Hello, I was directed here by a friend of mine that said this might be a good spot to post some questions on electrostim.

Now to first start, I'm quite aware of the risks and dangers involving current across any area of the body as I've been an electrician for quite some years.

After looking around on the web I studied up on TENS and EMS units that could be used as an electrostim unit, and seem to be used quite vastly for that purpose. I recently acquired a TamTek 380 unit from a friend of mine, which is a fairly large unit considering it has 8 independent channels on it.

Now some questions I have, that has been quite difficult to find answers to over web searches are...

What are some good techniques on applying electrodes on the male genitals?

Would anyone happen to know any frequency, amplitude settings that are well suited for stimulation and I should try for first?

And lastly, are there any helpful tips anyone that has been and is involved in such play that could be passed along to me?

I do not know about your unit. Mine is a Folsom PSG-202 electro-play unit that has two independent channels, that I have used for over 6 years. I keep play to my genitals and anus/prostate using attachments made for the purpose including a single pole probe for cock insertion, flex bands for around the testicles, a bi-polar butt plug and a single pole probe for insertion to the prostate.

I have seen pics of custom made attachments for cock and ball use but have no experience.

I always set all my adjustments to 0 and then adjust each till the find the "MMMMM' spot.

And I find water based lube for insertion the best, others impede the zap.

I use a folsom erostek unit. The "wave" setting is reportedly "like a blowjob with teeth" in conjunction with the cock board, but I'd have no way of telling. Sorry I can't be more informative. Like Shankara said, I normally start at 0 and see what facial expressions ensue.
 
Check the links to other posts on the subject. There is usually good info from other threads, now buried deep in the archives.

Frequency and amplitude are both settings only you can decide on. What works for one person might not work for you. Or, just a slightly different combination could be better for you, and if you just took someone else's word for it, you'd never find that special combination that works best for you.

I don't have a lot of experience with TENS unitis but I do know that one with a modulation option can cause very nice wave like sensations. If you have one with modulation or wave options, setting the initial wave to something like maybe a square wave and then modulating it a sawtooth or sine wave...something totally different than the initial wave, to give you different feelings. And, then experimenting by changing each wave and adjusting the dials can produce some interesting sensations. Finding the combination that works best for you is part of the fun.

A bipolar TENS is not only the safest kind to have, it is like having two independent single poll TENS so you can stimulate two areas of your body at one time, with two completely independent wave variables.

But, do check the links you've been offered. Good information is always worth while.

A blowjob with teeth. :D An interesting analogy. And, it sounds like it would be very true. But, I'd assume the teeth would come in as the intensity is turned up. At low settings, the wave effect can be quite enjoyable.

something simple to try

You know those gag lighters you get at gag store? The ones that shock you a little when you unknowingly go to light a smoke. Well , I got to thinking one day. I got 2, 6 foot piece's of thin gauge wire, stripped off the casing about 1 1/2 inches and taped it to the lighters body. The other end of the wire I stripped back about 1 1/2 inches. The second wire I stripped back one side and taped it to the thumb button of the lighter, the other end was stripped back about 1 1/2 inches. Be very very cautious doing any zap play above the waist. it can interrupt a heart beat with devastating results. placing one pole on one nipple and the other pole on the other nipple is a huge NO NO. I have seen some do electro play with the two poles on each side of only one nipple but I don't know enough to trust that myself.

Protect your heart, keep the internal electro play below the bellybutton

The double pole TENS units (and similar improvised devices) should be OK, for the most part. The problem is when the current goes from one nipple to the other. That makes it cross the chest cavity and also through the heart. That's not a good thing. The heart beats because of a small electrical impulse and if that impulse is disturbed by some other shock or electrical current, it could make the heart stop beating.

Double pole TENS units have both + and - leads within the same clip (provided it's a double pole clip) and so the current only flows a short distance from one side of the clip to the other side...and through the nipple, of course.

Personally, I consider double pole units to be safe, as long as the unit and leads are in good condition and it is used correctly. For instance, the body should be dry...no play right after or while in the pool. :rolleyes: Water and electricity like each other... a LOT. The current could travel wherever the water is. (insert smiley getting electrocuted here).

For safety reasons, I'd move from her nipples to her pussy lips. Below the waist is fine for such fun. I think she might enjoy that just as much...if not more.

It also has Surge Rampout control. Slow for slowly increasing voltage in and out or Fast for immediate full setting of what you have it set on.

Also has OUTPUT, I can change it from DC and AC power and lastly I can change it from Bi-polar and Normal mode. Sure is one heck of a unit.

I’ve tried being creative by making my own toys since the electrodes that came with the unit are way to big for use around the genital area. Only thing I can say it has not worked out to well since getting a firm enough contact to the skin all around is hard, and if not done properly gives off a very uncomfortable zap to the outer skin.

I plan on buying myself some conductive cock rings, and since I have gator clips I don’t need any with special connectors on them as I have noticed they are extremely over priced.

You might look into getting a conductive gel that helps the current conduct. You can get this at the same place that TENS and attachments are sold. Plus, anything you make on your own should be made with very conductive metals, such as copper. Aluminum also works, but it's difficult to start the current flowing from metal to skin, because the current is low and the metals need a little help transfering the current.

That's where the gel could maybe help. And, with repeated use, all metals will develop a coating on them, that will not be good for conducting current. You need to find a way to keep the metal shiny and clean, where it meets skin. Steel wool, maybe? And, sometimes a little moisture is all that's needed to start the current. Keep a spray bottle of water handy, to see if that works.

That'd be great if you could post the pictures.
I've been attempting on my own to make some toys with what I have laying around. But Copper 12awg solid wire isn't the easiest to work with and properly shape without putting some sharp marks on it from tools.

So far foil has been the best way to go for me, since all I have to do is make straps out of them and gator clip them tightly around areas, though they can tend to have sharp edges as well.

I gave my Astroglide a try as a lubricant to enhance the contact and it seems to work well so I believe I'll stick with it since it's what I usually use for all purposes.

My next plan is to attempt to form an anal electrode out of the wire, possibly just take the 12awg bare wire and possibly coil it around a pin to keep sharp tool marks from it and use some type of tape to keep it insulated up to the coiled portion and just use foil or something in behind the base to complete the circuit through the prostate.

I would love to get that Deep Throat attachment, it looks pretty damned fun. Though I've never used Urethra Sounds before, but is something I plan on trying sometime.

For attaching electrodes use conductive gel, it softens the feel, try and get "adhesive" gel it stops then falling off, positioning is critical and the most imortant of all is relax, use it as an aid rather than sit and wait for the eruption.
