General Board or Bitch Board

I really think we should change the name of the board from General to Bitch. If you have nothing to bitch about you have no right to post here. Ask half the board. General usually means you can post anything you like here, someone posts a personal, and they get flamed. Someone posts that they are depressed and get flamed. Someone asks to have there story read, and they aren't supposed to ask that here, instead they are supposed to put it on a part of the board that gets read by a hand-full of people. I'm tired of coming to the board and seeing nothing but rants. Witch hunts to Picking fights.

When I first came here, it felt like family... Now I look around and all I see are faces drooling for blood.

Why cant we just let people be who they are. Why do we have to flame them til the conform?

I log on to lit and feel like I'm back in the 5th grade playground. People picking fights with each others. Boys pulling girls hair. Its just so childish. People I thought where intelligent, resort to name calling. Everyone acting as if they are better then everyone else.

All I want is for people to think before they post. As my parents always say, "If you dont have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." If you think a post cant hurt someone, you are wrong. All our words take a toll on each other. If you dont like someone, just ignore them, don't flame them. Try to be a bit kinder to everyone before we end up driving everyone away.

Just please think before you post, would you like someone opening up your wounds and pouring salt in them? I know I wouldn't.

Clap Clap Clap - finally someone who has the nerve to tell all of you to grow up - I used to like coming here - thought the threads were intelligent - now it's a witch hunt - doesn't matter how long you stay away whenever you come back someone is trashing another person in here. What ever happened to respecting others opinions - did they stop teaching that in school?
Grow up people - none of us are perfect - we all have our problems but roasting someone for posting their griefs or opinions is just plain childish.
Guess that's why I stopped posting here.

The board usually has its ups and downs...Its been in a downward slump for a long time now...It is almost irritating!

But, I will tell you this now. Most of the way I am on here, is pretty much what you get when you know Beebee. I'm sassy and quick-tempered. But I can also keep my cool when need be.

The problem is this...Everything will be going along fine. Then someone will complain about one thing. Then someone will complain about the complaint. Then someone else will complain about complaining about the complaint. Then another person will post about how there's so much complaining going on, which will prompt someone else to complain about posts that complain about the complaining going on.

In other words, it's generally much ado about nothing. The complaints about the negativity on the board are spawned more by the constant threads about negativity on the board, not by the one negative incident.

Which is fine by me. The BB is always fun for me at every stage. I'm weird like that. But the people who are annoyed by it all have to realize that it's within their control to stop it from happening. Each of us has as much power over what happens on the BB as anyone else. We are thus equally responsible for its content. If we sit back and let others dictate the discussions, then it's our fault when we don't like what's being discussed.

We all can start threads on whatever topics we like. We can contribute to discussions we want to see more of. We can ignore discussions that annoy us. Unfortunately, what we often choose to do is spend time arguing on threads that annoy us (like that's going to stop them from happening), so we don't have time to spend on discussions we like. Then we complain that the board's full of stuff we don't like, even though we've played a part in keeping those discussions alive.

All you oldsters have heard this song before. All you newbies will hear it again if you stick around long enough. If everyone would chill out and do what makes them happy, everything would be peachykeen. But in my experience, that's not likely to happen no matter what I say.

And so it goes. Up & down. Side to side. Round & round.

Nah...everyone sets up em again and play resumes. People leave, everyone freaks out, then other people show up and everyone forgets that people left.

I have to agree with LMM. I have been told that the board has its ups and downs but dang there are some things that have been going on for weeks now. I mean get over it and move on. I rarely post here anymore anyways. I barely find anything good to talk about anymore. Maybe all the good topics are done with I guess. <sighs>

Hear hear.... I agree totally. I have gotten to the point where I could care less if I come here. Which is not something I like. I honestly care about the people who post here... if even half of them are in a constant state of PMS.

I dread coming here.... and if it wasn't for a few people..... I wouldn't be here........

That's what I'm talking about, people. It's your board. If you don't like what's being discussed but don't take the time & effort to start a discussion about what YOU want to talk about, then you have no one to blame but yourselves.
