nameless computers off in the distance somewhere ) and having this new experience. I've not been into the... manga/anime scene, as I'm sure you can tell by now, but this thread intrigues me. And I'm robbing it.

the video game covers the first season, i believe....though i thought i saw mention of Lantis in it...i myself have only read the first season's worth of manga and played the game *must get anime*

I just copied from the site, and am clueless. It did mention that there are differences often between the game and the shows... so maybe that's one of them I guess.

yes....keep in mind the show/manga was originally intended for preteen female viewers/readers....of course, CLAMP themselves are almost all female
