Okay, I screwed up Christmas totally. And I posted a story to the Valentine's Day contest before the deadline, I think, but they have yet to accept the story. So, I screwed up V-Day now as well...

Earth Day is next! Earth Day is on April 22, but our contest starts on March 25! For those of you who want some history, the first Earth Day was on April 22, 1970. It was created by a former Wisconsin Senator (D) Gaylord Nelson.

So, that said, I have an awesome idea already! I'm just posting this thread to allow others to brainstorm! :D Anyone have ideas yet? Let's think spring! :D
 
I think I'm going to do a continuation of my last earthday story about a father daughter camping trip.

As far as new ideas I've been tossing around an idea where a bunch of loggers fall asleep beneath a tree and dream about a dryad who comes and services their needs. I'm thinking about it being a tragedy, the tree gets cut down in the end and the men who'd had the same dream for x nights stop having the dream, or dream of her death. Or perhaps a not to graphic, maybe even just alluded to scene of her being raped and killed. Symbolic of the tree and the gifts of nature. I'm not normally into symbolism or emotional stuff so somebody please save me here. I know what the idea is but it isn't fleshing well.

Also you could do a story about a bunch of polution monsters, either standard tentacle (though I did that last year to so so results) or something deeper about a woman representing mother nature punishing the men who have poluted her. Maybe stealing kidneys for fertilizer. Mwa ha ha. I have to reign in the crazy some times.
 
You might not be into symbolism very much, but I do like the idea with the dryad and the men being loggers...

My story has Mother Earth in it, as Gaea the Greek Goddess of Earth. :)

i have never, successfully gotten a submission in for a contest. Slacker to the core, i have the idea but think oh is too far away...blah blah. BUT BUT BUT HE's self-inflicted kick up the butt was contagious and i'v actually got an idea and started writing it!! LOL someone poke me every few weeks though to make sure it's still alive :p
i actually go the idea cos I wanted to write a story for another Lit member and his wife Heather. So the theme of the story will revolve around heather , the plant. the main character's this mystery man stumbling upon cottage upon the scottish hills that are covered in heather, and over the course of time, he learns all the uses of heather as medicine, food flavouring, even as thatching for roofs etc...and the while the romance buds...(with the ocassional hot fuck scene LOL *shrug* it IS lit after all.)
 
I misssed V Day. No idea if E Day wil happen.

You might read my tale from last year Learning to Love the Outdoors , let me have sequel suggestions.

I'll toss a few ideas on this thread once I think of them.

A nature hike to celebrate Earth Day. The klutzy virginal gal twists and ankle. A guy is left to tend to her until the rest of the group reaches the end of the trail where cell service wil allow them to call help. Unfortunately, a storm brews up, the rest of the hgroup gets stranded too. So the twosome take shelter for the night.

What is the guy like? A nerd? A hunk? A friend/stranger? Her roomie's bf? A relative?

A longer story or ch 2 could deal with the orgy the rest of the group enjoys.

Ohhhh, okay. Shows what I know of jails. lol I didn't know they would ever mix the sexes. I suppose if it's a temp "holding cell" or whatever...

poster contest in high school senior art class leads to paint on body. Since showers in ladies locker room full of cheerleaders, nerdy virgin gal sneaks into men's locker room.
