Here's the place to discuss your picks for the 2005 Literotica Awards. Thanks, and have fun!

Congratulations to the nominees...

I for one am glad Lit took 54 votes off one of my stories in one hit a month or so ago (after it was a January winner), further reducing it's score AND failed to remove bombs from either of my monthly winners for the last six months.

At least they saved me an email withdrawing from the contest.

And I don't need another crappy pen or poorly photocopied certificate anyway.

To the winners, enjoy your spoils.

Just take a second to ask yourself why ALL the monthly winners don't get the opportunity to be voted for again. It's a hollow victory.

Wow, don't hold back SN, tell us how you feel.

I just want to thank people who vote for me now. It's an honor to just be nominated...Okay, can I get more cliche?

Anyway, thanks

Danielle :rose:

I would like to *sob* thank Sir Nathan...

For a second there, I almost lost my head.

Ordered a Vera Wang gown... started writing my acceptance speech... called my mom....

I'm so grateful he reminded me it's just porn.

Sincerely,
ElSol

I want to thank Black Tulip, Vella, Lizzy, and DreamPilot for nominating me for the "helpful editor" category. Even though I didn't make the final five. those four votes were the same number Cloudy received which is quite a compliment.

I've never understood the "why" of the selection process for story category nominations. It seems possible that stories with the second, third, fourth, and fifth highest score could be left out in the cold. Maybe a few "at large" stories (the highest scoring non-winners) could be added to the list of monthly winners.

But, as with the writing contests, while the scoring system may not be perfect, participation is free.

Awe Rumpy, If I would have known you were an editor, I would have tossed a vote your way.

And a big thank for anyone who nominated me. I declined to participate in the contest, but i appreciate your support.

I have too many people to thank to name them all one by one. I know they know who they are though. :D I'm grateful and honoured to have the chance to be working with such great writers.

And yeah it's just porn :p but it doesn't make it less important and valuable.

Yer such a cowboy

I woulda voted for ya, given the chance... ;)

Kinda shocking to be suddenly thrown into the mix, when I didn't even know I'd ever been in one of those monthly category thingies...! Why doesn't anyone tell ya???

I just starting writing in May of last year. I appreciate the readers as well as the other writers here on lit. I am also thankful for all the folks that are willing to edit for me. I have had fun learning and changing my style of writing and it is a fun ride to be on, when the little red H appears it brings a grin. To have two nominations is exciting, win or lose, it was another thrill to add to the others that lit. has brought to me. . . and *shivers* they have brought me many. ;) :D Congratulations to everyone. :)

Not sure if that's a criticism of my comment or not, but never mind. I'm honoured that the person whose mind conjured 'A Master's Ring', one of the greatest BDSM stories ever written, took the time to respond. At least I'll always remember the last post I ever wrote to this website.

SN

ps. Good luck everyone. And I mean it. You have all produced wonderful work. Know that what you do is amazing, win or lose. Just don't get carried away and remember to have a life.

Even if it is just porn, when I sit down at the computer, I put my heart and soul into my words. If I didn't, I wouldn't submit the story. The only story that I didn't put my heart into is the one story that is doing the worst.

I think anyone nominated or nominated to be nominated deserves a pat on the back.

Congrats all.

I have to say, I def didn't expect to be nominated for anything, but hte most fun thing for me out of this contest is getting to go through and read all the stories! some of them are amazing and i might never have found them otherwise =) i def wish i could see some of the other nominations though... just think, if each of these 5 stories is good, how much fun would it be to see the others??

i think i underestand why we have a limited number to vote on though... otherwise the race would be MUCH closer, probably a lot more ties, and the votes would be spread out too thin. makes it harder to be like, "oh, this person def won"...

congrats to everyone!!!!

Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm much more comfortable just writing, and sitting on the sidelines.

I agree with you 100%. I don't write porn, while some of it might be erotic I try to write stories with people that seem real, and that have real feelings. And like you, I do put everything into each thing that I write.

Yeah it may be smut, but I try to make it good smut! :D

You should have been up there for a few different cats, Bri. And I'd have voted for you also. Your Montana Summer series is a winner all on its own.

Thanks... I appreciate the thought more than anything else. Being up there against some of those authors is an honor all on it's own.

The debate on "Is it porn" or "Is it erotica" will always be there. It is whatever the reader and the author decide. . . I write erotica 99.9% :D of the time and I have written three "porns" ;).

It is an honor to be nominated. I'm flattered and pleasantly surprised. Thank you to everyone who is/has been reading and participating in the voting process. :rose:

I just found out I'm nominated in three  categories. Yes, i do have a life outside Lit. LOL But it's very stimulating to see some of my writing is appreciated enough to reach that stage.

Crappy pen? It's still working.
And it was a lot of fun to get a package all the way from the States.

:D :nana: :D

By the way, congrats to all nominees!!!

:D
