She sent me an email today stating that she was in severe pain from problems with her back and won't be online for a couple of days. Her husband finally got her to promise that if it isn't better tomorrow, she'll go to the hospital.

Take the advice offered above and get it checked out before it becomes chronic. Back pain is no fun, chronic back pain can be damned near crippling. BTDT and don't wish it on anyone. (Well maybe on one or two but no more than that.)
