Or I'll just share mine.

So we've been very wet the past few days. The sun finally came out today. Fortunately I live up on a hill, so we were safe, but this morning I got in the car and drove just a mile down the road to photograph a normally lazy, docile little stream that winds through picturesque grazing pastures and farmland.

I've lived in this general area my whole life (except for 4 years in college in Indiana) and I've never seen this stream looking ANYTHING like this.

This is around the corner from my house.

Yikes. We're lucky to live up on a hill.

I was just thrilled that my basement stayed dry. Did you have any damage?

We are pretty lucky in our area. Even though is pretty flat we have had very little flooding. It's our extremely sandy soil

I live up on a hill too so we are dry except for the water that runs down the hill, into our basement window and out the garage door.

Here is a picture of the major highway that washed away and killed 2 people a couple of miles from my house.

Wow. That's nasty. There were some water rescues here and some fatalities due to storm related accidents (i.e accidents that happened in the rain) but no one killed by flooding in this particular area that I know of.

The community on the other side of a lake from my community got evacuated today because the dam is ready to bust. They picked the wrong side of the lake to live on.

I don't have any pictures but it's really bad. You should see our back yard and we're not even close to any lakes or rivers.

Perkasie Dairy Queen got flooded big time. All the employees had to leave. It's where us teens used to party when we were younger. There's a huge creek there and I like taking the kids to go feed the baby ducks. I don't think they're well now. *sigh*

It's really ugly here. I know no one probably know where these pictures are from but here is a link to the daily paper from here. There is over 100 pictures to look at. In a minute I'll post a picture from directly in front of my house.

Edit: I can't post a picture from in front of my house...the file is too big. Sorry.

Yeah our local news website has a "post your flood photos" section too.

You know what I want? I want a t-shirt that says,

"I SURVIVED THE FLOOD OF 2006 WITH 2 PRESCHOOLERS....NOW SOMEONE BRING ME A MARTINI!"

I need one that says I Survived the Flood of 2006 with a 12 year old and a 19 year old. Bring me a Gin and Tonic!

Actually it's not so bad in here right now. Thank god.

I know exactly what you're talking about, but hey, if my kids beg for ice cream, who am I to say no? ;)

Well this isn't the east as I'm from Houston. The picsare from a few years ago when Tropical Storm Allison dumped 28" of rain on Houston over a 4 day period..

The first pic is teh I-45 and I-10 interchange just north of downtown
The second pic is a guy kayaking down highway 59 south of downtown. It's 8 lanes wide here and the water is probably 10-12 feet deep
the third pic is at I-45 and main street
the fourth pic is somewhere in downtown
the fifth pic is I-10 headed east from the I-45/I-10 interchange shown above
