Another idea for an srp thread. Also based on the world of Laurell K Hamilton. The Merry Gentry series.

Name: Merry Gentry
Title(s): Princess Meredith NicEssus, Child of Peace; Besaba's Bane (among the Seelie); Meredith, Princess of Flesh and Blood
Description: 33 years old and exactly five foot. Her hair was a deep rich red, a color that had black highlights instead of auburn. It was a rich red called blood auburn among the Seelie Court. She has pure white skin that glows when her glamour is dropped. She also has tricolored eyes rimmed in vibrant greens and gold.

I will take the role of Frost for myself.

Description: He was very tall with silver hair that fell like a glimmering curtain to his ankles. His skin was a solid white and eyes of a soft grey before a storm. His face was all angular and arrogantly handsome.
Background: Frost served as the Queen's consort over 800 years ago. He now acts as Merry's consorts. He carries a sword called the Winter Kiss aka Geamhradh Po'g.

There was a second of silence, not awestruck this time, but awkward."I do not know," Doyle said at last.

"We have to try harder, that's all," Rhys said.

Galen nodded solemnly. "More sex, we must have more sex."

I frowned at both of them, but couldn't keep it up. Finally I laughed. "We have more sex and I won't be able to walk."

"We'll carry you everywhere," Rhys said.

"Yes," Frost said.

I looked at all of them slowly. I was pretty sure they were kidding, pretty sure.

Maybe aren´t as many knowing this series as the Anita Blake one. If anyone is interrested in joining but maybe don´t know much about the world, i will gladly help as much as i can.

I'll gladly take on the role of Merry if I might and if we can get more people...Gotta at least have a Rhys and a Doyle...not to mention a Cel and the deliciously evil Aunt Andais.

Yeah, we need Ravens. I like Galen also. Rhys and Frost are my favourites though

Cel is still in punishment right? been a long time since i read the books.

He was still in punishment at the end of the third book but I haven't read the fourth yet. It doesn't come out in a normal paperback until november so I haven't bought it yet.

I am in Limbo when it comes to Laurell K Hamilton books atm. read all Merry Gentry and all Anita blake books that is availible in Sweden.

Short synapsis for those that haven't read the books:

Merry Gentry if a Fairy Princess living in LA. Initially she is hiding out from her Aunt Andais and the rest of the Unseelie Court because her Cousin Cel keeps sending people to kill her - she's competition for the throne - and she's seen as easy prey due to not having a hand of power (a magical ability based in the users hand). Later she also recieves the Hand of Blood which allows her to call ALL the blood from her opponant through even the smallest of cuts. Needless to say a VERY potent combination, especially at a time when Fairie magic seems to be fading and most only recieve one hand of power.

Eventually her hiding place is found out however and before she can get out of LA lots of mayhem ensues and she finally receives her hand of power, the Hand of Flesh, which allows her to turn people inside out. Literally. Doyle - the Queens right hand assassin - shows up and escorts Merry home where the Queen makes a deal with her; she'll give Merry as many of her gaurds as Merry chooses (and one that Andais chooses to act as her spy) to sleep with and try to get Merry pregnant. The catch of course is that she is now indirect competition with Cel. Whichever one of them produces an heir first gets the Fairie throne.

That's the basic premise of the novels though there are of course lots of side plots, lots of magic and LOTS of sex.

The gurds that acts as Merry´s consorts are Doyle, Frost, Rhys, Galen and Nicca. Nicca is in fact Aunt Andais choice if i remember right Kitto is a snake goblin that Merry keeps to have an alliance with the goblin king Kurag.

Background: She is co-heir to the Unseelie throne and 5th in line to the Seelie. Merry is a descendent from five fertility dieties. By being Princess of Blood, she can call all the blood from a beings body through just one cut. Her hand of flesh can literally turn a person inside out. After Andais lifted the gees on her Ravens, Merry was permitted to bring a few back to LA so that she can try to get pregnant. Whoever produces a baby first out of her or Cel will gain the throne.


Name: Doyle
Title(s): Raven, Captain of the Queen's Guard, Bearer of the Painful Flame, Baron Sweet-tongue, Queen's Darkness
Description: His skin was black as if carved from ebony. His cheekbones were high and sculpted, the chin a little too sharp for my own taste. He was all angles and darkness. His hair reaches down to his ankles normally worn in a tight braid that was black, but not as black as his skin. The braid left the tips of his pointed ears bare and visible. Two fine diamond studs graced each dark earlobe and small silver hoops climbed up the cartilage of both earsto the very top where the ear curved to a soft fleshy point. He also had a silver ring in his left nipple.
Background: Doyle is one of the Queen's Guard/Ravens and her right hand. His nickname was 'Queen's Darkness' and the spider is his livery. He can eminate a green flame from his hands which which can kill with touch. Doyle's gradmother was one of the hounds of the great hunt. His grandfather was a phouka who could shift to dog and horse. He now acts as one of Merry's consorts.

Name: Rhys
Title(s): Raven, one of the Queen's Guard, god of death, Lord of Relics, Cromm Cruach, Lord of Death
Description: He had a waist length spill of white wavy hair. He was only 5'6'' tall which was short for a guard.Rhys had a boyishly handsome face with cupidbow lips and one pale blue eye. The other eye was lost forever under a furrow of scars. Claw marks cut accross the upper right quarter of his face. One single claw mark parted an inch from the rest of him, cutting accross otherwise perfect skin to cross his upper right forhead to cut down the bridge of his nose and lower left cheek.
Background: Rhys loved American slang and was a huge film noir fan. He even had a house outside the city mound with electricity and tv. Rhys is also one of the oldest sidhe who was alive before the battles with the Firbolgs which was over several thousand years ago. By being the Lord of Relics, he could at one time raise the dead in armies to fight by their side.


Name: Galen Greenhair
Title(s): a Raven, one of the Queen's Guard
Description: His hair was a pale green which fell in short curls to just below his ear, except for one long thin braid. His skin was white and eyes were green, the color of new spring grass.
Background: Galen's father was a pixie, whom the queen had killed for the crime of seducing one of her handmaidens. At 70 years old, he was one of the youngest of the royal guard, and often considered the weakest. He never played politics and spoke when silence would be wiser. He was Merry's playmate/protector when she was young. He now acts as one of Merry's consorts.


Name: Nicca
Title(s): Raven, one of the Queen's Guard
Description: Genetics had traced giant butterfly wings like a tattooed on his body that expanded accross his shoulders, arms and down his back to disappear into his pants. His face was like an angelic child and his body was just over six feet long. Most of Nicca was in shades of brown. His skin was the color of pale milk chocolate, and rich brown hair that fell straight to his knees.
Background: He was sent to Merry to act as the Queen's spy in replace of Pasco. His father was demi-fey while his mother was one of the ladies of the court, a full blooded sidhe.

Yep Nicca is the spy...though at the end of the third book there are lots more Ravens assigned to her and she strikes a bargain with Andais that any Raven's sent to her are HERS and don't have to return to Andais' service even after Merry gets pregnant.

Where exactly do you want to pick up the story? I only ask because at the end of the third book some of those descriptions have changed.

I know that they have gained their hand of powers back after defeating The Nameless. most of them did at least. I think you know more about the series Caela than i do

lol...i've read them more than once because i love them. Plus my memory for books is pretty good. Which is why I asked where you wanted to pick up the story.

I just read the last sentences in Seduced by moonlight. Seems like Merry will have 16 consorts in A stroke of midnight. As she aren´t busy enough

I do quite like the look of Rhys - but haven't read the series. This thread looks like a great concept - but I'm concerned both about the m/f ratio and the fact that I'm not familiar with the series.

If another writer is required, then let me know, however I'll lurk until then.

One thing is that merry´s guards aren´t alowed to have sex with anyone other than Merry.

Well then Caela's going to be busier than a onelegged man in an arsekicking contest.

To be honest I suspected as much - as it seems to be a harem style setup. Well, that doesn't necessarily bother me, especially as us guy fey will have the easy job.
