This is the out of character thread for Christmas in Brush Creek

This thread is open to anyone all we ask is that you post a little about your character before joining in and that you try not to alter a plot that someone else has in play. (unless permission is given)

The characters already in play are as follows:

Maddy Heart, 24 years old , amazonian build with Aurban hair that flames in the sun light. hard working and has a stubborn streak a mile long. Loves her horses and her dog but finds it hard to trust in anything else.

Maddy runs a small horse ranch just outside of Brush Creek called Heart Stud she was born and raised in these parts and knows just about everyone in town....but she tends to keep to herself since her pa died a few years back leaving her the farm.

Tom Williams, thirty-year-old drifter... Tall ,dark, and you know.... horse trainer, general carpentry work. Very handy around the farm…wandering feet, wandering hands, wandering eye. (Played by Straddler)

Sarah Henry - new school teacher, tall, Polite and well spoken. (will get Sharingfantasies to post more as its her character)

Grew up in a small farming community/college town in southern Colorado. Always wanted to be a teacher, although her parents live on a small ranch with horses and cattle. Had been teaching for four years in her home town and was engaged to be married, two days before the wedding she caught fiance in bed with someone else, so decided that was an opportunity to spread her wings.

Found a teaching position in the tiny town of Brush Creek, arrived a week ago, found a small house that she is renting until she decides if she wants to buy in the area or at the end of the school year move on. During the week she has gotten settled into the house, the classroom, and gotten to know a few of the townspeople by name and face. She is excited because she starts teaching Monday, and that has her time and mind occupied preparing for the students.

She has spent a lot of her time thinking about her fiance and has come to realize that he did her a favor as her ego is more hurt than her heart. She looks forward to becoming a part of the townsfolk and enjoying Christmas in Brush Creek.
 
Jock McFadden
Age : 32
Height : 5ft 11in
Dark hair and brown eyes.
Owns a horse ranch on the other side of town from Maddy.

He was born in Scotland and visited Bush Creek on holiday to visit relatives of his wife’s, they decided to stay on and Sue his wife became friendly with Maddy after Jock started rearing race horses and using Maddy’s fathers Stallions for stud. Sue relatives were quite old when they arrived and died six or seven years ago leaving the ranch to Jock and Sue. Sue was riding over to see Maddy one day and was thrown when her horse shied at a snake, she broke her neck and never recovered. That was two years ago and Jock was left with two young children to bring up on his own. Joe was now 12 years old and Jayne 10 years old, Jock had kept up the business arrangement with Maddy. Although they were quite friendly together, neither of them had though about a relationship other than the business one, as they say don’t mix business with pleasure.

Height : 1.8m
Weight : 80 kg
Description : Brown Hair, dark blue eyes, with little bit of freckles. Built, but in a skinny sort of way. Is an accountant by profession, but wants to be a ‘cowboy’ since the heady days of childhood. Wants to be a pirate too, sailing the wide ‘Accountant Sea’ (If you know the song). Is shortsighted and wears glasses. Offset by his tendency to wear chinos with boots (the pants legs tucked in), and a belt with a buckle the size of Texas.

Sent in by an accountancy firm to check on the books of the Heart Stud Ranch, after the demise of Maddy’s father. (Taking liberty here to insert the character. Will change based on better ideas on how to introduce the character)

I mentioned Jock and family in my last post I hope that was okay........I tried not to give to much away but implied enough so Maddy and Sue were close. Any way hope its ok and hope you post soon. :)

heheh I didn't know who was calling first Jock or Chris so I left it open for you guys to sought out.........either way I can always talk to one hang up and the phone can ring again. But its up to you guys.
 
Sorry Chris and Sara...........I was just re reading your posts and noticed

When he had drunk half of the glass, she watched his eyes behind his glasses start to focus. She picked up the phone, dialed the number and handed the handset to him. "Good luck with your call," she said quietly, moving away to give him privacy, despite her curiousity. He didn't look like a cowhand looking for a job, he looked like a bookkeeper or librarian or even a schoolteacher.

Perhaps he can get no answer?? and have to stay with sara a moment or two longer till he can try again?? not sure but sorry I must have just skipped over that bit and then read Jocks post and answered his call first.

I wish to wish everyone a Merry, Jolly, Merry Christmas. Hope that Santa brings ya'll lotsa gifts.

To Straddler and Bullshot, and not forgetting Saphire and Sharing Fantasies, I'd like to apologize for the slowness in posting.

Based on a suggestion of Saphire, I'll move my character to assume that there was no answer on the phone. Even though Chris is late, he can still get to the Ranch and do his job the next day. I'll see if Chris can get invited to saty at Sarah's place. (I'm of course assuming that things are/were hot enough between Tom and Maddy that the phone went unanswered :))

Anyways, have a great hols, guys and gals.

Oh I would so love to have a white Christmas and to enjoy a giant festive feast but its just not the tradition here in Australia as its sooooooooooo hot. Your all rugged up and here I sit in a tank top and shorts with two fans blowing.

Our Christmas dinner is usually sea food and cold ham with salads or a BBQ lunch with the family at the beach. The egg nog is usually a cold beer or soft drink. Very different from what you see in most Christmas movies.

I do hope you all had a great Christmas and enjoyed it no matter what the temperature..................pssst send me some snow its too hot!!!!!

Tom & Maddy are holding off continuing with the next day until everyone post the events of there evening. I believe the accountant and teacher are still at her house and that Maddy's mate Jock is with his kids thinking of Christmas.

I have enjoyed the first day in Brush creek I hope you guys have as well.

No snow here along the coast of southern California but you can take all the rain you want, been raining all day. I am sure there is snow in the nearby mountains though. :)

Happy New Year to all of you that have already had it and to those of us with hours to go. :)

RAIN...............oh please send the rain we have just had the hottest new years on record I am not sure what you guys measure temperature in but it was 43-45 degree's Celsius which I believe is about 110 - 115 Fahrenheit. So basically bloody hot.

We spent the day in the pool drinking cocktails and just having a nice time with friends and family.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
